Feelings

It was the day before the Yule Ball, Saturday. Christmas eve and Sophie was still asleep, alone in her dorm when she was awoken by a scratch at the window. Popping her head out of the quilt slightly she felt the sudden rush of cold hit her. Probably would have been best to sleep in a long sleeve top in the middle of winter but here we are. Much to Sophie's surprise the maker of the noise was her owl, Layla. She was perched up on the window sill outside holding a small, creamed envelope.

"Hey there." Sophie cooed getting out of the bed and walking sleepily over to the window. She opened it steadily and as soon as she did she regretted it. Layla came flying in and landed on her bed cuddled in the pillows, Sophie however was freezing. She had forgotten how cold it was outside and much to her bad luck her owl just fluttered snow all over her. "Thanks." She squirmed as she rushed to put a jumper on.

She made her way over to her bed again sitting next to her owl and patting her head slightly before tacking a treat out of her bedside drawer and trading it for the letter.

'Sophie Lilly Potter'

It read in fine black ink. "Remus." She whispered before tearing the letter open, more hesitantly then excitedly. Did she rush him in the last letter? Was it too much? Did she really wanna know what his reply was?

'Hey Soph.

I'd be more then happy to have you over for Christmas, even Harry. I'm afraid now however isn't the greatest of times.

I've spoken to Molly however and she has said you and Harry are more then welcome to spend these two weeks at the Burrow. I will come round to see you every now and then so we can talk about everything.

Merry Christmas Sophie.

Remus Lupin'

Christmas at the Burrow? With the Weasleys? With Fred Weasley? Sophie thought to herself. She decided to shake the nerves and excitement she was prohibiting. "Hey Layla." She said turning to the owl. "Mind one more Christmas delivery?" Sophie didn't know why she was talking to her owl but she seem to understand as she sent the girl an irritated look with a slight hoot. "Thankyou."

And she wrote one last letter to Remus before seeing him in person. Her godfather. In person. Someone she didn't know she had.

'Remus Lupin

Can't wait.

Merry Christmas

Sophie'

Simple but sweet. Best way to keep it.

And on that note Sophie decided to ask Harry what he wanted to do. Stay here or go to the burrow, and also probably get something to eat in the mean time. She threw on a pair of sweatpants, leaving her tank top and jumper on she headed down the spiral staircase and into the common room, joining Ron, Harry and Hermione.

"Morning lazy." Harry laughed as she sat beside him on the sofa.

"It's not that late is it? Have i missed breakfast." She laughed.

"Lunch is starting in five, I'll come with you im starving." Ron added winning a game of chess with Hermione.

"As always Ronald." Sophie giggled. "Anyway Harry. Wanna spend Christmas at the burrow?" She asked with a smile.

"I thought you had asked Remus?" He said questionably.

"And were you going to ask me?" Ron smirked.

Sophie looked from her brother to Ron. "Molly offered." She smiled turning back to Harry. "He wrote back and told me Molly had said we can stay with her and that he will pop round to talk."
