River's POV

My body is enveloped in something so warm and fluffy and the comfort it provides sends me back into a light comfortable sleep, a small smile curved onto my lips. This bed was pure heaven!
My happiness is short lived though, when the hair at the back of my neck rises.. It felt like my body was trying to warn me of some sort of danger. I startle out of my blissful sleep and sit up in bed, my sleep loaded eyes scanning the room.

Nothing, and no one!

I breathe out in relief, but the feeling doesn't go away. Infact it intensifies and I frantically take in my surroundings. I could have missed something.

Still nothing.

" Use your ears!" Zane says.

Right!! That werewolf ability had skipped my mind. I'd grown accustomed to using my human abilities for most of my life.
I focus all my hearing on my surroundings, both the room and beyond it. I hear a tap drip, the soft hum of the air conditioner, a bird chirping somewhere outside and..
Are those footsteps??

I listen intently.

Yes! Definitely footsteps. Someone was downstairs. And basing on the way my body was reacting, this person was more foe than friend.
I throw the covers back exposing my naked body and jump out of bed. I frantically search for the clothes Sebastian had given me earlier. I notice them laid neatly on the back of his desk chair.
I grab the boxers first, yanking them up my legs.
I wasn't about to be attacked while still butt naked! It wouldn't be a fair fight.
By the time am fully dressed, the intruder has already made their way up the stairs and is definitely heading my way.
I stand back, watching the closed door intently.

" Okay here's the plan.. burst all water pipes and drown them!" Zane confidently says.

Huh! Good thinking. You know since we can't shift and all. My element is my best form of defense.
Okay however this idiot was, they had guts! Breaking into the Alpha cabin. But they were about to see what I could do. Though I silently prayed it wasn't a hunter. It had been grilled into my head since I was a child that hunters were ruthless. Human monsters.
The door knob slowly turns and I watch as if in slow motion as said person makes their way into the bedroom.

And it's none other than Satin Baker!
This girl was definitely looking for something from me.

I find myself releasing the breath I didn't know I was holding.
Now Satin I can handle. Hunters?? Not so sure yet.
She struts into the room like she owns the place, her sneaker clad feet leaving muddy streaks on the carpeted floor.

" Well hello little fairy! I didn't see you there.." she mocks, an evil smile plastered on her delicate face.

I would be lying if I said she wasn't pretty. The girl was gorgeous. With the perfect shade of blonde hair, honey brown eyes and so on.. I could clearly see why my mate fell for her.

"What are you doing here?" I ask in a bored tone already feeling disappointed. I was hyped up for a physical fight not a verbal one.
She snickers, the sound irritating me to no end.

" I live in StreamVille if you hadn't noticed." She says, walking towards the bed.

" I don't mean this town. What are doing in this cabin? In this room?"
I was really trying to be nice but she was testing my patience.

" You know we could kill her and claim it was in self defense." Zane points out.

True!

" Oh River, River.. you know Sebastian and I used to Fuck in this same bed. Those same sheets. He would bury himself deep inside me, screaming my name as he reached his high.
I can imagine how you must be feeling after using those sheets. I mean I can still smell our mixed cum. Can you smell it?? Just breathe in.. it's intoxicating." she visibly inhales then smiles wickedly.

" Shut up." I say, my voice dangerously calm.

" By the way don't think you're something special. Cause that shirt you're wearing, guess what! I wore it too. Right after he fucked me. So yes, you may be the 'it' now, but trust me, all he's doing to you, he did to me first." She says, looking very pleased with herself.

And I almost slap the shit out of her.
But I don't. I didn't want to be the first to throw a punch. How then would I claim self defense??
I take slow deliberate steps towards her and stop right infront of her stupid face.

" I know what you're trying to do. But sadly, it won't work. He may have wanted you then, but now?? You're nothing but a used rag. Fucked and tossed aside. It didn't last. But this, between me and Sebastian is forever. We are soul mates! Get that into your head. I don't care where he fucked you or how he fucked you. Those are memories you can keep to get yourself off because he will NEVER look at you or WANT you ever again." I spit out the words.

But I had lied about one thing, what she had said had gotten to me. I was burning with jealousy.
She just stares at me, face twisted and red with anger.

" Did you get what I said?! Or should I tweet it to you?" I sass

" You will be sorry River! Trust me. You have no idea of what am capable of doing to get what I want. And you my dear, are about to go down. Not even your glowy non existent wolf will be able to save you."
The way she says those words sends a cold chill down my spine.

What could she be planning??

" Do your worst Satin. I dare you to cross me, or Sebastian or this pack." I fire right back.
A sinister smile breaks out across her face.

" See you never River Blair." She says before spinning on her heel and practically skipping out of the room.

I stay rooted to the spot, listening to her footsteps as she makes her unwelcomed presence out of the cabin. I only relax when I hear the front door softly close.
I drop heavily onto the bed, the verbal exchange had really drained me emotionally.
Everything was just hitting me at once and I feel so angry.
I couldn't believe I'd slept in these sheets.. sheets he'd fucked her in!
I jump to my feet and start to vigorously yank said sheets off the matress. I pull at the bedcover, carelessly throwing it on the floor before resuming my task. Once the matress is bare, I drop down to the carpeted floor still boiling with anger. Then I feel the familiar pressure in my head before Sebastian's voice breaks through.

" What's wrong babe? Are you okay? I can feel your anger." he mind links.
I don't bother with a reply but simply block him out.
As I turn to grab the sheets with the intention of tossing them out, my eyes spot my ink covered arm.
I bring my arm to my line of vision and realise it's a message.

Meet me at the training grounds. I love you.❤️

The heart at the end only fuels my anger.
I get to my feet, yanking the sheets off the floor in the process. That's when I remember am still wearing the shirt as well. I drop my bugagge, pull off the shirt and let it join the sheets in annoyance. They were all going to the trash!
Childish I know, but I just couldn't help the jealousy clawing at my insides.
I head to the closet and root for one of the shirts I gave him. I find one quickly and put it on then head back out to finish the job. I grab the sheets and shirt then move to the corner of the room. I remembered seeing a bin around.
I ball the fabrics before tossing them in.
He should find himself new sheets!

I stomp my way out of the room slamming the door shut behind me.
