Connie wants to be a sword fighter.

This is one of them short chapters so I can get some plot points in.

Steven was on the beach when he suddenly saw Connie approaching him. His eyes lit up.

"Hey, Connie!!" Steven ran up to her.

"Steven!!" She ran to him, and they hugged. "Where were you?"

"Oh, talking a forced fusion of a bazillion gem shards into not destroying the Earth," Steven said.

"...WHAT?!" Connie looked at him, aghast.

"Oh!! And Peridot's a good guy now, and she and Lapis are living in the barn together!!" Steven said.

"Alright then..." Connie said uneasily. "So, I came over cause I had a question for the Diamonds."

"Hm?" Steven looked at her.

"I've been thinking, and I really wanna help out in your missions," Connie said. "I want to be a sword fighter!"

"Really?! That's awesome!!" Steven said. "Yellow's the expert sword fighter, she can train you!!"

"Did I hear something about sword fighting?"

Connie and Steven turned to see Yellow walk over.

"Yellow!!" Both smiled.

"Can you teach me to sword fight?" Connie asked.

Yellow smiled. "I would love to."

The three of them soon found themselves in the ancient sky arena.

"This is an Ancient Sky Arena, Connie, where some of the first battles for Earth took place." Yellow said. "Well... battles against Pink. I can't exactly say it was pleasant." She looked into the distance before snapping back to look at Connie. "Anyhow, not only is a sword a weapon, but it is a part of you." She pulled out two swords from her gem, handing one to Connie.

"How did you even learn to sword fight?" Steven asked.

"Believe it or not, when I emerged, I had not mastered my lightning. White insisted I learn to use a weapon in case my lightning failed. I chose the sword," Yellow said.

"How did Blue and White choose their weapons?" Steven asked.

"I helped Blue pick out her weapon eons ago, I can vividly remember it. White... I have no idea. She chose her weapon long before any of us other diamonds emerged. We're getting off track," Yellow's gem began to glow, and a holo-Yellow appeared. "Connie, this Holo-Yellow will be your opponent."

"Level 0, beginner, set." The Holo-Yellow said. "Do you wish to engage in combat?"

"Yes!" Connie said excitedly.

Steven went over to the bench to watch Connie and the Holo-Yellow fight. Steven watched with interest.

The lessons soon became more and more frequent. Connie was getting better and better...

It was warm, summer morning. Connie ran into the house ready to train. "Hi, Guys!!"

"Hi, Connie!!" Steven smiled. "Hey, uhh, I was thinking... I want to train with you."

"Really?" Connie looked at him.

"I mean, you've been doing a lot with Yellow, and I want to be alongside you!!" Steven said.

"I mean, it can't hurt to ask," Connie said.

"Ask me what?" Yellow asked.

"Oh!! Steven wants to train with us!!" Connie said.

Yellow looked a bit taken aback. "I'm not sure if that's a good idea..."

"What? Why not?" Steven asked. "I'm a Diamond!! I can help!! I want to fight alongside Connie!!"

"You're half human, Steven," Yellow said.

"But I'm just as important as you!!" Steven yelled.

Suddenly, a flashback flew by Yellow's eyes.

"THEN WHY DON'T YOU ACT LIKE IT, PINK?"

"...Alright, you can train with us," Yellow said.

"Awesome!!" Steven smiled.
