The Whomping Willow

The next couple of weeks went by quite swiftly, the full moon constantly on the girls mind the closer it got. The next one was at the end of the week and lucky for Sophie it was a Saturday so she would have the next entire day to aid herself.

Neville Luna and her had grew a lot closer as well over the weeks, Neville was in most of Sophie's new classes whilst Luna was in the one every week, Care of Magical Creatures. They never mentioned Sophie's condition and whenever someone pointed out the girls scars they told them to shove off.

Draco hadn't spoken to Sophie, they'd lock eyes for a second before shaking out of it and looking away continuing what they were doing. The new potions master, Professor Slughorn had invited Sophie to join his Slug-Club, something she wasn't too keen about but Harry made her accept.

"So, what is the purpose of Amortentia?" Slughorn voiced above his class, as Hermione's hand raced up.

"Amortentia, is the worlds powerfullest love potion there is Sir." Hermione nodded, "so powerful it is considered dangerous. The drinker of the potion will instantly fall in love, incredibly in love it is referred to as obsessive."

"Excellent Miss Granger, excellent 10 points to Gryffindor!"The teacher cheered before circling back around his desk. "Now there is another use of Amortentia, could anybody tell me what that is?"

Sophie thought for a second before raising her hand watching as the teacher nodded to her. "Amortentia gives off the smell differently for different people. Whatever the smeller is attracted to most is the scent they will receive, the scent could be a food, object, animal or person."

"Incredible, yes Miss Potter another 10 points." The teacher beamed, "would you like to take a smell?" He asked removing the lid of the potion. Sophie nodded before taking a couple steps forward, not missing the other girls inching closer to the brew as well. The girl held her hair beside her head before taking a deep sniff.

"I smell." She paused smelling again, a large smile creeping it's way on her face. "I smell, fireworks, a card deck, broom polish and." She furrowed her brows, "chocolate and wet dog." She finished giggling slightly.

"What a combination!" Slughorn cheered continuing with his class as Sophie stood beside Ron and Hermione. The teacher dismissed the students to pair up and brew a drought of living death, just like he did on his first week only this time without books.

Hermione and Sophie paired up whilst Ron and Harry worked together, Sophie collected the ingredients they would be needing whilst Hermione set the cauldron alight. Harry was rushing around helping Ron, the clogs ticking in his brain as he tried to remember things from his book he had picked up from the shelf weeks ago.

The class ended 45 minutes later, Harry and Ron finishing first quickly followed by the girls. Potions was last lesson so as soon as the teacher dismissed them all the golden trio ventured back to the common room whilst Sophie headed to the library. She curled up with a book her godfather had sent her on a bean bag in the corner of the Library passing madam Pince on her way and flashing her a smile.

With the full moon coming up the girl felt utterly vile. Her stomach was aching giving the girl the familiar feeling of nausea every five seconds whilst her head pounded against her skull, her senses were heightened so that drove her insane too. The next time she looked up was when a figure cleared it's throat above her. She finished the paragraph she was reading before placing the bookmark and closing the book looking up with a smile to reveal none other than Draco Malfoy.

"Hello stranger." Sophie hummed lightly as the boy collapsed on the same bean bag lifting the girls side up a little. "What's up with you?"

"Home stuff" he groaned into the bag before lifting up and facing the girl, he narrowed his eyes at her for a second before moving his hand to the girls face and drawing his finger along the girls scar. "Father told me what happened to you, I don't want to assume to worst but are you-"
