Thursday afternoon rolled around and Alex was sat perched in one of the big bay windows, looking into the courtyard when Cedric sat across from her, offering her a warm smile.

"Hey, Alex." Cedric grinned at her as she sent him a smile in return.

"Hi, Cedric."

"I was wondering if you would want to go to Hogsmeade with me tomorrow during the day as we have the school day off?" Cedric shyly asked her as she nodded.

"Sounds great Ced, I would love to." Alex nodded at him.

"Great! It's a date then. I'll grab you after lunch tomorrow and we can go down." Cedric told her before standing and giving her shoulder a quick squeeze, turning to continue down the hall.

Alex felt confused... did Cedric Diggory really just ask her on a date? She had to tell Hermione ASAP.

She quickly threw her book in her school bag before walking quickly up to the Gryffindor common room to see Ron, Harry, and Hermione all sat together on one of the couches.

"Hermione... you'll never guess what just happened." Alex quickly said, taking a seat in the chair opposite of them.

"What?" Hermione asked her, sitting up with eagerness.

"Cedric just asked me on a date to Hogsmeade tomorrow afternoon!" She cheesed, causing Hermione to share a quick look with the two boys sat on either side of her before congratulating Alex.

Alex was quick to go into detail with Hermione on how the conversation went before the boys stood up, excusing themselves from the conversation in search of Fred and George. They walked briskly down different corridors before running into the twins.

"What're you guys doing?" George asked, laughing at the younger boys panting from their running.

"Cedric broke the deal!" Harry blurted out.

"What?" Fred asked.

"What did he do?" George asked, honestly amused by the whole situation and glad he wasn't a part of it.

"He asked Alex out... he broke the deal." Ron repeated as Fred rolled his eyes, all four boys turning to look as they heard running footsteps approaching them.

"Wait!" Cedric called out, running up to the four, most of them looking pissed at the Hufflepuff boy, "Let me explain."

"What the hell happened?" Fred spat out, crossing his arms.

"Yeah! We all agreed on this deal man." Ron glared.

"I know we did, and look, I'm sorry but Alex said yes! She likes me!" Cedric argued.

"Yeah... and any of us could say the same." Fred scoffed.

"Well, then the deals off. I really like her." Cedric said, matching Fred as he also crossed his arms.

"We will tell her how we feel too then." Harry told him as Cedric rolled his eyes.

"She's with me now... kind of." Cedric quickly defended himself as George let out a small laugh before speaking up.

"She agreed to date you, not to be your girlfriend."

"We should just drop the deal... Alex wants me." Cedric scoffed as Fred shook his head.

"You've made it every man for themselves Diggory... game on." Fred spoke in his signature cocky tone as the smirk on his face grew.

"Then watch me win." Cedric shrugged, a smirk of his own on his face.

"Don't be so sure mate." Ron nodded.

"As I said, she's with me." Cedric told them before turning around and walking away.

"Well, may the best man win?" George said in an amused tone as Fred rolled his eyes.

"What a slimy git." Ron spat.

"Oh boy... I can't wait to tell Oliver." George laughed out, wincing slightly when Fred reached over to give him a light smack.

A few hours later, Alex sat up in her room studying as Hermione, Ron, and Harry all sat in the common room. The boys were filling Hermione in on the deal and the conversation they had with Cedric earlier as she had previously overheard bits and pieces.

"You guys are such idiots!" Hermione said, rolling her eyes at the boys before reaching over to smack both of them with her book.

"Hermione stop!" Harry whined out, sending her a glare, "We ended the deal."

"She is not an object that you guys get to decide what to do with! She can make her own decisions. Now I hope she has an amazing time with Cedric tomorrow." Hermione said, sending them each another glare before heading up to her room to continue her reading elsewhere.
