TW: Implied starving oneself, toxic thinking
Roman shut his eyes and ignored the gnawing hunger in his stomach, ignored the cravings of a decent meal.
He couldn't lose progress. Not now. Not ever. If he was the perfect prince, he had to skip meals and work tirelessly and live off of water.
A prince shouldn't be fat. He shouldn't be short. He shouldn't be messy and unkempt when talking to friends.
A prince should be brave.
Too bad, Roman didn't feel very brave. He sobbed himself to sleep daily.
A prince's hair should be perfect.
It was never perfect to begin with. The white in his hair took up an overwhelmingly large portion of it. He dyed his hair but it never stuck. He combed his hair, only for it to become messy not long after.
A prince couldn't stop until he got his work done.
He snapped an elastic band against his wrist if he ever thought of resting.
A prince had to be perfect.
