Aaliyah strapped the twins into their car seats along with Sienna before packing in the gifts that they had bought for Kendall in the back. Today was the faithful day of Kendall's graduation from her training school and she was finally a fire fighter. Joel stood in front of the mirror, fixing his tie for what felt like the millionth time before Aleesha stood in front of him, fixing it

"You do know you don't have to come with us" Aleesha said
"How petty would it be if I ditched" Joel said "she invited me way before we broke up"
"I mean she probably wouldn't notice?" Aleesha probed
"Aleesha that's not nice" Ray said standing behind him
"Got you this"
"A bunch of flowers? really Ray that's corny" Aleesha said
"oh yeah and what would you give him to give her?" Ray asked "a packet of condoms?"
"Better than flowers" Aleesha laughed
"Can you two behave" Erick said joining them
"we're going to be late so vamos" Richard said

They all made their way to the car, Ray scolding Erick for sitting on the train of her dress as she shifted to get comfortable. Richard was driving and Christopher was on aux duty with strict instructions to keep the music PG due to the children that were present.

Joel kept his eyes trained outside, breathing in and out and reciting what he would say to Kendall when he saw her. He tried his best to level his head and calm his heart down but at the rate it was beating he wasn't having any luck. He wiped his hands on his dress pants, closing his eyes and envisioning Kendall in front of him, or rather her recent picture he had seen of her on Instagram. When Richard pulled into the drive way the group poured out of the car, the girls fixing their dresses and making their way in

They weren't late, just in time for the giving out of the scrolls.Kendall immediately noticed her group of friends coming in with hushed "sorry's" as they got to their seat but something was different, she gave them a smile and a small wave before reverting her attention back so she wouldn't miss her name. They gave a loud cheer when Kendall's name was called, earning a couple weird stares from the rest of the people. After their ceremony they were guided to the field where the guests were being served.

Kendall joined the group, dressed in her uniform rather than her graduation gown and cap. She smiled as she hugged the girls and guys, ending off with Joel who held on a little bit longer than everyone else. Kendall looked down at her feet when they pulled away

"Oh my gosh girl you look gorgeous in uniform" Ray said cutting the tension
"Thanks" Kendall smiled
"So you're officially a fire woman!" Kat cheered
"Yeah we needed one of those" Aaliyah laughed "for when Christopher makes dinner"
"Which will never happen" Kat said patting his chest
"Hey! i make amazing scrambled eggs" Christopher protested "tell them Ray"
"Oh that's what gave you food poisoning" Erick snapped his fingers
"Babe you can't boil water" Kat giggled
"Well i see things are different since i left the house" Kendall pointed out "Mr and Mrs Colón are parents now"
"Yeah, this is Sienna" Ray smiled crouching down to Sienna's level who was making funny faces at Mia "Enna, say hello to aunt Kendall"
"Hi" Sienna smiled waving
"Awe hello angel" Kendall smirked waving back "how did you grow her so quick"
"Cute little process called adoption" Ray said "helps you keep your figure and keeps hubby happy"
"I'm not-
"She has you wrapped around her finger" Zabdiel pointed out
"Kinda like that ring" Kendall smirked "who did it?"
"Why do you think-
"Aaliyah" Kat laughed
"Oh now we see who wears the pants in the relationship" Kendall smirked

Richard looked over at Joel to find him looking at the book he had wrapped for Kendall. He nudged Aleesha and nodded in Joel's direction, the 2 having a silent conversation.

"Uh i think we should get food before it's all done" Aleesha said diverting the conversation
"Food yes" Christopher yelled running towards the hall with Kat jogging behind
"I think i'm good" Ray said "you hungry mamas?"
"Sí" Sienna nodded
"What you wanna eat?" Erick asked grasping her hand in his
"Nana!" Sienna squealed
"She has an unhealthy obsession with bananas" Ray laughed as her and Erick made their way to the hall
"the twin's are good so we're good" Aaliyah said
"Nena i think we should leave" Zabdiel said pulling her gently
"Boy get your hand off me" Aaliyah said
"Nena!" Zabdiel snapped "we're going"

Aaliyah huffed as Zabdiel grabbed the twins stroller and directed them to the hall, Aleesha and Richard following but not without giving Joel a thumbs up. Joel shifted into the balls of his feet

"wanna take a walk?" Kendall asked breaking the silence
"Sure" Joel said meekly
"I see you brought a gift" Kendall said signalling to the book he was fiddling with
"Yeah" Joel said handing it to her

Kendall peeled the wrapper off of it carefully, discarding it in a bin they were passing. Her eyes widened in shock at the gift in her hand.

"Joel" She said breathlessly "how did you get it?"
"You mentioned how much you wanted it so i made a couple calls and had it shipped here" Joel said sheepishly
"Joel that must have cost a lot of money" Kendall said sympathetically
"There's no price i could put on you" Joel shrugged
"Joel" Kendall said throwing her arms around him

Joel froze for a minute before reacting to the hug. As they pulled away Joel decided now was never and grabbed Kendall's face, putting their lips together but Kendall stood frozen in her step not reacting causing Joel to pull away.

"Fuck i'm so sorry" He apologised turning on his heel and walking away from Kendall despite her calls for him to stop.

Joel made his way to the hall where he spotted the group.
"Let's go" He said to Richard
"What? Why?" Ray asked "did you fuck up?"
"I- i think so" Joel said on the verge of tears
"What did you do? i wanna invite her to my wedding you know" Aaliyah said getting up
"I kissed her and she didn't kiss back okay" Joel rushed out running a hand through his hair
"You just caught me off guard" Kendall said from behind Joel

She grabbed his arm and pulled him into a kiss causing their friends to erupt into cheers from behind them. Both of them pulled away smiling.
"So, you wanna give it another try?" Joel smiled
"After my apology message" Kendall smirked back
