Flashback to whenever Himiko was younger, around seven or so.
Inferno- Mrs. GREEN APPLE
"If it shines, one day the light will die."Himi's pov.
I walk happily through the streets of Konoha, my hand in my sensei's. He walks beside me quietly, eyes scanning the stalls around us. We were shopping for ingredients for his experiments, restocking his supply.
"Ochi! Can we get some dango?" I ask, pointing at the stand with wide, begging eyes. Orochimaru looks down at me, his pointed eyes gentle as I look at him hopefully.
"Will you show me the new jutsu that we developed?" He asks, making me nod quickly.
"Yes, Ochi-sensei..." I drop his hand and preform a couple of hand sighs, controlling my chakra with perfection. "Here we go..."
"Very good, very good..." He watches as my image flickers and reappears behind him. I'd channeled my chakra to my feet and legs, increasing my speed with a couple of hand seals.
"Thank you, Sensei." I bow with a bright smile, taking the dango he offered with a happy laugh. "We should learn something else soon. That one was too easy."
"Perhaps something S-rank this time..." Orochimaru thinks aloud, letting me take his hand again. "You're quite the genius, Little one. We'd be an unstoppable team, you and I."
"I can be your side kick." I nod, taking a large bite of my Hanami Dango. "We can beat up anyone that tries to mess with our village."
"Yeah..." Orochimaru nods, eyes looking to the distance as we walk. "But we would do better on our own. Imagine all the things we could accomplish."
"Can we bring Obito?" I ask, looking at him with curious eyes. "I want to bring him, and Kakashi."
"I think it should be just us." Orochimaru shakes his head, "This is just a Ochi and Himi thing."
"But Daddy and Suma will be sad if I'm gone to long." I say, looking at him in worry now. "Mama will be mad if I miss dinner."
"I'm sure that it'll be fine." Orochimaru says, fixing the bow in my hair. "You're my best student, so I need to take you with me."
"When are you leaving?" I ask, fear filling my chest and tears forming in my eyes. "I don't want you to go."
"I'll take you with me, little one." He says, giving me a small smile. "We've got to go soon, actually. Today."
"But I have to ask Daddy first." I say, wiping my eyes with a frown. "Daddy doesn't like if I go somewhere without telling him. He said that some people have disappeared."
"It's okay, I've already asked him, Little one." Orochimaru says, picking me up in his arms now. I nod, giving him a small smile as his eyes scan the area around us. "We've got to get on our way."
"Where are we going?" I ask as he starts to jump along the tree line.
"We've got to stop by my lab, and then we're going where ever we want to." Orochimaru says, holding me close as he runs quickly. He kept glancing around us, which I didn't notice.
"Orochimaru! Give me her now!" I quickly look up past Orochimaru's shoulder, seeing Jiraiya running after us with pure rage all over his face. I frown, confused as Orochimaru laughs.
"Oh, you fool..." Orochimaru grips me tighter as he picks up his pace. "As if I'd give you my most prized possession! She's mine!"
"Miko! Come to me, baby!" Jiraiya calls to me, reaching out with his arms. "Get away from him, okay?!"
"Raiya?" I look at Orochimaru, seeing his facial expression. He was no longer gentle smiles and loving tones, his eyes were cold and sharp as he ran from my other sensei. Confusion starts to fill my entire body as another voice calls out.
"Himi, baby! Come here to Aunt Nade!" Tsunade calls out, running beside Jiraiya now. Her brown eyes beg me to listen. "He's a bad man, baby! Please!" Orochimaru laughs and I struggle slightly in his arms.
"Ochi, what is going on?" I ask, fear raising in my chest. "Why are they chasing us?"
"It's a game, little one. We've got to run as fast as we can, because they want to hold us back." He tells me, cold dark eyes meeting my damp green ones. "They're scared of change, terrified of everything that we stand for. But we won't let them hold us down, okay? Don't listen to them."
"Ochi, you're hurting me." I tell him, his arms around me too tightly. His grip doesn't loosen as he ignores me now. "Ochi, please. You're scaring me."
"Miko! Get away from him!" Jiraiya calls out again, voice coming a little closer now. "He's going to use you for your eyes, okay?! Please, understand! Don't listen to him!"
"He's a murderer, Baby! He killed our villagers! Imagine what he might do to you!" Tsunade says, begging me. "Just come to me, Himiko! You're family is worried!"
"L... Let go of me..." I start to struggle in Orochimaru's arms, thrashing now as betrayal sinks into my chest. He'd betrayed me, and the village. "Get away from me."
