Catch and Release

Peridot kidnaps Steven.

Steven was getting ready for bed. He brushed his teeth, changed into his pajamas, and cleaned his gem.

He then dived into his bed. "Goodnight, Happy Bear. Goodnight, Sad Bunny. Goodnight, Playful Kitty. Goodnight, Ominous Triangle at the foot of my bed."

He closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again to see the Ominous Triangle had disappeared. "Ugh, whatever." He then closed his eyes once again.

Suddenly, Peridot covered Steven's mouth, causing him to scream, his voice muffled.

"Aargh, let me go!" Steven screamed while being carried by Peridot.

"Enough of this!" She sighed, letting him go.

"What do you want from me?" Steven asked.

"I want, to get off this lousy gem-forsaken planet!" Peridot said.

"Huh?" Steven cocked his head to the side.

"You have to fix this!" She pointed at the warp pad. "You're my last chance. I've got no Flask Robonoids. I've got no response from the new authority!" She took a deep breath. "I know you fixed Lazuli's gem. Whatever you did, you've got to do it to the Homeworld Warp! Or else!!"

"Oh, o-okay, just give me a second! My mouth gets really dry when I'm scared." He licked his palm. "Here goes!" He slapped the warp with his hand, but nothing happened.

"What was that?! It didn't do ANYTHING!" Peridot complained.

"It... doesn't always work." Steven said hesitantly.

"No no no no no! It HAS to work!" Peridot panicked. "This was it... This was my last shot!" She curled up. "I'm gonna die here! Noooooh, oh-"

"Hey, hey- come on! Earth isn't that bad..." Steven said.

"It doesn't matter what Earth is like! It's not going to be like anything soon!" Peridot said.

"The cluster..." Steven said to himself in realization.

"You KNOW about the cluster?!" Peridot stared at him.

"I live with the Diamonds!! Of course I do!!" Steven said. "Do you know how to stop it?"

"I... I might," Peridot said. "You can't let me die here!! PLEASE!!"

"ENOUGH!!"

Suddenly, a jet of electricity shot at Peridot, poofing her.

"Yellow?!" Steven turned to see her.

"Are you ok?" Yellow asked.

"Yea, I'm fine," Steven said, standing up. "Why are parts of her on the ground?"

"Those are limb enhancers," Yellow said, picking up Peridot's gem. "They make gems taller, more or less." She then kicked the limb enhancers into the ocean.

"Oh," Steven said. "Yellow, I think she can help us destroy the cluster!!"

"She can't," Yellow bubbled the gem, sending it off. "Trust me."

Steven couldn't sleep. He wanted to get Peridot out of that bubble.

Suddenly, his gem glowed, and the door to his room opened. He ran inside. "Room, I need to go to the basement. The real basement! I know there's a way down from here!"

The clouds parted to show Steven one of the crystal heart veins. "Thank you!!" Steven ran over to it, sliding down. Once he made it in there, he started looking for Peridot's gem. "Hmm. There we go!" He grabbed it. Suddenly, he fell off the vein, accidentally popping the bubble.
