Chapter 7 – Confessions and Findings

Omniscient

Although the drive to Richmond was an hour, Chris got there within 30. He parked his car and rushed to the elevator. He sighed in anticipating waiting on the slow machine to reach his level. His heat shot up once he heard the door open. He got in and pressed the ground level button.

"C'mon man fucking close!" He mumbled. The love of his life was probably fighting for her life and the elevator was taking all day as if he had time. The door finally closed after two minutes and moved downward to the ground floor. It stopped, the doors opened and he faced the busy street that was in front of him.

He crossed the street to the entrance of the hospital. "Chris Brown!" A reporter yelled getting everyone's attention. There were now flashing lights and screaming reporters trying to get an exclusive with the star but he ignored them, pushing his way through the sward of musty people.

"Get the fuck outta my face." He grumbled to a reporter whose camera was blocking his view. "Chris what's your relation with Beyoncé!? Did you ever abuse her!?" Chris stopped and turned to the reporter. He quickly grabbed his camera and slammed it on the ground. He stomped on it, not taking his eyes from the shorter man who stared in shook.

"My camera!" He yelled hysterically. Chris gave him a once over then pushed the other people out of his way. He was able to enter the lobby of the ER without any more interference. He approached the front desk and the receptionist stared at him with a bored expression.

"What room is Beyoncé Knowles in?" he asked the lady who was filing her nails. "Relation to the patient?" She asked then released annoyance laced in her voice. Her breath reeked of cigarettes causing Chris to step back. "Look, I need to see her so stop being rude and tell me her room number." He instructed the woman. She looked at him then rolled her eyes before typing away at the computer.

"I swear black people be doing the most sometimes." He sighed, waiting for her to give him the information. She turned her gaze away from the screen to the nerved wrecked man. "She's in room 103 on the third floor." He rolled his eyes walking away from the desk.

He saw a large group of people standing by the elevator and skipped pass them for the stairs. He scaled them, skipping as much as his long legs could stretch over. He got to the floor and read the sign. He turned left walking down the hall then made another right.

Counting the numbers on the door, his heart started pounding in his chest the closer he got to her door. He stood in front of her door trying to collect himself. He didn't want her to see the worried exterior so he quickly straightened himself out. He turned the nod, pushing the door inwards. The sweet southern voice of Beyoncé filled the room as she laughed with her cousin.

They noticed the door opening and all attention was now on Chris. Beyoncé saw him and her face lit up. She tried to pull herself to sit up but the slight pain in her abdomen caused a worried expression to overtake Chris's face.

"Giselle stop moving and relax." He instructed and she followed his orders. He closed the door and greeted the other four persons and her daughter. He walked over to her bed and reached for her hand. "Chris—" He shushed her by placing a kiss on her bruised knuckles.

"Why you fighting people mama?" He asked softly. He looked at her face and saw the hurt that covered it. He sighed dropping his head. He looked around the room and everyone was quietly watching them except her daughter who was occupied with the show in the iPad screen.
