Yellow wants to regain Steven's trust, but it won't be easy.

"Steven, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you," Yellow said to Steven. He was in bed, all curled up. He simply turned away from her, not responding.

Yellow sighed, going back downstairs. "I don't understand."

"Yellow, you still haven't told him why you made them," Blue said. "You haven't told him about the cluster."

"I'm afraid he'll be even angrier at me," Yellow said. "White, how did he forgive you so quickly?"

"I don't know," White said. "I guess I was straight up about my bad deeds."

"You hid them from him too," Yellow said.

"Yea, but Steven had to discover what you did on his own," Blue said. "Maybe he would've been less angry if you explained the cluster to him prior."

"I don't think him learning I wanted to destroy Earth is going to do any good for me," Yellow said. "While we're on the topic, when will you tell him about the zoo, Blue?"

"I-" Blue's breath hitched. "This isn't about me right now, Yellow!!"

"Blue's right," White said. "She will find her own way to explain that to Steven at a later date. Right now, you need to go up there and tell Steven about the geoweapon."

"He's going to never speak to me again," Yellow worried.

"He forgives quickly, Yellow. You'll be alright," Blue reassured. "We'll be down here if you need help."

Yellow sighed. "Alright. I can do this."

"Steven," Yellow sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Go away," Steven mumbled.

"I want to explain something to you," Yellow said. "About the mutants. I told you I made them, but I didn't tell you why. Would you like to know why?"

"Yes," Steven said, obviously irritated. He sat up to look at Yellow.

"I was... angry about Pink," Yellow said. "But I refused to waste Earth's potential. The planet is rich with recourses for making gems, so I decided that this planet would be perfect to test..." She took a deep breath. "A weapon."

"A weapon?" Steven looked at her.

"A gem geoweapon made of... made of billions of gem shards. I call it the cluster," Yellow said. "This... thing is incubating in the Earth's core as we speak, and when it emerges, it will... destroy the Earth."

Steven's eyes widened. "W-why would you-"

"I didn't know Pink was alive. I didn't know that ANY gems were alive. I would've never thought to-"

"But there's other life!!" Steven argued. "Did you not care about the life here?"

"I didn't. Not in the slightest," Yellow said. "But now I do. My eyes have been opened to the horrors of colonization and the effects it has on planets. This planet is... not perfect, but it's your home. There are other planets that other beings call home, and we've been destroying worlds because of our greed."

"But this... cluster. What does it have to do with the mutants?" Steven asked.

"Those mutants were test subjects," Yellow said. "And the fact that they were emerging now is not good, because that means the cluster is due to emerge very soon."

"HOW DO WE STOP IT?!" Steven cried.

"I... I don't know," Yellow said, worried. "But I promise on my gem that we will find a way. I refuse to let this planet die. I see it as my home now, and I will protect it till the day I shatter."

Steven looked at her. He didn't know what to say.

"Are you still angry at me?" Yellow asked.

"Very," Steven said. "I understand now, but I can't forgive you."

"I understand," Yellow said. "I've lost your trust."

"Can you swear that if you get your power on homeworld back, you will never do something like this again?" Steven asked.

Yellow took Steven's hand, looking him in the eye. "I swear."

Steven smiled. "Thanks."

Yellow came back downstairs to greet Blue and White.

"Told you," Blue said, smiling.

"He said he's still mad though," Yellow said. "Which he has the right to be."

"I can guarantee you'll fix things," White said. "The cluster won't emerge for a while, we have time. I promise."

"And we'll find a way to make sure it never takes form," Blue said. "I promise."

Yellow smiled.
