Doors open and closed, both of them were now sitting out of the emergency room, Ella's head on his shoulder as she shut her eyes momentarily, not noticing when the sleep took over.

Allan's head was rested on the wall. Someone tapped on his shoulder causing him to focus, he shook his head to avoid dizziness, the nurse said something but it wasn't audible to him, before he could ask her to repeat Ella woke up,

"what? he did!!!" her voice filled with a bit of hope, she stood up immediately peeking through the small glass window.

Her gaze got stuck on the breathing mask, the doctors said he could wake up at any moment but what she didn't expect was how he would wake up, since the the beeps of monitor kept on getting inconstant, the nurses rushed inside, and Ella would've almost jump in, but the latter pulled her behind.

The beeps kept on getting more and more linear, as the nurses gathered around, tears once again started to fall down landing on Allan's wrist as he held her hand

"We are losing him, call for the Doctor." a nurse muttered bumping her by the shoulder, before she could fall Allan grabbed her again turning her face towards his chest urging her to move outside, and he almost stopped breathing when her hand wrapped around his neck, all the emotions started to rush in as if it was just a matter of yesterday as her grasp got tighter.
It was selfish to say this, but he wasn't concerned about anyone but himself.

He didn't know how soon will he last, or did he already gave in?

 ---

After half an hour, the doctor came out, Ella fumbled up and she almost threw herself inside when the doctor told her that his condition was satisfied, but he is under anesthetic right now.

As now the situation came in control her concerns went towards the second role, she observed how Allan had been throughout the whole day towards her, she hated to admit it but she needed it - alot.

Having him by her side was such a relief, if he won't be here she would have passed out in the rest room long ago. She turned to her right, looking at the back of his head as he was having a conversation on phone.

There gaze met when he turned around, and she was quick to look away, the brunette ended the call.

"thank-thankyou" Ella said, still not looking at him, and he knew where this was leading to.

"You didn't have to go through all this I-" she said in a low voice, but was still audible for him.

"But I did." he replied now with an expressionless face.

"Im sorry-?" her voice came out almost inaudible, sounding more disappointed and less convinced.

"Ted is like a brother to me too." he said, now facing her.

"I did it for Ted. As I said earlier, you won't have to see me again." he spoke in molds, not noticing the fidgets of her fingers,

"why?" was what came out of her mouth in a second, making the brunettes eyes raise, a fringe formed between his eyebrows.

"I never agreed to not seeing you again." Ella said in an almost disappearing tone, flicking past his gaze, unidentified by the fact that his face had stiffened.

"But you didn't deny it either." the brunette said, and when there was no reply he faced high, now moving inside the ward sitting on the empty chair beside the bed.

Ella peeked in , it was most probably the answer she would want to hear, but what was that little part that uttered down in dismay? eating her up? telling her that it was not okay.
