The next morning was pretty awkward to say the least, Erick and Ray weren't speaking and Zabdiel and Aaliyah were sitting love struck. Richard was too busy nursing Aleesha's hangover so Christopher and Joel were left with the demanding task of entertainment, which didn't last long because the minute Ray finished her cereal she made her way upstairs

Settling on top of the bed she had slept in alone she pulled her phone out and dialled the only person she knew would have the best advice for her. Her cousin Lunay, but he didn't answer so she flopped on the bed in defeat

Jeff😤 i can't answer calls rn, i'm in a meeting what's up lil sis?

Ray tossed her phone on the bed just as the door swung open

"Hey we're going out for lunch, if you wanna join?" Aaliyah asked
"nah, i think i'll sit this one out" Ray shrugged
"we're getting mcdonald's, you sure" Aaliyah eyed her best friend
"yeah" Ray smiled
"Ray are you okay?" Aaliyah asked
"i'm fine Li, i promise" Ray smiled "Go get your man boo"

Aaliyah bid her farewell before closing the door and making her way downstairs. Erick's shoulders slightly dropped when she came down alone but he didn't expect her to forgive him so easily. Everyone packed into the van, making their way to McDonalds where they got a corner booth

"I'll have a small fry" Aaliyah said handing Joel the menu back
"You sure?" Zabdiel asked her quietly behind his menu
"What you mean by that Mr De Jesús?" Aaliyah poked
"i mean you did tell me that the last date you went to you ordered a small fry and left practically hungry" Zabdiel laughed quietly

Aaliyah's heart jumped at the small detail he remembered. She offered him a smile and a slight push for that as they handed their menus back.

"Okay it's time to address the elephant in the room" Aleesha said forwardly "my best friend didn't come to her favourite restaurant because someone hurt her"

Everyone's eyes averted to Erick who was blankly stirring his fizzy sprite with a straw

"Erick what did you do to the girl?" Joel asked
"She found him kissing some girl last night" Richard answered
"You what?" Aaliyah asked "so that's why she hasn't said 2 words to anyone today"
"Dude, c'mon she likes you!" Aleesha said "we need to fix this"
"Yeah we cannot have her spiralling again" Aaliyah said seriously
"spiralling?" Christopher asked
"Yeah, whenever Ray feels any kind of sadness or anger you know, she withdraws herself and kinda jumps into work mode until she's worked herself to the bone. Hardly ever eats or speaks" Aleesha explained
"Last time she ended up in hospital and that was in high school" Aaliyah said

Erick's ears were pricked up at this, he too hadn't said a word. At this new information he shot out of his seat making a beeline straight out of the restaurant. Everyone sat shocked before it subsided and they fell into their own separate conversations  until the food came along.

Aaliyah's head turned at the feel of something getting stuck in her hair, she reached around to pull a fry out of her hair, turning to the snickering boys

"If you don't tell me who threw this you will shit fries for the next week" She threatened as they all pointed towards Christopher
"i can't believe this madness" Christopher said in defeat
"Try me again and i'll send you back to Ecuador" Aaliyah said tossing the fry back at them
"aye papa" Richard mocked

They soon finished, taking a meal back home with them for Ray. Zabdiel sat back, pulling Aaliyah along with him to hide in the play center of the restaurant. Before Aaliyah could ask what he was up to he put a finger to his mouth signalling for her to keep quiet. After a while they walked out to see their friends had disappeared

"How are we going to get home now genius" Aaliyah said
"Uber" Zabdiel smirked holding his phone up "but i wanted to show you a place, if you let me"

Zabdiel held his hand out waiting for Aaliyah to take it.

"c'mon mami, take a leap of faith"
