Alex sat on her bed, staring out her window, left alone with her thoughts. Alex felt good with Cole, and likes seeing him. It was nice to feel wanted and Alex liked that she didn't feel like she was the only one putting in all the work for the relationship to work., whether they had actually made their relationship official or not. It wasn't fair that Ron could move on so easily, before they had even broken up, and she couldn't. Alex deserved to be happy too and she knew that. It was a nice distraction after Ron had broken her heart.

No one will understand how much Alex cared for him, and what she would have done for him. Alex felt disposable in his life, and she knew that now, how is it fair he got to be happy with Julianna and she couldn't see or let alone be friends with another guy? She just had to stop caring, or at least pretend she did. She got really good at pretending that things did not bother her. If she doesn't let it hurt her on the outside, maybe, eventually she could move on on the inside.

Alex decided that she would let herself move on with Cole, she needed to. She deserved to be happy and it killed her to see Ron with Julianna.

Alex got off her bed and made her way to the common room, looking for Draco hoping he could help her with their potions homework. She sighed when she saw Ron sitting in front of the wizard chess set.

"Hi." He nodded at her.

"Uh, hey."

"I uh, should probably tell you something." Ron said, gesturing to her to sit on the chair across from him which she did.

"Whats up?" She asked, not making eye contact with him.

"Well I uh, Julianna and I are sort of seeing each other, like, together together."

"Oh?"

"Yeah."

"Well I'm also kind of seeing someone." Alex mumbled.

"Cole? Yeah, I know."

"What do you mean you know?"

"I saw you two kissing."

"Oh."

"Yeah.." Alex trailed off.

"So, are you two like together?" Ron awkwardly asked.

"I'm not sure, after he kissed me, he uh, asked me out, like on a date. I told him I had to think about it, that I wasn't sure what was going on between me and you. I thought that no matter what happened between you and I, we would always end up together, guess I was wrong." Alex sighed.

"Oh..." Ron trailed off. "Alex, I'm with Julianna now. Were done."

"Yeah, um, that's alright, i'm just going to go." Alex rambled before quickly standing and heading back up to her room, completely forgetting why she was looking for Draco.

"Wait! Alex come back!" Ron called after her, quickly standing as well.

"I gotta go, you don't get to see me cry anymore!" Alex yelled back.

Ron confirming to Alex that they weren't going to be together, ever again, really hurt her heart, even if she potentially had Cole.

Alex went through a rough week. She felt overwhelmed and sad and she wasn't expressing her sadness in ways that she should. Her feelings about losing her Father and Oliver, finally catching up to her as well as the sadness she felt about the situation with Ron. Alex felt lost, like she wasn't quite sure who she was anymore, and that scared her. She missed a week of class, got drunk every night and her and Blaise picked up an old habit, occasionally doing coke.
