I hope you enjoy <3
"Hurry up!" Ginny shouted up the small wooden staircase. "George was expecting me over an hour ago, your worse then Ron!"
"He'll be down in a minute," Sophie said taking a large bite from a piece of toast. This was the first meal she had had in days where she didn't want to throw it all back up, she had to enjoy it. "We're not in a rush are we?"
"Well," Ginny stropped, throwing herself into a seat across from the Potter. "No we're not however I would like to get to the shop before I'm thirty and George has been blown to pieces by wondering Death Eaters."
"Those daft Death Eaters won't be blowing another one of my brothers ears off if they tried," said a voice from the corner of the room. Following said voice a tall ginger bounced in, grabbing the final piece of toast from Sophie's plate he smiled at his sister; who still looked very angry.
"About time" she said with a frown, "can't even imagine what took you so long we're only going to check in on the place." Slumping over in her seat she too took a slice of toast for herself, handing another to her brother also.
Once finishing they left the house silently Ginny still anxious about letting the girl come with, imagining how much leverage the death eaters would have over Harry if she was found, everything could go wrong here and it would be her fault. Looking from the corner of her eye she noticed the sadness in her brothers face, knowing the two had been more distant the past few weeks hurt her, from seeing Fred's happy, bubbly face every morning when he was around the girl to watching as he became more quiet, less active and smiley stung, as a sister she wanted nothing more then for her brother to be happy again.
It had almost seemed like Sophie had given up, she hadn't even tried eating for the past few days, she was a lot more insolent than usual and only stepping forward when a dangerous task was offered, though they all refused her help. Ginny knew she had fallen behind, that her motivation to try and get better had failed them all, she had no hope left and from seeing that every day to watching as the girl bounced back onto her feet this quickly was the most heart warming thing that had happened to them all in a while. She only wished it would last, or at least stick around long enough for them to win this war, just a little longer they needed all the enthusiasm they could get.
"You recon were far enough?" Fred broke the silence. They all looked back at the small building in the distance that they had come from, definitely out of reach of the protection charms. Turning to face the younger girl he smiled at her excited expression, she looked so pleased to be outside again, to be able to go somewhere other then the house they had all been trapped in for what felt like years.
Ginny on the other hand had a strange feeling in her stomach, like something bad was about to happen and they were all puppets in a masters story. She couldn't help but feel like they were walking into some sort of trap, though she couldn't back out now. Dismissing it with the anxious feeling of Sophie being with them she nodded and closed her eyes to apparate. "See you there," and then she disappeared.
Closing her eyes to do the same Sophie inhaled deeply and pictured the shop vividly, ready to go through with it she was dragged out of her vision as two warm hands shook her shoulders slightly. Opening her eyes she was forced to meet a pair of dull brown eyes that were once full of life, full of joy and happiness.
"Hey," he whispered. Letting go of the small girl he scratched the back of his neck, feeling the awkward silence become overwhelming.
"Hi?" she responded in question, bouncing from foot to foot she tilted her head slightly before knitting her brows. What had he stopped her for? "What's up?"
"Remember when we found out about the incident at Malfoy Manor?" the boy asked, he sat down in the long grass, facing his second home along the horizon and smiling softly to himself.
Scoffing she found a seat next to him, "I would hardly call it an incident." She too closed her eyes for a minute, opening them a short while after and watching the boy in the corner of her eye. "They killed dobby, not on accident but on purpose you know that."
"I know," he breathed shakily, not wanting to relive the news he swallowed down on a lump that had risen in his throat. "That's not what I wanted to talk about anyway," a silence followed his statement, he didn't want to end nor continue the conversation but he had already started it now. "You said you were going to die."
Sophie sighed, not wanting to talk about what she had said or why she had said it, it was simple a memory and one she wanted to forget at that. Holding back the tears that had housed themselves in her eyes she stood on her feet, dusting off the loose grass that had clung to her. "Never say never Fred."
"Your not going to die," he said, more to himself then her. "You cant die," rising to his feet he turned to face the smaller girl, a sad look in the pairs eyes. "I'm not ready for you to leave me Sophie."
Smiling she shook her head, reaching out to hold his hand with both of hers she stood on her tip toes and brought a sweet kiss to his cheek. "Never say never Fred," was her whisper in his ear, making him feel numb, he squinted his eyes at the news he didn't want to hear, "but I'm not planning on leaving you any time soon."
He pulled his hand away from hers and lifted her face to look up at him, with an awestruck look he reached down, meeting his forehead with hers he sighed. "I'm not planning on loosing you," he said quietly before meeting his own lips with hers.
