River Blair.

" We need to talk!" My mate's voice comes through the mind link. The urgency in his voice making me nervous.
I was currently drying the dishes at the dinner while Greta did the actual washing.
I simply hated doing dishes... I would rather scrub floors!

" What's wrong?" I ask, dreading the answer.

My thoughts were beginning to run wild with imagination. I was conjuring up reasons as to why he wanted to talk. When someone you're seeing tells you they need to talk, it's always a bad sign.. trust me.
It's barely been two days since he admitted to falling for me and now he wants to break my heart. My poor heart!

" I'll explain later. We need to talk in person." Sebastian says.

I gulp, and stand frozen. That wasn't good.

" What's wrong with you?? You look constipated!" Greta says, noticing I wasn't wiping the large plate I was holding.

I wish I was just constipated honestly. I would gladly welcome that feeling compared to what I was feeling now.
" Sebastian wants to talk." I simply stare, resuming my task.

She must sense my dread because her face softens. She was definitely about to throw a mean comment!
That girl!
" Am sure it's nothing serious. People talk all the time. I mean we are talking right?"

" Yaaa. Thanks for that. But I need to go. He says it's urgent." I give her an apologetic look.

Surprisingly she doesn't object.. but simply nods with a small smile.
" I can handle this. Don't sweat it."
She knew now wasn't the time to mock me. And I appreciated that.

" Thanks. I'll see you at home." I tell her, then proceeded to take my apron off.
Before I leave, I give her a kiss on the cheek.
" Don't worry too much. He probably just missed you." She says trying to calm me.

I simply nod, then head out the dinner.
If this was a break up call, where he says that stupid line of it's not you but me, I was definitely going to slap the guy!

I entered the library feeling so apprehensive. Why he asked to meet here was confusing me. The library was a large space, filled with rows and columns of books. A mini maze I suppose. Though there was a basement where all the secrets were kept. The top was for normal books that everyone could access.
I was to head to the basement..
Creepy! I Know.

There were a few people seated at the tables, reading goddess knows what. I wave at a few I recognize as I head to the basement door. Yes, I Didn't know every wolf in this pack. It was a large one.
The door was marked private, in big bold letters. I push the heavy metallic door open and start to descend the stairs, my heart rate increasing with each step I take.
I carefully make my way down, thank full for the bright lights that made the place less creepy.
When my feet hit the tiled floor I take in a deep breath, mentally preparing myself for the unknown.

I hear voices in the back and decide to head in that direction. He probably brought back up for whatever he planned on doing.. am a total pessimist, I know. But I just can't help it. This whole mate thing has been a roller coaster ride for me.
As I draw closer, I identify the voices. It's Greg and Sebastian. They are talking in hushed tones.. I silently approach, both of them too deep in whatever they were whispering about to even notice me.

" You know, no one can hear you guys this deep underground. No need to whisper." I say.

Greg's head snaps up so fast from the book he was looking at.
They definitely didn't hear me coming.
Sebastian swiftly leaves Greg's side and speed walks to me, drawing me into a tight embrace. Burying his head in the crook of my neck.
My eyes widen at the display of affection.
I definitely wasn't expecting it. But it was more than welcome.
I slowly wrap my arms around his waist. Breathing in our mixed scents. It was heavenly.
He reluctantly steps out of my arms, and looks at me with an expression I couldn't read.
