"Last time i went to The Three Broomsticks with you i nearly threw up." Sophie whined as her and Cedric took a seat in the pub. "But." She sang. "I'll let it slide because it's your birthday." And then she began singing very loudly.

Cedric just laughed at her, yeah she was younger then him but she really did behave like a child. At least someone could be positive at a time like this. "Shh Soph." He said throwing his hands around. "People don't know it's my birthday."

"Why wouldn't you want your friends to know it's your birthday anyway?" She asked.

"I just don't like making a big deal out of small events." He shrugged.

"Small events!" She roared. "Cedric it is your eighteenth birthday!"

"Shh." He laughed covering her mouth with his palm.

A/N We're just going to ignore the fact that she's 14, and no i don't know when Cedric's birthday is because all google told me was that it is in September soo. Anyway they are only friends so the age gap isn't a problem. Back to the book!

Sophie had returned sooner then expected students were in the great hall having their lunch when she came back so the obvious thing to do when your hungry, is eat. So she made her way to the hall and joined her friends who were surprisingly all sat together for once, although Harry and Ron were on the opposites side.

"Hello." Sophie sang taking a seat between Hermione and Ginny.

Ron and Seamus sat across from them while George and Fred sat beside them and Harry and Neville the other side of Ginny.

"How was you date?" Ron asked with a smirk.

Sophie looked up from her plate and just stared as him for a second, narrowing her brows. "Ronald how many times do I have to tell you." She said slowly. "Me and Cedric are friends. Friends! He's eighteen anyway I'm only fourteen." She said Sticking her nose in the air.

"Oh yeah, I didn't think about that." Ron said defeated.

"Yeah that's because you don't think." Sophie retorted.

"Yup that's our little brother for you." The twins said in unison.

"To be fair you have been spending a lot of time with Cedric lately." Seamus added.

"Don't you start." Sophie said rolling her eyes. "Well I mean he's my friend, you and Ron have been spending time with each other lately does that mean you too are dating hmm." She smiled in his face.

"Ronnikins dating Seamus." George sang.

"Shut up George." Ron scoffed.

"No but seriously why have you been hanging out with him? Is it to do with the tournament?" Fred asked.

"I mean yeah he's been helping me but that's not why I'm hanging out with him, he's my friend." Sophie whispered. "Anyway." She sang turning to her brother and throwing a bread roll at him. "Talking to me yet?"

Harry threw the bread back before answering. "I'm not angry with you Soph just worried." He admitted. "Also, Remus is coming to watch the third task."

"Remus?"

"Oh yeah that's right, erm Remus is a friend of Padfoots he was our DADA teacher last year also." Harry stated.

~
The first task was coming up, Sophie had told Cedric, Krum and Fluer that it involved dragons to give them a bit of an idea. Hermione and Harry have been training Sophie with her magic, a little tip from Moody was something about a broom. So Harry decided to teach Sophie the 'Accio' spell and said that she could use his fire bolt in the task. Meanwhile on the weekends Fred has been teaching her how to actually fly one, which wasn't going all that well.

"No I can't." Sophie squinted her eyes as she hovered slightly above the floor.

Fred just shook his head before placing a hand on her shoulder. "Look Soph, I'm right here." He said slowly hovering next to her. "I won't let you fall."

"What about when I'm actually on my own, I'll fall and die." She whined.

"Sophie your not going to die." Fred laughed. "Just look at me, don't look down." He said as he flew forward and she followed.

Not taking her eyes off of Fred she followed him around the Quidditch pitch only about 10 feet of the ground but it was a start. He gradually flew higher and higher and without even realising him and Sophie were now above the goal posts.

"Fred!" Sophie shouted randomly. They had been flying around for at least 20 minutes with her just looking at him for reassurance and she let her eyes slip for a second and realised how high they were.

"You looked down didn't you?" Fred asked as he stopped in front of her.

Sophie didn't reply she just nodded slightly holding her broom tightly.

"Look." Fred started. "If you tense up your going to lose balance and fall."

"Oh that helps." Sophie said sarcastically cutting him off.

"Sophie this isn't working." He said lowering himself and the girl to the floor. "Listen get on the back of my broom."

"What?" She asked as she practically jumped to the floor. "You want me to go back up in the sky."

"Sophie." He said sternly. "Get on."

Without saying another word she made her way onto the back of his broom hesitantly. He hovered above the ground a little and felt her squeeze his waist to which he chuckled at.

"Stop laughing at me." She whined throwing her head into his back. "It's not funny."

"It's a little funny." He admitted.

"Fred!"

"Okay okay I'm sorry." He paused. "But look."

"I don't want to." She mumbled into his shirt.

"Sophie"

"Fred"

"Look" he laughed.

She lifted her head from off of his back and looked around slowly. She was flying over the black lake holding Fred's waist slightly but she wasn't scared anymore. The first time ever she had looked around whilst she was on her broom in their little flying sessions and she wasn't scared. Fred must have been rubbing off on her. They flew around for a while, and her smile continuously grew bigger and bigger but little did she know that Fred wasn't enjoying the view as much as he was enjoying watching her having fun and the feeling of her arms wrapped around him.

"That was awesome." Sophia yelled as they returned back to Hogwarts.

"See it's not always scary." Fred chuckled. "You do that on your own tomorrow."

"Er I can't." Sophie whispered.

"Sophie I can't be with you during the task, you have to do it alone." Fred shook his head as they entered the common room.

Sophie slumped back onto the couch beside George while Fred sat on the armchair beside the fire. "I can't do this." She moaned.

"Have fun?" George asked.

"Actually yeah we did, it was amazing actually." Sophie sighed.

"My brother really that good company." He laughed.

"As good as you get Georgie." Fred retorted.

Fred Weasley had a soft spot for Sophie Potter whether he cared to admit it or not. He loved spending time with her and although he didn't know why he wanted to spend just as much time with her as Cedric Diggory does. He'd never felt this way before but he could see a great friendship coming out of the two, well that's what he thought he could see.

A/N #5 in #weeasley all though I spelt it wrong that's still great I'm my eyes! Number 5 in 93 stories, and for my first one I'm quite happy.
