I woke up with a blanket wrapped around us, Tsukki sleeping peacefully under me. It was hot under the blankets, but I didn't mind, because he still had his arms wrapped around me, and it made me feel safe. My eyes slowly began to droop again, and I soon let myself fall back asleep.

Tsukki's moving body made me shift in my spot next to him. He had finally woken up, and it was around 10 am. Usually, we'd wake up earlier than this but I was drained from yesterday. Plus...I was partly dreading today. I'd only just remembered that Tsukki's mom was taking me to visit my mom. Of course, I wanted to go but just thinking of stepping foot into that building gets my mind racing.

"Good morning, Tsukki," I said with a smile, and he ruffled my hair up. With a small surge of energy, I managed to sit up enough to place myself on his lap. He kissed me on the cheek and I wrapped my arms around his neck, him wrapping his arms around my waist. Every morning I wanna do this. We sat there for a little while before he let go and looked me in the eyes. He didn't say anything, and I blushed. "W-what is it?" I asked with a nervous smile, scratching my head.

"Are you gonna be okay today?" he asked and I looked down.

"I'll be okay."

We both met Tsukki's mom outside after getting dressed. I had a lump in my throat that wouldn't go away. We both got into the back seat, and right before we left, Akiteru jumped in the passenger's side.

"Heyo, you don't mind if I go with you right?" he asked and I shook my head, smiling at him. I was glad he cared. The car ride wasn't that long, as Tsukki lived really close to the hospital. On the way there, I stared out the window, watching the bare trees pass by. The snow on the ground barely but slowly was melting, although I'm sure more snow was going to fall soon. Right before we got there, I saw a small birds nest in one of the trees. There were some baby birds in there, but its mother was gone. Hopefully, she'll be back soon little ones, food is hard to find in the winter.

We pulled up to the hospital and parked. There were more cars than usual, it happens a lot in winter, as people were getting in more accidents. Like my mom. Once we got to the front door I took a deep breath. Tsukki's mom went to check-in and find her room number, while we go shop for flowers. Akiteru and Tsukki went with me, and we looked through all the gifts. My mom's favorite flowers were roses, she said that they reminded her of the summer days she spent with my dad. My dad wasn't around anymore, and I'm glad. We didn't want anything to do with him. Except, he was still my mom's first love, and I'm sure things were different back when she was younger.

After buying the roses, Tsukki's mom found us and we left for the elevators. Room number 405. I was always disgusted by the smell of a hospital. They had that headache creating medicine and cleaning products smell, and it made me want to throw up. I know it's a hospital and all. Maybe it was just my nerves talking.

There was almost no one in the hallways except for the nurses. Her room was on the farthest side, and I felt my heart pound against my chest harder with every step we took. It was like the rooms we passed were going by in slow-motion, a few nurses seemed to be trapped at the same speed. I wanted it to go faster, for this day to be over. Everything around me stopped, my legs not letting me take a step ahead of the other one. My feet were planted and my hands looked like they would never stop shaking, I couldn't move. I couldn't bear to see her like that.

Tsukki snapped me out of my headspace with the simple gesture of putting a hand on my shoulder and looking at me, nodding and motioning his head towards the door. I took another deep breath, one that quivered uncontrollably but a breath nonetheless, and opened the door with my shakey hands. There was a nurse in the room and she smiled kindly at me. She looked really nice, almost comforting.
