"Remus wants you to go with Sirius." Fred said knocking on the bedroom door.
Sophie had been sulking for about an hour after her little argument with Harry in Ginny's room, everyone had eaten but she refused to go down. The full moon was tomorrow night and she was feeling queasy enough as it is.
"There leaving in a minute, wanted me to come and get you." He said opening the door and walking over to the girl. She was sat at the top of her bed window open and staring out into the field surrounding the Burrow. "Want to tell me what's going through that pretty little head of yours?" He whispered.
"Harry is being being incredibly insufferable." She said keeping her eyes on the slightly ajar window.
"He's just looking out for you, we're going through some tough times." He soothed stroking the back of her head.
"I better go." She said standing up now keeping her eyes on the window. What was so intriguing about the sky, the dark colours were swirling around together, the thick foggy clouds moving swiftly through the depths clashing with the corner of the crescent moon, but there was something else. A weird smell, like burning iron and damp wood, like a magic scent, dark magic.
Without even explaining herself she burst out the room, Fred quickly on her trail as she ran down the many stairs through the busy kitchen and towards the front door.
"Sophie?" Sirius asked as she raced past him.
"Can you smell that?" She said practically jumping out the door and to the side of Remus who too was looking out into the horizon. "What is that?"
"Magic."
And then there it was, two large clouds, dark clouds spinning around viciously in the air, one shot straight down like a meteorite in the middle of the long grass whilst another landed in front of the house. The Burrow was circled in fire now, a large path of it blocking them in. Then Sophie got a strange familiar scent, she couldn't tell exactly who it was but it was someone she hated, someone she needed gone but she didn't know why. She wanted to hurt it so bad and she felt giddy with rage, it was burning through her trickling into her blood she needed to run.
To run. And that's what she did, as soon as Harry came storming out the house. The shape closer to the house took off, Bellatrix Lestrange. Sophie didn't care about that person, Bella wasn't useful to her, she ran right past her, quicker then her, ignoring the spell she shot at her she carried on through the tall grass. Ignoring the painful screams coming from the house, the one's pleading for them to come back. Harry had gone, he was chasing the woman.
She ran for minutes before coming to a stop, she was stood in the middle of an opening, a small puddle in front of her. Her blood was pumping and the scent was stronger now, the person was closer.
Come to say hello?
A voice rang in her head, she spun around rapidly in circles trying to find the owner of it a rustle came from her left and she froze. Looking directly at the shaking weeds, they were coming closer.
Changed your mind?
The deep voice said again, but it wasn't aloud, it was in her head. She knew this now as it continued, Fenrir Greyback came emerging from the greens, his face turned up into a yellow toothy grin. His mouth wasn't moving though, his claw like hands rested at the side of his huge bulky body ready to attack anyone who came close. Sophie couldn't move, she was stuck in place she didn't want to.
There was something telling her to stay put, telling her to go with him deep inside her head. He held out his hand slowly the smile not fading from his lips.
Are you ready?
He asked again his hand coming closer to the girl. She was fixated on his face, his sent, the strange feeling of power, he didn't scare her though like he did at the Ministry. The atmosphere almost felt friendly, comforting, familiar. Almost. But whatever it was had power over her, everything was telling her to do it. Take his hand, you know it's right. Then there was a rustle in the field again.
But she bid it no mind. Her hand shook for a second, the adrenaline pumping through her bones, the thought of the full moon was long gone. The icky feeling in her stomach had vanished, the aching of her body disappeared, the pounding headache gone. The magic of the wolf remained but it was comfortable, it was right. She lifted her hand reaching for his and he nodded to her reaching out for her small, fragile limb.
"Stupefy!"
He was gone in a flash. Everyone was gone, and Sophie's mind went blank. Someone had ahold of her shoulders but she was frozen still, her hand still held out for the man. The headache, the grim stomach feeling, the ache of her bones they all came back, the full moon came back.
I'll see you soon
"Sophie!?" Remus yelled shaking the numb body. "Sophie!"
"What happened Remus?!" Tonks yelled running through the green right up beside the pair.
Sophie could see and hear everything going on but her eyes wouldn't move from where that man was standing, her mouth wouldn't open she couldn't talk. Her eyes were stinging now the smoke from the air filling her sockets, the tears leaked down dropping to the floor but she still couldn't close them. She was stuck in place, her heartbeat was slow, she could feel that too. Her throat was dry and her vision was going blurry. The magical, entrancing scent had gone now, the feeling of warmth and comfort, the feeling of family it was gone.
"It was Greyback." Remus said after a minute of silence. "He made her feel at home, he has a pack again. Just like he did years ago."
"How could one werewolf make her feel like that?" Tonks asked as Remus picked the girl up and headed back to the house. "Unless-
"He wasn't the only one here, there was another there was a new scent." He said ducking under the houses door frame. They had saved the most of it from the fire there was no where else to go. "That boy he was here."
"Moony!" Sirius yelled running over to the group. "What he heck did that bastard do."
"He was about to apparate with her." Remus sighed. "Take her to wherever the others were, she's young Padfoot. He has too much control over her, it's dangerous."
"So your telling me what exactly?" He asked kneeling down beside them, "what exactly happened to her?"
"I presume he got in her head, probably said a couple of things you know, asked her to join him i expect but we can never be sure." He said closing her eyes, "for now she has to rest. She should be alright tomorrow she can explain what happened."
