Song- When Legends Rise by Godsmack
"My throat is dry, my visions faded. I'm paralyzed and left here waiting. Taking time, just one step forward. I'll lose my mind, I'm here to stay. It's burning down, it's burning high. When ashes fall, the legends rise. "

Himiko's pov!

After the whole Gato reveal, I was on edge. My nerves were sky high, and me not being able to see didn't help. Walking down the path, I didn't even know where we were. It's easier navigating somewhere I'm used to, like Konoha, than somewhere I've barely been. The darkness that I stare into is like a kunai lodged into my side, reminding me how useless I am right now. Kakashi hasn't said anything about it really, but I'm sure he would rather not have me here. He used to insist that I would just get injured when we were kids, that I would ruin the mission. I used to fight with him, insisting that I wasn't a liability. Now... I've never felt more useless. As an Anbu, if I went blind, I always had a partner to point me in a direction or to give me information. I haven't trained at all with Kakashi or any of the genin about how, and now it's too late. I sigh, walking carefully along the path. My hand was brushing against Kakashi's, showing me where he was. I never liked the darkness. It was a void in my head, pulling in everything. The steady reminder of Kakashi's hand brushing against mine helped push my fears back, so it wasn't as suffocating. Sasuke walked on my other side, I could hear his steady breathing. Naruto walked in front of me, babbling about who knows what. Sakura walked behind us, along side Tazuna. I could smell his sake from here.

"Watch out, Himi-Sensei!" Naruto says, hands pushing me to the ground. Just as my back hits the ground, I hear something slam into a tree in the distance. I blink, shooting up to my feet. My hands search for someone, finding a smallish hand. Their grip around me tightens, pulling me behind them.
"Stay here, Himiko-Sensei." Sasuke says, still holding onto my hand.

"Well, Well... Zabuza Momochi. A rouge ninja from the Village Hidden in the Mist." Kakashi says, voice coming from in front of me. Zabuza... I know that name. I hear a quick movement as if someone was running towards Zabuza, but I grab Naruto's collar and pull him close to me.
"This won't be your battle, Naruto." I say, glaring in the direction of Zabuza. "Get back."
"Why?" Naruto asks, struggling against my hold.
I hear a deep laugh, coming from the direction of Zabuza. "Oh?" Zabuza says, I could feel his eyes racking down my body. "What do we have here? A beautiful kunoichi? Hmm.."
"She's none of your business." Kakashi says, I could hear him walk closer towards Zabuza.
"He's not like those other shinobi, Naruto." I say, holding him. "He's out of your league." Naruto slowly gave up struggling and he watched Kakashi and Zabuza fight in an all out battle.

I couldn't see a thing, but I could tell that Kakashi was winning. Zabuza was growing irritated, fear building in his voice. Kakashi eventually had him pined, a kunai to his neck. Zabuza started laughing and I grew uneasy. After listening intently for a few more minutes, I could tell this was all going to hell. Kakashi was in trouble, trapped in some sort of water prison.
"You think wearing a headband makes you a shinobi." Zabuza says, voice slowly getting closer. "When you've hovered between life and death some many times it doesn't faze you, then you may be called a shinobi. When you've become so deadly your name is put into my bingo book, then you've earned the title shinobi. But to call upstarts like you shinobi, that's a joke." I hear Zabuza lunge at Naruto, but I quickly kick him away, sending him flying away from us before he could touch Naruto. I land back on the ground, sinking into a fighting position.

"Naruto. Sasuke. Sakura." I say, getting their attention. "Protect Tazuna. I want you to guide me to Zabuza and give me directions while fighting. Be my eyes, okay?"
"Be your eyes?" Naruto asks, watching me take a step towards Zabuza's voices. "How?"
"Just point me in a direction." I say, tilting my head towards him. "You'll get the hand of it. Just tell me what you'd do and I'll do it."
"Oh! Okay!" Naruto says, understanding. "He's to your uh... Right?"
I turn right, waiting for another direction.
"Uh? No! Not right, your left. I think.." Naruto says, panicking.
"He's to you left, about 20 degrees. He's getting up, Himiko." Sasuke says, voice calm and calculating. "He's grinning."
I adjust myself, glaring in the direction of Zabuza. "I won't let you lay a finger on my students, Rouge." I growl, voice full of determination. Kakashi watches from his prison, yelling for us to run.
"Go! Don't be stupid, Himiko!" He yells, "Finish the mission! Run!"
I ignore him, taking note to yell at him when this is over. Like I would ever abandon a comrade. He should know me better.
"Is that so?" His voice rumbles, the deep noise coming from in front of me. "We'll see about that, Himiko Sarutobi."
My eyebrow twitches and I tilt my head. "So you've heard of me?"
"I've heard many things about you. Supposedly you're the Yellow Flash's star pupil. Hopefully you live up to your reputation, Sarutobi." Zabuza says, his voice approaching closer. "You're in my bingo book."
"You're in mine as well." I say, preparing myself. "Perhaps I'll give you a taste of my reputation... If you give me some of yours."
He laughs, in a rumbly sort of way. "My mist won't effect you, not in this state. Are you blind, Sarutobi?"
I shrug, taking a step towards him. "It wouldn't matter either way. The ending will be the same."
I hear him lunges at me.
"To your left!" Sasuke says, "Jump!"
I listen, jumping into the air. I feel Zabuza's body brush against me, I had barely moved in time. I grab his neck, pulling him close to me. I flip him off my shoulder, slamming him into the ground. Mud and water splatters, flying into the air.
"It was just a clone, Sensei!" Sakura yells. "He's actually to your right!"
"21 degrees!" Sasuke yells, "50 yards!"
"Sasuke! Naruto!" I yell, facing towards Zabuza. "Come here! Sakura stay with Tazuna!" I tell them my plan and they nod, getting ready. I do a couple of hand signs, multiple shadow clones appearing around me. Unlike me, their eyes were seeing. They were not blind.

