I knocked on the door of the Curtis house and stood there waiting for someone to answer.
I heard footsteps coming and the door creaked open.
It was Ponyboy.
"Hi Ponyboy." I greeted him with a smile.
He tried forcing a smile on his face. I guess he wasn't over what happened with all of us yesterday.
"You okay?" He asked sympathetically, "Cus, I-I heard the bad the stuff Dal did to you before at the gas station, then Soda explained to me...I-I didn't know that happened to you. Dal is tough and mean, I know that he likes to push ladies' buttons and annoy them...but I never knew he would do those kind of things to you. He never does those things to any girl he sees, at least that's what I've seen."
"I'm alright." I assured him, "I'm so sorry you had to hear that Pony."
"Nah, I heard worst." He shrugged while slightly chuckling, then he lightly slapped his head, "Shoot, where are my manners. Here, come inside."
I nodded and walked inside. I sat on the couch and he went into the kitchen to grab a glass of water for me.
"Thanks." I said, taking a sip.
"No problem." He said as he plopped down right beside me.
"Is it just you here?" I asked, looking around the empty house.
"Yeah." He said, "Darry's at work and everyone'll be here soon. Have you heard from Dallas? Cus we haven't seen him since and we always see him everyday."
"I saw him after the incident yesterday. We forgave each other which is good. That's actually the reason why I came here, I want to tell everyone that Dal is good now, he didn't really mean for all of that to happen."
"Whew, that is good to hear."
We both sat in silence, waiting for the door to bust open any moment with the gang pouring in.
There was muffled talking and footsteps  outside then the door opened. Right on time.
"Pony!" Soda called out as he looked around, "We're back!"
Two, Johnny, and Steve followed in afterwards with Two being last and slamming the door.
They spotted me on the couch and I could sense the awkwardness in the air.
"Oh!" Soda exclaimed, "H-Hey Y/N."
"Hi, guys." I said as I stood up off the couch, "How are you holding up?"
"Okay, I guess." Soda responded with a shrug, "But you should be the one we're asking about."
Two and Steve agreed.
"No, no." I said, shaking my head, "You guys were dragged into this too. I came here to check on y'all but I mostly came to talk with y'all about Dal."
Steve wore a frown on his face when I mentioned Dal. Soda started to get nervous. Johnny's eyes slightly widened then his head hung a bit from sadness, but I could also tell he was worried about Dallas too. I knew that Johnny and Dally were really close because they would always be right by each other's side.
Two had a look of confusion on his face. He crossed his arms and cocked an eyebrow.
Then Soda loudly cleared his throat.
"Pony," He said, "You are excused."
Pony nodded and quickly walked to his room, closing the door behind him.
They all gathered around the living room to listen to me speak.
"What happened with Dal?" Johnny asked.
"He can get shot for all I care." Steve scoffed.
His comment made Johnny's eyes widen.
"Oh, shut your trap." Two shushed Steve, "Now you don't mean that and you know it. Dally is one of us and he has his own problems to worry about too. Plus, your treatment from Dal was nothing compared to what Y/N went through and she's fine so quit with that attitude."
That made him shut up big time.
An awkward silence filled the living room.
"About Dal?" Soda asked, breaking the silence.
"Oh, yes." I said, "I spoke with him yesterday after what happened. I spotted him alone and looking miserable. He didn't say anything bad when I talked to him and he was trying to apologize to me and for the whole scene. He told me the reason why he snapped was because he thought Soda was cheating Sandy for me when that wasn't the truth. I guess we're good now."
Everyone relaxed and sighed of relief.
"But why would he get mad at me?" Soda asked, "He hits on girls all the time, and he's with Sylvia. I doesn't make sense, anyway, where is Dal now?"
"I don't know." I shrugged.
"I'm pretty sure he's at Buck's." Johnny suggested, "He stays there pretty often. Every time I try to find him he's always there or causing trouble."
"I see..." I said, thinking.
"Well," Soda happily said while getting up off the couch, "I'm glad this situation has been fixed and that you and Dal have made up."
"Seriously?!" Steve exclaimed, "He threatened to pull a knife on ya! He even harassed Y/N nonstop! How could y'all justforgive him like that? He threatened all of us! Even Johnnycake!"
"Because, Steve." Soda explained calmly, "Dal is our buddy. Like Two said, he's one of us and he's family. He would never hurt us on purpose, and you know that. Y/N said that Dal is sorry for his mistakes, so we should forgive him."
Johnny and I smiled. Two chuckled and crossed his arms while cocking an eyebrow.
Finally, Steve surrendered.
"Yeah, you're right." He sighed.
Everyone went up and left separate ways around the house.
I smiled to myself because everything was fixed now.
But as Johnny was going to walk out the front door, I stopped him.
"Wait, Johnny." I said to him.
"Yeah?" He asked, turning around.
"Could you maybe tell me where Buck's is?"