"Calm down, Little One." Orochimaru says, irritation filling his voice as he holds me tightly. "This'll be over soon."
"L-Let go!" I yell, anger building in my throat. I quickly take control of my chakra and condense it around me, using a certain fire style to cover me in flames. This was a move that quickly ate up my chakra, something that was purely anger endused.
"Ugh!" Orochimaru drops me quickly, where Jiraiya was there to catch me. Orochimaru growls, still running off as he gives up on taking me with him. Jiraiya comes to a stop as Tsunade continues to run after Orochimaru.
"Raiya, what's going on?" I ask, catching my breath as Jiraiya holds me close to his chest as he starts to make his way back to the village. "Why was Orochimaru running away with me?"
"He did something horrible, Miko. He was trying to get away, and he wanted to take you to use you somehow." Jiraiya says, anger building in his tone. "That snake..."
"B-But why..?" I ask, tears starting to drip down my cheeks as I feel the empty part in my heart that Orochimaru used to inhabit. "Why would he do that?"
"He's hungry, Miko. He won't be satisfied." Jiraiya says, wiping my tears with a small smile. "Don't cry. It's not your fault."
"I-I thought he loved us." I sob, hands grasping Jiraiya as I cry. "Why w-would he do that?"
"I don't know, Himiko... I really don't know." Jiraiya says, multiple Anbu appearing in the treeline.
"Lord Hokage has asked for us to take Honorable Daughter Himiko to her room." The Anbu captain says, bowing deeply for Jiraiya. "She must be kept under watch by us until it is safe."
"Here, try and cheer her up a bit. She's had a rough time..." Jiraiya passes me into his arms, giving me a bright smile as I look up at him. "I'll see you later, Miko. Wipe your eyes before someone thinks you're some sort of baby."
"I'm not a baby." I say, tilting my chin up as I wipe my eyes.
"I know, Miko." Jiraiya smiles, nodding as the Anbu Captain stands up straight. "Stay safe."
"Bye, Raiya." I say, watching him disappear in a puff of smoke. The Anbu doesn't say much as he runs with me in his arms, bringing me to my house without a word. I didn't mind, because I didn't feel like talking much either. Even after he dropped me off in my room and stood outside my window, I didn't say anything. I just lay on my bed and practice my chakra control, giving myself something to do by gathering my chakra at different points of my body. I do this for who knows how long, just waiting for someone to tell me that it was safe to come out.
I flinch whenever I hear a knock on my door, making me sit up quickly. I walk to my door slowly, turning the knob slowly as I look out in the hallway to see who it was.
"Hey, Miko." Kakashi stands infront of me, giving me a half waves with his eyes closed in a smile. I instantly rush into his arms, giving him a tight hug without any explanation for my actions. He doesn't mind, hugging me back without any complaints.
"I came to drop off some kunai that you'd left at my house." Kakashi says once I pull away, holding them out to me. "Why is your house surrounded by Anbu?"
"Dad is just being precautious." I say, putting my finger to my lips. "Make sure you are quiet so Asuma doesn't hear you. He's in his room right now."
"Oh..." Kakashi lets me take his hand and lead him inside my room, closing the door carefully behind me. "Is something going on?"
"Orochimaru betrayed the village." I say, making Kakashi's eyes go wide in shock as I crawl back into my bed. I tug on him to join me, sliding over to make room. "He tried to trick me to run away with him."
"You were kidnapped?" Kakashi's eyes narrow as he slips into the bed beside me. "Why?"
"Jiraiya says that he wanted me for my eyes..." I say quietly, tucking my face into Kakashi's side as I feel sadness rush over me again. His arms wrap around me in response and he hugs me tightly.
"It's okay, Miko." He tells me, giving me another smile as I start to cry again. "It's okay." I must have been running on pure adrinaline, because I was crashing now. My body was completely drained of energy, not a drop left as I cry softly. My tears slow as sleep starts to crawl closer, Kakashi's warm body next to mine not helping me stay awake at all.
"...Thanks, Kashi.." I mumble to him, snuggling closer with a sleepy tone. "...love you.."
"Get some rest, Miko." He says, smiling as I crash beside him. "Love you too." He stays with me until he hears Lord Hokage step through the doors, which is when he snuck out through the window and last the Anbu Captain who stood guard. The captain watched seven year old Kakashi run along the rooftops, wondering how the heck he snuck into the house in the first place.
