Sophie had spoke to Harry again after a few week, she was sixteen years old she shouldn't be falling out with her brother because they were both jealous at who they called their family. They were twins for god sake.
However no matter how many times he had asked she refused to talk to Draco about being one of them, he was ashamed of it she knew that. Deep down she knew it was risky telling him but she hoped their trust would keep it a secret, she knew she shouldn't be lying to her brother but it wasn't her secret to tell.
"I can't believe you spoke to her like that." Mason gushed one weekend. Him and Sophie were walking through the snowy grounds of Hogsmeade, it was quite dull compared to usual considering the recent events and the whole war but with good company, it was great.
Mason was telling Sophie about how much he hated Umbridge, their last defence against the dark arts teacher and whilst it was strange having Snape teach the subject it was definitely better than all the others. Baring Lupin, who he had said was definitely his favourite by miles off.
"I'm gutted i didn't get to be taught by him." Sophie frowned, she really was upset her god father couldn't teach her, he did seem like he was fun according to every other students inputs.
"What's the scars about anyway?" He asked entering The Three Broomsticks, "no offence of course if you don't wanna talk them you don't have too."
"No, course no offence taken." She smiled taking a booth seat in the corner of the pub. "But i don't really wanna talk about it, they remind me of bad times."
"Well, if it matters i think they make you look brave." He puffed his chest out making a silly face, crossing his eyes over.
"Tosser." She laughed after ordering her drinks from a nice young woman. "What about you? Where'd you get yours?" Sophie smiled holding her hands on the steaming cup and nodding up to the boys face. He too had a scar, only one quite large actually but his long hair covered most of it.
"Oh, er well." The boy hesitated "when i was little, fell down the stairs cracked my head open." He shrugged not meeting the girls eyes.
"Bit big for a fall" she mumbled.
"That's what i thought." Mason laughed cutting the strange tension. "Anyway."
The pair stayed in the pub for a while joking and laughing back and forth, it was crazy how Sophie had never paid attention to Mason before he seemed like a really sweet boy. However the time had gone by quite a bit and the two decided to leave the pub in time for dinner back at the school. They were walking through the cold snow right behind Harry and his friends when Sophie was cut off by a loud scream from somewhere ahead.
Her and Mason instantly dropped their conversation, their laughter died out as they caught sight of a girl lay down in the snow beside a traumatised girl. Sophie raced towards her brother who was stood beside the motionless body now, Hermione close beside them. But out of the blue the girl began to jolt, side to side her body glided in the snow before stopping and levitating high into the sky. The face of Katie Bell silently screaming for help brought tears to Sophie's eyes.
The girl fell back to the floor as quick as she hovered when a loud voice yelled from behind them, it was Hagrid. He pushed through the crowd and over to the girl, picking her up in his large arms. "Don't you touch that." He warned. "Come on back to the castle."
Harry scampered over to the necklace that was lay on the floor something Sophie she assumed had caused the girl to react that way. He was careful enough not to actually touch the chain, just the wrapping surrounding it.
Sophie followed the golden trio back not daring to speak of what happened, she and Mason headed to lunch whilst the other three were taken elsewhere, something to do with that stupid necklace, Sophie thought.
