"I came as soon as i heard is she okay?" Aaliyah rushed out arriving at the hospital along with Zabdiel
"she's fine, they just had to put her in a cast" Richard answered
"Wheres Aleesha?" Aaliyah asked
"Inside with her" Richard sighed "seems to like her more"
"Richard" Zabdiel said soothingly
"no, i know what you're going to say. save it" Richard said defeated
"Oh my god is she okay? i knew i should have installed that swing instead!" Joel said arriving with Erick and Christopher
"Richard i am so sorry" Christopher apologised
"it's alright man, her arm is just broken" Richard said
"I couldn't beat traffic any faster, how is the little angel!" A voice said behind the group

Everyone turned to see Ray standing there. She ran up to Richard to give him a hug and some words of encouragement before moving to greet the rest, her eyes stopping on Erick. Erick suddenly felt insecure under her gaze. He wore a baggy grey shirt with some dark grey sweats and trainers. He hadn't shaved or done his hair so he looked an absolute mess not to forget the bags under his eyes

"Hi" Ray said. Her voice angelic to him
"hey" he said gruffly clearing his throat
"I'll go get you something to eat down at the cafeteria" Ray excused before it got more awkward

Her heels clicked against the hospital floor as she rushed to get as far from Erick as possible her heart beating in her ears as she finally stopped in front of the new born babies section of the hospital. Her breathing slowed as she watched the small babies move in the incubators a smile adorned her face

"you know it's rude to stare" Erick said from around the corner startling Ray
"shit you scared me" Ray said hand on her chest
"sorry" he mumbled standing next to her watching the babies along

There was a silence that settled over them, not awkward but an acknowledgment of the topic at hand

"Look i know this isn't the ideal place to do it but i wanted to apologize. What you saw at the club was completely misinterpreted, she pushed herself onto me and kissed me, i pulled back and she pushed me on the couch and got on top of me. I promise i would never do that to you. Purposely break your heart? i wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing that you're crying at night because of me. I have for as long as i can remember, loved you Ray. I like how you find anime disgusting, how you hate romantic movies, how you hate your body but i think it's the absolute best body ever. I love how you gloss your lips even when there's enough to last you a lifetime on them but you always tell me a girl could never gloss enough. I love how you can't sleep without cuddling something, how you pace when you say your notes out loud so that you remember. How you hate loud chewers or gum poppers but you pop your gum. I could go on and on but basically since the day we met during orientation and you called me cubano and i called you mamita and you blushed i knew some day i would man up and ask you to be my girlfriend so here i am, Ray Rodriguez will you please make me the happiest Cuban on this planet and be my girlfriend?" Erick finished off

By this time the stinging in Ray's eyes had turned into full on tears. She sniffed a couple times before wiping the tears off her cheeks and opening her mouth to respond but when nothing came out she frantically began nodding, allowing herself to cry in Erick's arms when he pulled her into a hug

"i love you so much Ray" Erick said into her hair
"I love you too Cubano" Ray whispered
"Now that you 2 have made up Aaliyah's out of surgery" Christopher interrupted

Ray giggled and wiped her eyes, following the 2 boys to where the rest stood. Richard held Aaliyah on his hip as she smiled at Zabdiel making funny faces at her.

"Alright Mr Camacho just keep her on her meds and bring her in for a check up in 2 weeks. and also keep it in the sling and dry" The doctor said giving Richard the prescription
"Alright Li, go to Tio Zabdi while daddy gets your medicine" Richard said leaning into Zabdiel waiting her her to jump into his arms but instead she reached over and made granny arms at Aleesha who gladly put her on her hip

Aaliyah and Ray silently congratulated their best friend for the achievement. Everyone dispersed to their respective vehicles, deciding it would be better if they stayed at the CNCO house to monitor Aaliyah. 16 ears are better than 10- especially when 6 of them were actually vigilant.

The boys set out the dinner table when Aleesha put Aaliyah to sleep.

"Pass me the salt please" Aaliyah asked
"So you 2 made up?" Joel asked pointing between Ray and Erick
"yeah" Erick smiled
"boyfriend and girlfriend?" Christopher asked
"nope, back to best friends" Ray answered quickly earning a questionable look from her best friends and the boys
"wait really?" Aaliyah asked
"yup, it's better that way" Ray shrugged
"Erick?" Joel asked
"Agreed" Erick smiled

"Oh my god who made this chicken" Aleesha said spitting it out
"Yup, it has 0 flavour" Ray added
"Yup, Christopher put his heart and soul into it" Erick joked earning a middle finger from Christopher

Once dinner was done with everyone dispersed to their rooms. Richard day staring into space while Aleesha got ready for bed. What happened with Aaliyah still hadn't left his conscious, he felt like a bad father, he should have known that her arm was broken but he tried to move her

"Rich, baby what's wrong" Aleesha asked climbing into bed
"I- i just feel so bad for not knowing that my own daughter had a broken arm" Richard sighed
"Baby you couldn't have known i mean you don't watch Greys Anatomy" Aleesha said trying to lighten the mood
"But the way she asked for you rather than me, i mean don't get me wrong i love that she loves you but- it kinda hurt" Richard explained
"which is understandable, but don't beat yourself up baby, it was a mistake and you were panicking, she's okay so don't worry okay" Aleesha said pulling him into her embrace "i love you"
"i love you too baby"

Down the hall Erick sat watching Ray apply her mud mask
"why didn't you tell everyone" he blurted out catching Ray off guard
"cause i don't want them to know" Ray said calmly "and don't come at me with that 'i'm embarrassed of you' shit because i'm not. I just wanna keep messing with them"
"you sneaky little girl" Erick smirked standing behind her "If they catch us before graduation then you have to wear a matching cap with me" Ray said catching Ericks eye through the mirror
"seems fair, and if they catch us after then you owe me something i'll think of later" Erick smirked carefully kissing her lips
"mess my mask up and i will hurt you" Ray smiled
"too late" Erick said smeering her cheek
"ERICK!" Ray squealed chasing him out the door
