Chapter 15 - THE SUDDEN CHANGE

CARLO POV

"Ang Friday Gang! I'm dead."

Grabe yung kaba ko na makita na naman ang grupo na'to. I don't understand but whenever I saw them there's something bad that is happening to me. It's like a curse.

"Ah, Carlo. I'm sorry but you have to multitask today. Yung supposed to be waiter natin na first day today ay umabsent dahil may migraine daw. We have no choice but to let you get the order and serve them. Don't worry, that means double pay as well." paliwanag ng manager.

"But... "

I have no choice. I'm not really that in need of money to do all of these. Isa pa, of all the days, bakit ngayon pa! Pero wala na akong nagawa kundi i-follow ang instruction ng manager.

"Can I get you order?"

That was nerve racking. Those people are really something. I have to be careful. Baka mamaya mapagtripan din ako ng mga 'to.

Okay, Crème brulee! Check! Okay, complete na! Everything looks fine! I'll serve it to them na.

"Here are your orders! Please be careful because it's hot!" sabi ko na medyo nervous pa.

"Ganyan ba talaga kapag rich boy! Kailangan may English? I spoken English to you my friend! Do you like my spokening dollars?" sabi ni Arden.

"Gago! Lakas ng tama mo ngayon ha! Umuwi ka nalang at mamahaw!" sagot ng I think si Charles.

"Orders Complete! Is there anything else I can help you with?" tanong ko.

Hoo! Kinabahan ako dun ah. But I'm glad na mukhang masaya naman sila sa service ko. There are a lot of customers today. Focus, Carlo!

After serving the orders of the Friday Gang. I went back to my station.

"Ipis!"

"Bakit may ipis?"

Nagulat ako when a familiar voice shouted that there is a cockroach. Nagmadali akong pumunta dun to check and realized that she's one of the Friday Gang.

"Ano ba namang serbisyo 'to! I want to talk to your manager!", utos ni Charles.

"Yes, sir?"

I didn't notice that our manager is around.

"May ipis yung kapeng sinerve samin nung lalaki na 'yan! Ano ba 'to? First time namin dito tapos ganito na kaagad? Saka bakit s'ya ang gumagawa ng lahat?" tanong ni Charles.

The conversation is really intense. I don't know what to feel but I am very sure that I checked everything bago ko sinerve sa kanila.

"Ah sorry sir, we. . "

Bigla nalang tumayo si Charles and he asked the group to step out as well. Ako naman, kahit alam ko na wala naman akong ginawang masama ay feeling guilty pa rin.

"Carlo, we have to talk! In my office, please!"

I just stared at her. She looks very tired and disappointed. Alam ko na kahit anong explain ang gawin ko ay hindi s'ya maniniwala because "The customer is always right."

"Carlo, what happened?" tanong n'ya.

"Ma'am, I. . I actually don't know. I am sure na na-check ko lahat ang orders nila bago ko sinerve. I don't know where that cockroach came from." sagot ko.

"Do you know them?"

"Yes, Ma'am! They are my classmates."

"Actually, Carlo. We are quite hesitant to hire a student kahit na part-time dahil nga nangyayari ang mga ganito. Bullying and all that. Naniniwala naman ako na hindi mo talaga ginawa 'yun. You've been with us for two months na and like what I have said, you brought a lot of customers here. Triple ang kita ng café ngayon. But Carlo, this is not the first time that this happened to our café, in the other branches, nangyari narin 'to. Actually mas malala pa nga and we don't want this to happen again. I'm sorry but those people might come back here in the future and do the same thing."

"But Ma'am, I can assure you that it's not my fault. I am doing my best for the café."

"Yes, I understand, Carlo. But the reputation of the café is at stake now. Baka bukas magsara na kami dahil akala ng iba ay marumi ang sineserve namin. I'm sorry pero matagal ko na rin 'tong pinag-isipan."

"Carlo, this is your last day. I will give you your last pay later before you leave."

"But Ma'am?"

"I'm sorry but that's final!"

Wala na akong nagawa. After saying that last statement ay umalis na rin s'ya kaagad. I can't believe that this will happen to me.

That gang just ruined my plans.

What will I do now?

While thinking about what happened, the face of that girl kept on popping in my mind.

S'ya ang may kasalanan nito. Sinet-up n'ya ako.
