With New Years party preparations underway, Yashua thought it would be a great chance to pull Ray away into the back yard to talk to her considering how busy everyone was they probably wouldn't even notice. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the backyard, completely oblivious to Erick's eyes watching

"Okay before you speak or say anything i want you to know that everything i said about you at the table the other night was completely true, Ray i still love you." Yashua said all in one breath
"oh boy" Ray mumbled
"not the reaction i was expecting" Yashua pointed out "what's wrong?"
"are you seriously asking me that? Yashua what we had was 2 years ago. and there is no denying yes you do make me feel a type of way but the way i feel about Erick is stronger" Ray said sternly

Yashua took a step towards Ray, closing the gap between them. Putting them chest to chest, he could smell the faint smell of Erick's cologne on her mixed with the sweet smell of the fruit cake she'd had for breakfast

"tell me you don't wanna kiss me right now" Yashua breathed out
"She doesn't" Erick said from the door "so you might wanna take a step back"
"This is a conversation between A and B so C yourself out" Yashua spat
"How about you come closer and say that to my fist" Erick said coming closer but only to be blocked by Ray
"Papi, please don't do this" Ray whispered
"Say it Ray. Tell him who you really love" Yashua yelled from behind me

Before Ray could stop him, Erick had gotten to Yashua, only getting a single punch to his jaw in before being pulled off by Richard and lead to the house.

"I told you Yashua. I love Erick more than i love you why don't you understand that!" Ray yelled
"because it's not true!" Yashua matched
"Believe whatever the fuck you wanna believe but what happened back in Puerto Rico died there!" Ray spat in full anger "I'm happy Yashua and if you can't see that then you don't love me!"

Before Yashua could answer Ray spun on her heel and followed the boys to the bathroom. She took over from Richard, kneeling inbetween Erick's legs to take a look at his knuckles in absolute silence.

"Uhm we need costumes!" Joel said
"Aaliyah and I could go check at the costume shop?" Aleesha offered "plus I need to take my baby out on a spin"
"I'll come with!" Christopher said grabbing his jacket
"Let's go" Aleesha said grabbing her keys and kissing Richards cheek before heading out

Christopher took shotgun, connecting to the cars music system and blasting songs all the way to the mall. The trio got out and Chris offered to get them something to drink while they looked around

"I'm thinking sexy nurse for Ray? plus she needs to get her ass laid as in yesterday" Aaliyah said sifting through the costumes
"yeah, i assume the Yashua drama's not gone down well" Aleesha said "Look Li, i wanted to apologise for not being at your welcome home party"
"Technically it was a welcome ho party" Aaliyah corrected "but it's okay. really"
"I know you don't see eye to eye with my friendship with Yocelyn and-
"Look Aleesha, you can be friends with whoever you want, that's your choice but take into account the past. Surround yourself with people who want to build you and not break you" Aaliyah advised "now can we hug it out?"
"of cause" Aleesha yelled practically jumping into her arms

As they hugged they felt another pair of arms around them

"Group hug!" Christopher squealed like a girl
"Get off" Aaliyah said
"Move them arms off me or lose 'em" Aleesha threatened as Chris moved away
"no one likes me" Chris said in mock sadness
"Let's pay so we can go back and Erick can love you" Aaliyah said with a smile
"Now where the hell are our drinks?" Aleesha asked
"They're-" Christopher turned to see an empty spot where he had put them "i'll be back"

Aaliyah laughed while Aleesha shook her head. The girls paid for the costumes and met up with Christopher holding their drinks. They piled back into the Jeep and drove back home where it was just as busy as it was when they left. Joel came up to them

"What did you get?" he asked grabbing at the plastic bags
"Utuh tat tat!" Aleesha snapped swatting his hands off "you'll get them the night of"
"but what if they don't fit?" Zabdiel asked
"Sack of potatoes or naked" Aleesha smiled hopping back up the stairs
"I mean Aaliyah wouldn't mind but the rest of us would" Joel added in disgust
"I'm hiding them in my room" Aleesha yelled running up the stairs
"Don't run!" Aleesha's mum yelled
"sorry!"

Aleesha approached her room where Richards audible frustration could be heard through the crack. He was pissed and Aleesha could tell

"I thought we agreed no fucking drama!" Richard seethed
"I wasn't trying-
"Oh so practically forcing a kiss between you and Ray isn't starting drama?" Richard snapped "i get that you're in love with her or whatever but that wasn't the way to go about it!"
"oh would you rather i take her up to her room and fuck her instead?" Yashua said sarcastically
"I'm going to check on Erick, who you're going to apologise to along with Ray. and then stay the fuck away" Richard said poking Yashua's chest "or you're on the first fucking flight home"

Richard pushed past Aleesha angrily going towards the bathroom. Aleesha enetered quietly.

"Ray's had a crush on Erick since the beginning of time. I know she made that promise and whatever but it was probably under the deprivation of love from Erick. I know that's not what you want to hear but you're an amazing person Yashua, you have someone out there waiting for you" Aleesha encouraged "it's just not Ray"

Yashua looked visibly shattered by the news that Aleesha had delivered to him but quickly masked it with a smile, thanking Aleesha before leaving her. Aleesha made sure to hide the costumes somewhere where the group wouldn't look. Once she came downstairs she was met by Zabdiel excitedly showing Aaliyah what looked like a normal backpack

"A pokemon!? really!" Aaliyah said in disbelief
"Now we can bring Appa everywhere!" Zabdiel smiled
"Oh joy" Aaliyah said sarcastically
"you don't like it?" Zabdiel said with a frown
"uh so-
"anyone seen Christopher? he needs to help me peel these potatoes" Chris's mother said
"I'll help!" Aaliyah volunteered quickly leaving Zabdiel and going to the kitchen

Zabdiel looked over at Aleesha who shrugged just as confused
