The Diamond Authority

The Diamonds face off against Hessonite.

Steven was thrown into a prison cell by the Topaz guard. He stood up, looking at Hessonite. "Why are you doing this?! The Diamonds are gonna come for you, Y'know."

"Oh, I'm fully aware," Hessonite said. "But that's an issue for later. You're nothing but a measly organic. You should be lucky I'm sparing you at all."

"Hessonite, what are you getting out of this? Yes, the Diamonds were bad, but they've changed!!" Steven said. "Earth changed them for the better and helped them realize-"

"I don't care what the morals of the Diamonds are," Hessonite said. "They ruined this planet. Then I found out that they were stranded. I decided to take charge and give this planet the leader it needs, a leader who can actually get things done. Any gem who fails me is shattered."

"That's awful," Steven frowned. "You're sick!!"

Hessonite laughed menacingly. "You're so silly, organic. Do you seriously think you know anything about what it means to be a leader?"

"I do, actually," Steven said. "A leader takes care of their people. A leader is kind, caring, and when they make a mistake, they own up to it. Blue made the human zoo, Yellow made the cluster, White... did a lot. She even hurt me by accident!! But deep down, they're good people. They care deeply for Homeworld, and want only the best."

Hessonite looked at Steven.

"Do you care about other gems, Hessonite?" Steven looked her in the eye. "Or do you only care about power?"

"...I'm done listening to this thing ramble on," Hessonite said to her Topaz guards. "I need to sit down." She then walked away, leaving the room with her guards, leaving Steven alone.

Yellow paced back and forth, panicking. Blue was straight up crying, and White was about to lose her shit.

"We can't just STAND here!! We don't know what she's doing to Steven!!" Yellow said.

"We've failed him!!" Blue cried. "He's probably so scared!!"

"Wait," White said. "I think I might know a way to get into the palace."

"Huh?" Blue and Yellow looked at her.

"There's a secret back door to my palace," White said. "If we can sneak in through there, we should be near where Hessonite is likely holding Steven."

"How are we going to get to this back door?" Yellow asked. "If you haven't noticed, we're not parked on top of your palace, and Hessonite will probably shoot down our ship if we try to move it."

"Hm," White thought for a moment, then had an idea. "Can I still make bubbles?"

"What?" Blue looked at her. "Of course!! All gems can make bubbles!!"

"No no no, not those bubbles, I'm talking about... those, bubbles," White said.

"Ohhhh," Blue realized what she meant. "Doesn't hurt to try, right?"

"Both of you, stand with me," White said. Blue and Yellow walked over to White. White closed her eyes for a moment when suddenly the three of them were encapsulated by an opaque, white bubble.

"You did it!!" Blue smiled.

"Let's move," White said as she moved the bubble towards her palace. It didn't take long, and soon, they were in. White popped the bubble, and the Diamonds found themselves in White's chambers.

"We're in," White said. "Let's find Steven."

Lucky for Steven, the force field holding him prisoner was identical to the one on the hand ship he was trapped in not too long ago. He escaped easily, shaking off the electricity.