"What are you doing, Himiko?!" Kakashi yells again, "I told you to run! Stick with the mission! Get the bridge builder to safety! Leave! It's an order!"
"Shut up, Hatake!" I yell, glaring in his direction, sick of his directions. "I'm not leaving you! We're not abandoning anyone!"
"Yeah!" Naruto yells, standing next to me. "Let's take this guy down!" Sasuke nods in agreement, arm brushing against mine.

"Big words from such a little boy." Zabuza says, watching us. "All you are is two kids and a blind woman. Stop playing hero."
"Tazuna-san!" I yell, tilting my head towards him. "Do I have your permission to kick this man's ass?!"
"S-Sure!" Tazuna yells back, "Go ahead!"
I grin, turning back to face Zabuza. "Well, Zabuza-kun..." I smirk at him. "...I'm about to show you what a demon really looks like..."

My clones lunge at him, at the same time Sasuke throws a shuriken. "Demon Wind Shuriken: Windmill of Shadows!" Sasuke yells.
"Just some clones and a Shuriken?" Zabuza asks, unfazed. "You'll never touch me with that." I wait for a couple more seconds, listing for what was going on. "See? I told you'll they'll never touch me."

"Eat this!!" Naruto yells, doing exactly what I had told him. Zabuza was forced to let go of the prison, kunai cutting his cheek.
"I'll destroy you!!" Zabuza yells, lunging at me. Just as he would reach me, I was pushed to the ground, someone standing over me. Liquid drips into me, water mixed with something a little thicker. I blink, frowning slightly. Is that blood?
"Stay down, Himiko." Kakashi says, standing over me.
"That was a fluke." Zabuza says, an excuse flying from his lips. "I got distracted and lost my grip on the water prison."
"Don't flatter yourself." Kakashi growls, voice full of venom. "You were forced to let go."
"Huh?" Zabuza asks. I could feel how tense Kakashi was standing over me. My muscles screamed for me to stand beside him, but my brain told me to stay down.
"So what will it be?" Kakashi asks, breaking the silence. "Your technique worked on me once, but it won't work again."
Zabuza doesn't reply, his mind searching for a plan. I could feel the angry radiating off of Kakashi. I hear something move in the distance and I tilt my head, someone is over there in the trees... I hear Kakashi grunt, forcing himself forward, fighting against Zabuza. I hear Zabuza jump back.

"Water style! Water Dragon Jutsu!" Kakashi and Zabuza yell in unison. Kakashi has been using Sharingan this entire time, it's draining his energy. He must be exhausted... Water pushed against me, slamming roughly against my skin. I stumble, having not braced for it at all. I listened as they battle, Kakashi convincing Zabuza that the Sharingan have him the power to see the future... Sounds kinda familiar, if you ask me... The battle came to a standstill and I hear a body hit the ground, with a loud thud. I stumble forward, feeling around for anyone.
"W-What happened?" I ask, moving forward.
"An elite tracking shinobi carried Zabuza off. He's dead." Kakashi says, voice in the distance. An elite shinobi? Someone collapses, falling to my feet.
"Kakashi-Sensei?!" Sakura yells, voice running towards us.
"He pushed himself to hard." Sasuke says, already standing at my side.
I laugh, kneeling beside Kakashi's unconscious body. "He's just trying to avoid punishment. Just wait until he wakes up, guys..." I say, anger mixes with my voice. "I'm going to teach him a lesson."
"Heh, Himi-Sensei is going to be Kakashi-Sensei's sensei!" Naruto yells, pumping his arms. "Give it to him good!"
"Yep." I say, feeling around for Kakashi's body. My hands brush against something hard-ish, like muscle.
"That's his butt, Himi." Naruto says, cracking up.
My eyes narrow, looking up towards Naruto. "I can't see! How am I supposed to know what's what?!" I say, turning back to Kakashi. "Help me put him on my back! Let's get moving!"
Sasuke helps me lift him, placing him onto my back. Kakashi's arms loop around my neck and I grip him legs tightly so he doesn't fall. His head rests lazily on my shoulder and his hair was tossled into my face. I laugh quietly, readjusting him in my arms. He wasn't as heavy as I thought he was going to be, but, as we stared to walk,  I could feel his muscles against my back. Sasuke's hand rests in mine, leading me the rest of the way to Tazuna's village.
