Ray pushed the door with her backside, opening it and moving backwards into the kitchen as quiet as she could with the bags in her arms from the random shopping spree her cousin had taken her on when she called him asking if he was free to talk. Upon seeing how stressed his cousin was Lunay decided some retail therapy was exactly what the doctor prescribed and it got Ray's mind off of things for a while until it dawned on her that she had to go back home

Setting the bags down on the kitchen counter, Ray locked the door and froze when the lights came on. She turned half expecting Erick to be standing there only to see her mother in law. Erick's mother strode over to the kitchen table, pulling a chair out and sitting down she wordlessly told her daughter in law to take a seat.

"When we Erick got to the age of having to start school things got tough at home. Papi lost his job and i wasn't working so there was no income. It was getting harder and harder to make ends meet and put food on the table so papi took up something to make quick cash, something not so legal. I was against it but when the money came in i wasn't so reluctant to take it, Erick was around 9 years when papi missed a payment to the big boss, and we word goes around when you miss a payment you technically stole. I had no idea of this because my husband preferred to keep that business separate pero not for long because one night while Erick was having trouble sleeping they broke in, instead of punishing my husband they took me instead and Erick saw them, watched helplessly as they fought me to the ground, beat me and dragged me out of the house" Erick's mother told "Since then Erick had been having these nightmares, that scene playing in his head. Doctors said it was PTSD, that it would blow over. My heart would shatter hearing him scream my name over and over again in his sleep, he started writing and singing to let his pain out and it eased the dreams but then he told me they stopped when he met you"

"I don't want you to think that he's hiding this from you because he wants to, he just doesn't know how to tell you. I never thought i would live to tell the tale and i never thought he'd get over it but he did and it ese all because of you" Erick's mother said taking Ray's hand into hers
"I'm so sorry that happened to you" Ray said wiping the tears off her face
"No llorar mi amor, soy bueno y feliz ahora" Erick's mother comforted "He told me they started up again, i don't want you to abandon him in this time when he needs you the most"
"We've been through too much together for me to leave him mama" Ray said
"Si si, now i want you to go upstairs and love him because he needs nothing more than your love cariño" Erick's mother said squeezing Ray's hand

Ray gave her a small yes before Erick's mother got up, embraced her daughter in law and promising to visit under better circumstances. There was the sound of a car pulling up which Erick's mother said it would be her son in law. She gave Ray a kiss on the cheek and was off. Ray wiped her cheeks, making her way upstairs she opened the door to find Erick mindlessly watching the cartoon he had on for Sienna who was passed out cold. She softly closed the door and leaned against it

"She told you didn't she?" Erick asked malign Ray nod
"I don't understand why you didn't tell me Erick" Ray whispered
"Because in the beginning it was those 3 masked men dragging my mother into this void of pitch black nothingness as she screamed for my help but i was tarred to the floor but now it's— it's you" Erick said the lump in his throat beginning to form "It's you now amor, their dragging you into this void and i can't do anything to save you, i'm just watching you desperately calling for me to save you and i'm just- watching!"

Ray quickly made her way to Erick's side of the bed, pulling him into her embrace as he softly sobbed into her shoulder
"Hey hey, no one is taking me anywhere or hurting me or anything like that. I'm here forever now Erick. You can't get rid of me bitch" Ray smiled "I'm so sorry about what happened, i wish i could take it all away but i can't, all i can do is be there for you through everything"
"That's all i need" Erick whispered
"Mama" Sienna said in a small voice rubbing her eyes
"Buenos noches mamás, lo siento did we wake you baby?" Ray asked in a soft voice making Sienna nod "Lo siento mamás, dormir"
"I love you" Erick smiled sweetly
"I love you too baby" Ray said placing a kiss on his forehead before getting ready for bed and joining her small family in sleeping
