Song- Natural by Imagine Dragons
"You hold the line, when every one of them is giving up and giving in. Tell me, in this house of mine, nothing ever comes without a consequence or cost. Tell me, will the stars align? Will heaven step in? Will they save us from our sin? Will it? 'Cause this house of mine stands strong. That's the price you pay. Leave behind your heart and cast it away. Just another product of today. Rather be the hunter than the prey. And your standing on the edge, face up, cause you're a natural. "

Himiko's pov.

Apparently a giant toad had dropped Naruto off. Gama Bunta, without a doubt. I laugh, sitting on Naruto's hospital bed.
"You did good, Ruto. Gama isn't a tadpole, that's for sure." I say, fluffing his hair. He was still unconscious and he didn't wake up at all last night. I yawn, stretching my arms above my head. I didn't get any sleep last night because I was busy watching Naruto. The door opens, calling my attention. Shikamaru wakes in, smiling at me.
"Hello, Himi." He says, carrying a fruit basket and something else under his arm.
"Hey, Maru." I say, waving at him. "Whatcha got under your arm?"
"It's shogi." He says, placing it down on the ground. "Do you know how to play?"
"Yeah. Your dad taught me a while back." I say, sitting on the ground next to him. "Do you want to play?"
"Sure." Shikamaru says, sitting on the other side of the board. He looked at what I was wearing, quirking his eyebrow. "Did you go home last night?"
"I just teleported in and out." I say, looking at my shorts and sweatshirt. "I needed to check on Raiden anyway."
Shikamaru nods, setting up the game pieces.

Fast forward!

"You're a lot better than Asuma." Shikamaru says, smiling at me. I laugh, grinning back.
"Shikaku taught me everything I know." I say, twirling Shikamaru's king in my fingers. "You're pretty good as well. Asuma told me of your skills, not that he really knows the extent."
"I planned out your moves in advance..." He says, frowning slightly. "How did you even win?"
"Over years of playing with your father, I developed a strategy." I say, winking. "Do the opposite of what you think that I would do. I've only ever beat him twice."
"That's such a drag." Shikamaru says, sighing. "I should have guessed you would do something like that."
I laugh, grabbing a green apple from his basket. I take a bite, yawning. I stand up, stretching.
"I'm going to go get some coffee, Maru." I say, heading to the door. "I'll be back real quick."

I walk down the hallway, finding my way to the vending machines in the back of the hospital. I search my pockets, trying to find a couple of bills. I eventually find a couple of ones and I grin, celebrating silently. I look over the selection of cold coffee, admiring all the choices.
"Hmm... Carmel or dark chocolate..." I tap my foot, being indecisive.
"The honey lemon tea is pretty good." Gai says, standing behind me. I quickly turn around, giving him a huge hug.
"Gai!" I say, tears building around my eyes. "D-Did you hear about Lee?"
"..." His arms around me tighten, placing his chin on my head. "He'll pull through... with the power of youth."
"Heh." I laugh softly, wiping my eyes. "Believe it."
"Have you visited him yet?" Gai asks, smiling softly at me. I nod, returning the smile.
"I've visit him almost every single day." I say, putting my money in the machine. "I'm surprised I haven't ran into you at all."
"I've been in and out." Gai says, leaning against the wall. "Neji had been training for tomorrow."
"I wish him the best." I say, taking out the tea from the machine. "My own boys have been training as well."
"Neji was placed against Naruto. Are you going to watch?" Gai asks, watching me take a drink of the tea.
"Yum." I say, taking another swig. "Yeah, I'm watching. Naruto will surprise you, I'm sure if it. I'm actually glad that he got Neji. They're so different, and I'm sure Naruto will give him a lecture about his attitude."
Gai laughs, shrugging. "Maybe Neji will surprise you as well."
"I also hope he does. They're both my students." I say, winking at Gai. "Let's go visit Lee. I miss him."
"Yes, his youth is something to be missed." Gai says, linking our arms. "Let us go."
