The storm outside continued all through the night. This wasn't much of a problem for the gang (until Bipper sat on the roof trying to get electrocuted) and by 11:30 pm, despite the loud-ass thunder, everyone was sound asleep. Well not everyone.

Beast Wirt was in his room, an infinite space that resembled the woods of the Unknown, sitting under a tree and looking up at the stars. He sighed, content and happy. It wasn't every day that he was able to relax without something (or someone) interrupting him. So as the night went on, Wirt relaxed letting his mind wander to thoughts he usually didn't have time for. That is until there was a knock at the door.

You've got to be fucking kidding me! The annoyed lantern bearer reluctantly stood up and went to his door, where he was met with a sniffling ice prince. Before he could ask why Finn was still awake, the ice prince hugged his legs and cried into his cape. It's too late to be dealing with this shit. Wirt yanked his cape away from Finn and rolled his eyes. "What do you want?" The prince looked up at him, bottom lip quivering. "C-can I st-stay with you?" Now usually, the first thing Wirt would say is 'no' and close the door, but this felt different. So, Wirt sighed and motioned for Finn to follow him and the two walked deeper into the forest that was Wirt's room.

While they walked, Wirt had one question swimming around in his mind: Why did he say 'yes'? He never let anyone into his room, well except for Bipper but it wasn't his fault that the boy turned his brain to mush and made him a flushed stuttering mess. Annoyingly cute demons aside, it wasn't natural for anyone to be in Wirt's woods. He enjoyed the peace and quiet of his space, and having Finn there would definitely ruin the tranquility. But he still let him in.

The two finally made it to two large oak tree, a hammock swinging between each tree. Finn smiled and jumped in covering himself in blankets till he resembled a large marshmallow. Wirt watched with a small smile, it almost reminded him of. . . Greg. Wirt turned away from the sleepy prince and took out his lantern. Inside was a large, bright, flame that took the form of a small boy. Wirt looked from the flame to Finn and sighed.

Was that why? Did Finn really remind him of the brother he lost so long ago. The prince sure acted like a child despite being 15.  Wirt chuckled at the thought and sat under one of the oak trees, his colorful eyes gazing up at Finn.

Maybe this was fate giving him another chance. Another opportunity to be an older brother. If it is, then I'm not going to mess up this time. With that, Wirt went to sleep with a small smile on his face.

Yay, brother bonding time! I have a headcannon that Finn and Wirt do see and treat each other like brothers so expect more bro time between the two. Little explanation on how Wirt's room works: It is one giant forest that goes on forever (don't ask how it's possible, it's just magic). The ceiling is a sky and it's always autumn in his room, also there are a few small lakes and ponds because he refuses to share a shower with the animals he lives with. Hope you enjoyed and expect another update tomorrow!
