A/N: My updates are shocking, I'll probably reduce them. Instead of posting one everyday alongside doing my school work and attending to my horse (which is so tiresome keeping up with it all) I will make sure I post at least three a week hopefully :)
"A ring?"
"Yeah a ring."
"Why would he put his soul into a ring?"
"Why are you asking me?"
"Hey don't blame me Dumbledore is the one who's got you running around for him."
"It's to win the war."
"Yeah, and you sixteen years old."
"It's gonna benefit my life anyway and i want to help."
"Yeah well that's if we make it out alive."
"We will make it out alive Soph."
The least thing you could say was Sophie was worrying. Her mind was on overdrive, week after week Harry had been sneaking around with Dumbledore trying to figure out these magical objects, the headmaster had retrieved a ring from somewhere confidential and was now looking how to destroy it. Harry had told her he had an idea where another horcrux was hidden but he wouldn't spill anything else at all. Other worries that were sneaking up on Sophie was Mason, she felt like she could trust him but there was just something off with him, his mother was a death eater, he was closer to Draco as the days passed and he didn't even know what side he was on yet, maybe he even knew who this random werewolf was and just wasn't speaking up about it. Remus however, it was safe to say he was avoiding the girl, every full moon sirius would come and go looking like he had been to hell and back and whenever she mentioned her godfather he would change the subject. Everytime she wrote, she wouldn't get a response but she couldn't tell whether she was angry at him, or worried about him, or maybe even both.
Neville and Luna were the only students really who were going out of their way to speak to Sophie at the moment, even Ron and Hermione didn't greet her when passing the corridors or in classes or even the common room. Something was off and no one was telling her what exactly it was, at first she thought it may be due to the werewolves, which were still being passed around in the news like it was trending throughout the wizarding world, or whether it was to protect her from the war, she simply didn't know.
She was worried about her brother too, he was head over heels determined to protect his friends and family through the war, she could tell looking him in the eyes as he spoke so pationetally about fighting that he blamed himself. He wouldn't be able to live with the idea of one of his friends dying because of him, which wasn't entirely true. It wasn't his fault, this was more than just the boy who had caused the dark lords disappearance 16 years ago, this was a fight; a battle, this was a war. Of course Sophie didn't feel as responsible, i mean she was given away for Merlin's sake, she never thought her parents wanted her how could this be her fault, plus her prophecy has broken the minute she was infected with lycanthropy, she wasn't in as much danger anymore, she thought.
Little did she know her future was being written out for her as she spoke, every day closer to the end of the year was every day closer to her entering the battleground, the only undecided term was what side would she be fighting for, what were they going to make her do.
"We all just have to look out for one another." She said to her brother as they walked through the sunny grounds of Hogwarts. It was a Hogsmeade weekend and Fred had written to her telling her to meet him in the Hogshead, a pub they had all took shelter in to discuss Dumbledore's Army about a year ago.
"As we will, don't doubt for one second that I'm not doing everything I can to protect you lot." He smiled walking further and further into the town.
