Ray smoothed her dress over one last time before slipping her graduation gown over it and slipping her heels on. Erick watched her from the bed through the mirror they caught eyes smiling at each other. Erick came up from behind her wrapping his arms around her waist and setting his chin on her shoulder

"I honestly wouldn't have pictures graduation day like this" He confessed
"what do you mean?" Ray giggled
"I thought i'd still be either pinning over you or in the friend zone" Erick said with a slight laugh
"thank god that's not the case cause we wouldn't have made it through these exams without each other" Ray said
"you mean me having to pry you off your desk to come cuddle me?" Erick joked "or me having to make sure you ate?"
"okay we get it you kept me alive" Ray said rolling her eyes playfully
"more like you kept me alive mami" Erick said
"okay enough with the sappy shit" Her roommate said entering the room
"oh hush, you're going to miss us" Ray said turning towards the girl
"oh I'm not going to miss the study dates, food packets laying around and i'm especially not going to miss feeling single around you two" She listed exasperatedly

Ray laughed and pulled her into a hug, giving her final goodbyes to her roommate of 2 years before grabbing their luggage and making their way to Erick's car. They were finally graduating and seeing their friends after what felt like forever.

"have you checked your phone?" Erick asked
"426 messages from our group, and not to mention the individual texts i've gotten and a couple missed phone calls from my cousin and mom" Ray shrugged "texted my mom back though"
"the boys were freaking out about me missing" Erick informed his girlfriend
"yeah well we did go off the grid for 2 weeks" Ray laughed slightly
"well they'll see that they don't have to become a quartet" Erick smiled "now let's go graduate"

They made their way to their seating arrangement, Ray at the end of the line with Erick at the close beginning. They spotted their friends filing close to the beginning of the crowd. Ray slightly gasped at the sight of her mom sitting next to Aaliyah, giving Erick a nod in their direction. The two collected their scrolls from the head master with a firm handshake

"And now a speech from our valedictorian of this year" He announced before stepping aside for Ray
"4 years ago we walked in here with dreams and ambitions. We had no idea how hard we had to work, we lost a couple of our comrades to the struggle but with a couple of ice coffees and long nights of studying here we are, proud graduates. Some of us walk away with more than just a degree but to new wide eyed stars we say, hold on, it's nothing like High School Musical but it's something" Ray finished off. The crowd clapped and cheered

The group was lead down to the field where they took their pictures before their relatives were allowed to come in and congratulate them. Ray ran towards her mother, embracing her tightly, slightly crying at the warm feeling that erupted in her chest

"thank god for water proof mascara" Ray slightly joked pulling away from her mother
"felicidades mi princes" her mom said to her with tears in her eyes
"gracias mami" Ray said wiping her moms tears
"i think it's time ma met someone" Aleesha half coughed
"yes!" Ray perked pulling Erick to her side "mami, this is Erick"
"from Facetime? right nice to finally meet the man my daughter speaks so highly of" Ray's mom said making Ray blush
"Nice to finally meet the woman responsible for this phenomenal woman" Erick said hugging Ray's mom
"and he's a charmer" Her mom smirked winking at her daughter
"mami" Ray whined
"okay okay, i'm going to the cafeteria, anyone want anything? you all look so skinny" Ray's mom said

Everyone shook their heads. Once Ray's mom was gone the boys and girls congratulated the 2 youngest on their amazing achievement

"Okay we disappear for 2 weeks and i find out i've been replaced by Richards baby momma" Ray said looking at Aleesha "and you 2 are instagram official"
"it was against my knowledge" Aaliyah said raising her hands
"Yocelyn and I are just friends" Aleesha said
"I mean enough for her to forget about my welcome home party but that's not the point. We're here to celebrate you 2" Aaliyah said with a tight smile
"Honestly Aaliyah just say it. spit it out. say it with your chest" Aleesha said stepping up to her best friend
"Keep it classy ladies we're in public" Ray whispered
"How about we go home and have Ray's mom buss out some food for these two" Christopher suggested "i'm sure they tired of that take out life"
"sure as hell am" Erick laughed
"Home it is!" Zabdiel yelled
