Ray woke up in Erick's hotel bed alone, the sound of the shower running and Erick's voice confirmed his whereabouts. She smiled at the sound of him humming a song which he had forcibly made him listen to. Turning to her side she grabbed the nearest phone to check the time but the wallpaper made her realise it was Erick's and not hers. She went to put it down but a text caught her eye

Nadia when is she leaving?

Ray reluctantly unlocked Erick's phone, her heart beating in her ears as she opened his messages. She clicked on the conversation and as known curiosity killed the cat and the cat was her heart. The sound of the shower water coming to a close jolted her out of her heartbroken daze, she quickly screenshot the conversations and sent them to herself, deleting them right after and the texts before tossing his phone to the side

"Watermelon- oh morning mami" Erick smiled. Ray couldn't help but look at his naked torso that was dripping with water. "eyes are up here"

Erick pulled himself to her side of the bed
"Last night was fun" he said kissing underneath her ear

Ray snapped out of it, shaking her head and getting out of bed quickly. She didn't say a word to Erick, pulling herself into the shower and locking the door. Erick shrugged her grumpiness off as her being her usual morning self. Ray stood in the shower not knowing what to make of what she had just seen, she finally had everything she wanted and she felt happy which she didn't want to end.

She put her back to the shower wall, opening the hot water to muffle her cries as she slid down, hugging her knees to her chest and putting her forehead on her knees.

In the room next door Aaliyah and Zabdiel slept tangled in the crisp and tired hotel sheets when Aleesha burst into the room not even waking them

"are you 2 serious?? we're in Puerto Rico and you're sleeping?" Aleesha yelled jumping on the bed
"make it stop" Aaliyah mumbled "you're going to make me sick"
"if i push her off the bed do you think Richard would hurt me?" Zabdiel asked
"yes, and i kinda need you in one piece" Aaliyah smiled sleepily hugging herself closer to Zabdiel
"is this how disgusting i sound when i'm in love?" Aleesha asked ruining the moment between the 2
"get out" Aaliyah said pushing her friend off the bed
"I will once you 2 get out of bed" Aleesha said getting up "i'm going to go get Ray and Erick and if you 2 arn't ready by 10 i'm throwing hands"
"whatever"

Aleesha crosses the hall and knocked on the door, Erick opened it combing out his hair

"what's cooking Cuba" Aleesha greeted poking his stomach
"nothing, just doing my hair" Erick answered
"well wheres Ray?" Aleesha asked looking around the room "did you murder my best friend?"
"no, who do you suggest i marry then?" Erick laughed
"we've got a few liable candidates waiting downstairs" Aleesha joked "but deadass"
"she's been in the shower for the past half an hour" Erick said

Just as he spoke the door to the bathroom opened, Ray walked out silently, fully but dully dressed with a towel wrapped around her hair. She mumbled something about needing to use Aleesha's hairdryer before pushing past her en route to Aleesha's room.

Aleesha looked at Erick, silently asking him what was wrong through her eyes. Erick shrugged and sighed

"she hasn't spoken to me since she woke up" Erick said "maybe it's her usual morning grumpiness"
"i know my best friend, it's been half an hour since she woke up she should be her usual self" Aleesha said "what did you do"
"nothing, i swear!" Erick said in surrender
"then what's the reason for her dressing like a bum knowing fully well that we're in her home country!" Aleesha questioned "that might i add is full of hot men"
"i really don't know" Erick sighed his eyes trained on the door Ray disappeared into "wait- what?"
"nevermind"

In Aleesha's room Ray sat on the bed staring blankly at the text message screenshots on her phone. She hadn't noticed she was crying again until a tear drop fell onto her screen.

"Babe i saw- oh hey Ray" Richard said entering his room "sorry i thought you was Aleesha"
"it's okay, i was about to leave anyways" Ray said in a sunken voice

Richard watched as she wiped her face with the back of her sleeve and stood up, he saw the redness of her eyes and nose and immediately reached out for her wrist to stop her

"woah, what happened? is there an ass i need to beat?" Richard asked carefully

That was all it took for her to break down and cry, and hard. The room began to spin around her as her breaths became shorter and shorter. Ray began to count trying her best to focus on Richard's voice but she shouldn't everything was spiralling.

Richard watched in panic as Ray tried to get herself back to normal from what seemed like an anxiety attack, he tried to talk to her asking her to follow his pattern of breathing but the poor girl failed and passed out cold
in Richards arms

"Babe did Ray come in- oh my god what happened" Aleesha said seeing Richard lay his friend on the bed
"anxiety attack i would assume, she passed out" Richard explained
"fuck" Aleesha cursed beginning to pace the room "we need to tell Erick"
"wait, she started crying before, why didn't she go to erick before?" Richard asked
"i don't know he said she he hadn't spoken to him since she woke up" Aleesha said "this calls for a serious intervention"
