River's POV.

It had worked! I couldn't believe I'd actually pulled it off. When I sent Sebastian ahead, I had this idea of creating an army of iced wolves. But I wasn't sure it would work since all the ones I'd created before were really small.
But standing before me were thousands of iced wolves twice my size!
I'd even added a few Huxembeasts in the mix. It had taken awhile and serious concentration but I'd actually done it. And now for the final touch, I strip and shift into my midnight black wolf. My iced army was immobile, but the moment I shift and my pendant glows, they all stir to life. Roars, howls and growls resonate through out the forest as cold gusts of wind whip all around my army. I lead the charge towards the centre of the fight, my deadly armies right behind me.

Don't worry Sebastian, am coming!

My paws hit the ground noisily, and together with the creatures behind me, the noise is thunderous. Everything we were going through was turned to ice. The ground, the trees, everything. I was going all out.. using every tool I could think of. My pack needed this victory. Wolves out there needed this victory. It was a war for survival. If we lost, the entire werewolf race was doomed. We might as well just die.
We break through the clearing and the first thing I notice is the cabins on fire. I concentrate my energy in putting out the fires and they all burn out. Only smoke continues to rise into the cold night sky. The scene before me is exactly as I saw in my vision... Except for the dead children. There were no children among the bodies that lay piled on each other. My pack was clearly having it rough, even with Sebastian out there. It hadn't been easy. It was now just a handful of us still standing.

Where was Casper??

And was that Greta? I couldn't be so sure. But something told me it was her.
If Greta was out fighting then it meant the warriors needed all the help they could get. And I would be that help. I would crash the enemy beneath my feet and dance on their corpses once it was all done.
My eyes are drawn towards my mate who is already staring at me. His Huxembeast looming over a hunter half torn to pieces.

" You're here. Now what?" he asks. But I can hear the relief and happiness in his voice.

" Now you defend. And I attack. No one crosses to the Bunker." I say before turning to the wolves that I intend to finish off. My iced army following my every move. When I moved they moved.
My pendant glows as I give my silent command for them to fight.

And they do just that. Whatever they touched either froze or turned to ice before shattering. They brought chills with them, frozen cold air swirling all around. The Huxembeasts were like giant golems knocking down anything that stood in their way. The hunters didn't stand a chance. The wolves didn't either. With renewed hope of a victory, the remaining warriors fight with everything they've got. They had alot to lose after all, their families, their pack.
I would win this war for them. For my Mate. For me.

" How should we do this? A storm, flood or titanic ice block?" Zane asks

" All of it. We Are going all out Zane. Let's drown them, freeze them, choke them, suffocate them. Unleash it all." I tell my wolf.

Freezing rain pelts us, as water bursts through the trees drowning all the wolves that we're still hidden in the trees. I would flash them all out, no one would survive. My iced army was ruthless, efficient and deadly. They were indestructible. They mulled, crushed, gutted and tore through wolves and hunters leaving them dead. It was hard to fight while controlling my army but I tried.
Somehow, I end up back to back with Sebastian. I'd ploughed my way through the enemy and it was like our bodies gravitated towards one another. The moment we are in the same space, our pendants glow so bright my wolf is blinded. A white light goes off all around us like some sort of wave, knocking hunters and wolves down. Almost like a nuclear weapon had gone off.
Sebastian and I step back in shock, creating distance between us and the white light disappears.

" What the fuck was that?" Sebastian asks, still shocked at the new power.

" I don't know. But I think it works when we are close together." I tell him.

He moves closer and the white light reappears, sending off a nuclear wave once more.
We were stronger together. A force to reckon with.

Wave after wave hits the wolves around us and they never recover. The warriors finish off the strugglers who don't seem to give up. A grey wolf runs off into the forest and Sebastian takes off after it breaking the new energy we were creating.

" Who is that?"

" Their leader! I can't let him get away." Sebastian says.

He better not let him get away.. I didnt need him crawling to safety only to build another army.

A sharp pain pierces my leg and I look down to see a silver arrow buried deep in my hind leg.

" Move one step and I'll blow your brains out."

Satin!
Why can't this girl just die!
How did she even break out of her cell??

I slowly turn and face her, my eyes taking in her human appearance. I start to wonder why she wasn't in wolf form.. since that would be the best form to be in during a fight. I decide to voice my thoughts to distract myself from the pain in my leg.

"You had to attack me with an arrow?? How pathetic! What kind of wolf are you? Or your own wolf has realized how evil you are and deserted you?" I mind link.

That last one must have gotten to her because she flinches.
Huh! So it's like that? I taunt her further.

" I see why the poor wolf has abandoned you. It must have been torture having you for a human. Imagine the trauma your wolf has been subjected to, having to coexist with you."

Ouch!
I mentally yell when another arrow embeds deep in my thigh.
This bitch!

" One more word and I'll run an arrow through your balls!" She grinds out.

I growl at her. This girl was really testing my patience.

" Am going to enjoy killing you. Finally. I've dreamt of this day for so long."

" You're a pathetic miserable bitch. And I will be the one doing the killing. That I can assure you." I tell her.

I don't even give her time to process my words before I start chocking her. The bow drops from her hands and she wraps her hands around her neck, clawing at her neck. She starts to turn blue but I tighten my invisible hold on her neck. It was getting hard for me to remain standing because of the arrows in my leg so I stumble Abit. I was probably bleeding out but I didn't care. My eyes glow brighter as I dip her head into water drowning her. She splatters, fighting against the invisible water, struggling to draw breath.
I would give her a slow painful death. I was damn tired of her making my life miserable.
Suddenly, her neck snaps to the side and she drops to the ground. And I stare at the Huxembeast behind her. . My mate had ended her for me. Apparently I was taking too long.
I stare at him shocked before finally giving in to my injuries. I feel myself fall but I don't make it to the ground. Sebastian grabs me and I feel myself shift. My body couldn't sustain the transformation much longer.

" You did good babe. We did good. It's over now." He says.

" Did you get their leader? Did we win?" I question.

" I did. Let's just say he won't be giving us any more trouble. And yes we won. You made sure of that."

I nod my head. I felt so tired and light headed.

" You killed her." I mumble, my eyes slowly shutting down.

"When I told you I would kill for you, and die for you. I meant every word. You're my soulmate. "

His voice is the last thing I hear before finally giving into the sleep that beckons me. But one word stands out more.

SOUL Mate.
