her heart has dropped, bubbling in her stomach as her breath ran shakily as her hand clasped around her throat again, this time in shock. she saw his lifeless body still on the cold floor- she knew what it came too. it was either her life taken or his but she didn't want it to end that way.
Draco was whispering in her ear, telling her they needed to get away. He grabbed her hand and ran, running past the body that was so suddenly met with cold stone that had fell. He was telling her something, something important but she couldn't hear him, she refused too.
Tears left her eyes, racing down her cheeks as she stumbled down a broken staircase. The tall boy, face thin and grey stopped in a corner, holding his hands on either of her upper arms. "I have to go do something, get to the great hall stay safe."
He turned then and ran, back up the stairs, she listened closely to his footsteps as he disappeared. focusing only on that as the chaos occurred around her. Her friend has died, her friend who was trying to kill her, he had died. Nonetheless.
She tried to steady her breathing, pinching her skin as she did so, spells were being launched back and forth, explosions every way, running, screaming, crying. Neville, a boy who had changed much over time ran past her, halting to a stop as he noticed the pancaking girl in the corner.
"Sophie?" He questioned, he shook her body as she stared longingly at the wall. "Sophie where's Harry?"
"I don't know," she breathed, snapping back into the reality around her at the mention of her brother. She began to cry more. "I need to find him where is he?"
"The last time I saw him was with Luna, running off somewhere." He shrugged, a glint of jealously took over his expression.
She placed a hand on his shoulder, "he's looking for something to do with ravenclaw Neville do you know what?"
"No," the boy answered simply. "No no I don't, maybe Remus does, I saw him up stairs."
She nodded quickly before turning back on her feet, jumping two steps at a time, dodging spells that were thrown her way. She tripped on something soft, Masons body, closing her eyes, imagining the sight of Cedric's body that lay the same so many years ago she shook her head. She shouldn't feel guilty, he was bad. Standing back up she continued her run, passing a very familiar ginger on the way.
"Percy!" She yelled, in hopes he would know where anyone was. Strange, she hadn't seen the weasley in a while but now was not the time to question.
"Did I mention I was resigning?" He laughed as a tall man in a dirty suit pointed his wand at the boy- the minister. Was that Percy Weasley joking to his...well now ex boss?
"You actually are joking, Perce," said a, this time incredibly familiar, voice as another figure appeared from around the corner. His ginger hair ruffled on his head, blood dripping from his chin and random patches in his clothes.
It all happened very quickly. Sophie stumbled slightly, it felt as though the castle shuck. She screamed loudly, his name echoing the walls, her voice cracking in fear.
Launching herself forward as a dizzy feeling took over her track she jumped throwing her arms towards the boy. She prayed— she hoped. This couldn't happen, not now, not ever.
Her back collided with something hard. A cold heavy feeling planting her right onto the floor, she sucked in quickly as something sharp hit her leg. Her eyes closed, she fought hard to open then again but failed. The pain surged, it's okay, she repeated. I'll give myself a minute then...I'll be okay.
Her ears rang, like a siren travelling through the wind, her name was being yelled by what felt like thousands of people. She wanted to answer, she really did but she was sinking and she couldn't reach the surface again.
~~~
Her vision was blurry, as well as the noise, the taste the smell around her. It felt as though she could feel it all, barely, it was inches away from her reach.
She saw light, bright shining light that felt as though matches were being held to her eyes. Stinging, freezing— breath taking.
Standing quickly she sucked in. "Fred!" Was the first word to leave her mouth, the first thing she had thought about. The last thing she had seen before— the last thing she had seen.
Her voice echoed off of the walls, the non existent walls. It felt like she was trapped, running around her, in circles, taunting her yelling at her, laughing.
She felt tears strum down her eyes, stinging her flesh, it was painful. She held her breath.
"Sophie?" A voice whispered in thin air.
It travelled lightly, friendly but cold. It made her skin shiver, her heartbeat— well it was still. Goosebumps covered her arms as she looked around the bright room. A figure in the distance stood tall, a smaller in front.
Her eyes started to water more, could it be? She stepped forward— only slightly but somehow it covered much ground. She held her arms close to herself, tight.
"Oh Soph."
She was really crying now. Looking the figures up and down she felt her heart practically break in two. Sinking slowly to the floor she watched as clear tears littered beneath her.
"Don't cry," the next voice said. This one was deeper, husky.
It made her sob, how could it be. They were both here, together, with her. Was she dead.
No of course she was dead. Nothing else would explain it.
"Sophie, my sweet child," Lily Potter whispered sinking down to her height. Sophie looked up. She had the same facial structure as her mother, same eyes, different hair.
Her hair was identical to her dad who sank next. Messy and scrawny. She almost laughed at the resemblance.
"Mum," she whispered, it made her throat hurt. "Dad."
The two parents engulfed their child lightly, crying together as the three of them embraced one another for what felt the first time— well for what was for the girl.
"Oh my girl," her father whispered. They rose to their feet, holding the girl up with them. "We are so incredibly proud of you."
"Your fathers right," her mother said. "You've grown to be a strong courageous woman soph."
"Wh-what's happening to me?" She said low, looking deep in her parents eyes as she cried. "Am I dying."
Her parents were silent, they moved their heads slightly before taking a step back.
"We love you Sophie." They both looked down at their feet, a pulling feeling occurred in her stomach. Her parents felt it too. The room rumbled, the horizon turning into something new, something darker, a forest.
There was a small figure in the back ground, walking closer- something in his palm. It was a golden snitch. Sophie's heart dropped. The figure looked familiar.
Her eyes searched her parents, their heads turned like a lost pup, their eyes sad. The figure lifted his hand, connecting the small ball to his lips before it opened. Sophie's feet froze, it felt as though she was sinking— sinking quick.
The cold hit her next, flourishing her from inside out. She wobbled, her mother by her side helped her gain balance.
"Harry?"
