Who's new?

The Hogwarts Express was quite quiet this year, many whispers were being passed around about the whole You Know Who being back, and Cedric Diggory's death. It had been a whole summer and everyone was still sticking their noses in other people's business constantly muttering to themselves every time they caught a glimpse of Sophie. Everybody thought she was mad, pretty much. This time last year she had claimed Lord Voldemort had risen again and of course, she had no proof. Due to that there was only a handful of people who believed her but she didn't need there doubt as well as her own, so she simply blocked them out. Of course Harry had believed her, he knew it was true. But he was being treated the same, 'the Potter twins have gone mad ' were the whispers being past around the train, no one believed their claim, they were too scared.

Harry had escaped expulsion thanks to Dumbledore and he was cleared of all charges, but he was quite annoyed (just like Sophie said he would be) considering everyone had avoided contact with him all summer. It didn't help that Albus was completely ignoring him now as well, that Sophie didn't know why but he had started being quite distant from her too. They had a total of two more order meetings in the space of Harry arriving at Grimmauld place and school term starting again, and he avoided both Potters each time.

Like usual Sophie felt kind of intrusive when she was around both Harry and Hermione and Ron so she parted ways with them on the way to find a carriage but when she found herself outside the empty compartment her and Cedric would sit at every train ride she found the memories flooding back and she couldn't handle it. 

"So the Weasleys." Cedric nodded, an impertinent look playing on his face. "You spent two weeks with the Weasley's after snogging one of them at the Yule Ball." He smiled. "Anything i need to know about?"

"Your disgusting" was Sophie's reply.

She never got to tell Cedric about her and Fred making it official, although she had plenty of time she never got round to doing it. Would he be happy for her, or would he be more protective of it?

"Awe is Sophie blushing?" He cooed.

"Shut up." She laughed. "How about Ricky, been up to anything" she paused for a minute. "Spontaneous, these holidays?"

"You really are disgusting." He joked.

She didn't know she was crying, she was only brought back from her thoughts when two warm hands were placed on ether of her shoulders. She spun around quickly and wrapped her arms around the boys waist covering her head in his chest completely oblivious to all the awkward glances being sent her way.

"Shh, it's okay." Fred whispered softly stroking the back of her head as she cried silently onto his shirt, but he didn't seem to mind he just wanted to comfort her. "Come on, you can sit with us." He nodded before taking the girls hand and leading her to his carriage which was also occupied by his twin brother and their friend Lee Jordan.

"Soph what's wrong." George asked standing up as soon as they slid the door open.

"Nothing." She mumbled wiping the tears away from her face. "I'm okay."

George didn't answer her, he just gave her a sad smile before sitting back in his seat. He was sat beside Lee so Fred and Sophie sat across from them, Fred pulled the girl beside him keeping a comforting arm around her. She leaned against him slightly for the entire train ride, while she was sat in the carriage with the three boys her mind was else where. She didn't want to be the girl everyone walked on egg shells around but it was proving to be quite difficult when every where she went reminded him of her lost friend, and she wasn't even at Hogwarts yet. Oh how hard this year is going to be.

"It is with my pleasure to introduce Professor Dolores Umbridge." Dumbledore ululated through the Great Hall towards the end of his 'Welcome back' speech. "Our new defence against the dark arts teacher."
