I heard the loud sound of the bell and I raised my head to glance outside. Nakikita ko na ang mga bampira na pumapasok sa palasyo.
They will witness the coronation of their new king and queen. Kahit na labag sa kalooban ko ay wala na akong magagawa. I’ve decided I want to return the favor kaya ko’to gagawin.
I heard a knock on the door and just looked at it. Bumukas naman ito at pumasok si Luna at Valerie. I’m in one of the rooms here in the palace.
They built this after Drace’ death dahil ito daw ang gusto nya, to build his kingdom here. The palace is also located far from the humans.
“Hey Jess... It’s time,” Luna said and she gave me a worried look. Pinilit ko namang ngumiti, I’m doing this for them.
“S-Sige,” sabi ko lang at lumabas sa kwarto. Tinulungan naman nila ako sa mahaba kong gown and we walked towards where the coronation will be held.
“You’re much prettier now Jess, cheer up okay?” Valerie tried to cheer me up and I just nodded.
“Wag kang kabahan, Jess! Dapat ipakita mo na malakas ka! Na deserving ka maging next queen,” Luna and I just let out a deep sigh.
“Eh hindi ko naman ginusto na maging queen. And I’m not strong. Tss binobola mo lang ako eh,” sabi ko at napanguso.
“Of course not! We witnessed what you’ve been through recently and you handled it well,” Valerie.
Hindi na ako nagsalita dahil wala naman akong gustong sabihin. Gusto ko nang matapos ‘to.
“You know what? You should consider yourself lucky. You’re marrying a royal blood, Jess! And have you seen the crown? It’s so cute! Ipahiram mo sakin yun ah?” Luna said with glittering eyes and I just rolled my eyes.
“Eh di palit nalang tayo ng posisyon,” How I wish.
“No thanks, I’m happy with my life. And I know you’ll be in for a shock once the crown is placed in his head. I can’t wait to see it! It’s like living in a fairytale,” she said dreamily and I shot her with a confused look.
“Bakit? Ano bang mangyayari?”
“It’s nothing like ordinary...well nothing is ordinary in the vampire world. It glows when placed in the head of the next heir,” Valerie explained and my eyes grew wide.
“Ganun?! So ibig sabihin iilaw din ang korona pag pinatong sa ulo ko? Instant flashlight?” I asked and they both laughed.
“It only works for the royal bloods,” Luna said at napatango ako lang ako.
As we walked... hindi ko mapigilang kabahan. I want to turn back. I really do! But what about them? I know it’ll be a big mess...and Soul, I can’t let him down.
Yesterday we met and promised each other we’ll make this work. And I trust him!
But I have this feeling... telling me to turn away. Urgh! I’m so messed up! What am I –
“Jess, we’re here.” Nagulat ako sa sinabi ni Luna at napalingon ako sa paligid. All pair of eyes was on me! Even Soul’s whose waiting for me in the end of the aisle. I tried to hide my nervousness but the more I resist parang mas lumalala.
I calmed down when Luna held my hand and hugged me... so I hugged her back.
“It’s okay,” she said and patted my back. I gave my thanks and glanced at my friends standing beside me. Nakita ko din si Iolana, I met her a few years back, she gave me a smile at lumapit sya sakin and hugged me.
