I don't own any of the characters. All credit goes to the Epic J.K. Rowling of course and always.

"Defence Against the Dark Arts for Beginners? I mean honestly, we're not children!" Hermione huffed, smacking her book down on the couch. We had our first Defence Against the Dark Arts class with Umbridge and that night, we sat in the common room and Ginny joined after nine.

"The Ministry is just trying to emphasize on the word school here. They don't believe in children thinking they are above their power. It's an absurd theory of Fudge and Umbridge's that Dumbledore will use his students and power to overthrow the Ministry. I mean honestly, how thick can they get?" Ginny shook her head, "Anyway, Dumbledore's got me to keep an eye out for Umbridge since she's claimed for my assistance by suggesting that he was obliged to help the Ministry and by extension to herself. That may be a bit difficult for me but at least that'll help with keeping that toad at bay." Ginny sighed.

"What do you mean by belong?" I asked.

"Erm, like she can ask me to do things for her. Get jobs done for her."

"Do you have a say in it?" Hermione asked.

"No. But Dumbledore does. I run all my tasks through him, since he is my sorcerer and no rule can stop that. So I don't think she can arrange anything against Dumbledore from me because Apprentices are bound to their sorcerers by severe loyalty."

"And if you fail to complete a task...?"

"I get reported and then it's between Dumbledore and the Ministry to decide. Lucky for us, I've got Dumbledore." She shrugged. She was right, Dumbledore was trying to keep things under control and one thing he knew was how to get things done no matter what, so whatever Ginny was going to be asked to do wouldn't be out of her range and if it was, she had Dumbledore to figure things out for her.

"Hi, Ginny."

"Eddie!" She looked up at the boy, who held his white furry cat.

"What a wonderful cat." Hermione complimented.

"Thanks."

"Eddie. This is Hermione, she's my friend and thats Ron. My brother."

"Oh, cool you have a brother?" He spoke happily, sitting on the floor beside Ginny.

"Yeah, she's got about six of'em." Ron answered.

"Wicked!"

"Not really." Ginny shook her head.

"I haven't any siblings. Its just me and my aunt. She's a witch too. She was going to take me to the station but she was late for work. So she told me to do what you told me. I was just still a bit confused." He clicked his tongue.

"Well, at least you found it." Ginny nodded.

"Yeah."

"Whats your cat's name?" Hermione asked.

"Merline."

Ginny chuckled.

"What?"

"She's my mum's. My dad wanted to name the cat Merlin but he turned to be a she so mum changed it to Merline."

"Clever." Hermione snickered.

"I know. I just wish they hadn't but you get what you get, I suppose." He sighed, "I would change her name but my mum got her a couple months before they passed. I couldnt bring myself to do it."

Ginny looked at me, paled. Such a lively kid, but such a... well an orphans life.

"Whats your aunt like?" I asked, suddenly reminded of my spatula holding, red in the face Aunt Petunia.
