Chapter 19

River Blair.

I was currently pacing outside the local bar and  was still fuming from earlier. If you looked closely I bet you could see steam coming out my ears. I was that mad. I must have read the signs wrong. I honestly thought he was trying to have a relationship with me as mates. But to think it was just so he could become alpha after his dad was making bile rise in my throat.. I honestly believed I had a shot, that I could make him want me as much as I want him. This was just so messed up!

It was taking everything in me to keep my shit together. I must have gotten here early because Sebastian was nowhere in sight. I run a hand through my hair and ground my teeth together. All these years of unrequited love was getting to me. And I was now acting irrational.
Goddess help me!

I guess you're wondering what am doing at a bar.. well let me tell you.
After leaving the training grounds, I made up my mind to confront Sebastian. I didn't want to do it in front of his mother. That woman was a saint! Didn't want to break her heart. So I decided to wait till I could get the culprit alone. Hence the bar.
Archer had told me he'd be here. The guy knew everything under the sun.
According to him, this is where he hangs out after his evening run. I didn't even know he run in the evenings! I must really be off my game.
I used to know everything Sebastian, down to what he liked for breakfast! Now I was clueless on a number of things.
I needed to get back on track.

I didn't want to enter the bar because I hated the smell of alcohol. This bar was on another level though. It was strictly werewolf! Since werewolves have  high levels of alcohol tolerance, the shit sold here would give a normal human straight out alcohol poisoning with just a couple sips. I once heard a rumour that they served drinks that could knock you out for good. Never to see the light of day!

It was that dangerous!

Am still pacing when I hear Casper's loud laugh. The guy was loud and boisterous. I always wondered how he scored the Beta position. I doubt it was because of either of those qualities.
Just as I turn towards the sound, the entire gang appears from the corner of the bar. They must have come from the woods on foot. No car was in sight.
I stop my pacing when they approach me, Sebastian in the lead of his mini pack.
His conversation with Elliot is effectively cut off when he notices me. A look of confusion flashes across his face before it's replaced with nonchalance.

Am not fazed one bit though.

"I need to talk to you" I say the moment he's close enough.
To my surprise, it's the arrogant fool that replies. Shane. That's the idiots' name.

"You need to show your Alpha some respect!" he snaps at me.

" Who are you?? His guard dog?" I sass

" Watch your mouth boy! I see why you were named after a water body.. you love to run your mouth." Shane says, with a smirk on his face.

I wanted to kill him. I almost did. Imagine the nerve of the guy!
I was seething with anger and I could feel myself about to have a wolf possession episode. Zane was fighting for control. He wanted blood. Am sure if he managed to possess me he would tear shane to shreds. I was losing grip on my wolf and I could feel my eyes begin to glow. I shut them and spun around. Then addressed Sebastian, who shockingly hadn't said a single word during this verbal exchange with shane.

" We need to talk Sebastian. Please put your dog on a leash before I do something I might regret." I say as calmly as I could.
Zane was putting up a good fight and I could feel my control slip.

" You son of a bitch..."
Shane doesn't get to finish his sentence before his dragged away by Casper and Elliot I assume.
I walk a little further from the bar and only turn around when am certain it's only my mate.

" You can open your eyes. They're gone." he says, as cool as a cucumber.
I swear I almost slap him across the face. The guy was seriously pissing me off!

" I know." I snap, but open my eyes none the less. They were glowing.

" Did you ask for a chance with me  because your dad wouldn't step down unless you had a mate?" I ask bitterly.

He's quiet...
That's never a good sign. Ever.

" Answer me Sebastian"
He looks frustrated. With what, I don't know.

" What do you want me to say! I've been transparent with you from the word go. And you knew I hadn't moved on from satin. Besides, I never made any promises!" he exclaims, irritation written all over his face.

I stood dumbfounded! that wasn't what I expected him to say at all. I felt tears prickling my eyes.. How could he be so insensitive?
And say such hurtful things!

" Your such an asshole Sebastian Decker! You have no shame. And no morals. First you deceive me , making me believe we could be something yet all along am just a pawn in your game!! You're so fucked up. And as if that's not enough, you let your arrogant fool of a friend disrespect me! And you say nothing!" I was now yelling.

" Blair, you need to calm down!" he snaps. " Stop acting like I promised to marry you. We aren't even dating. I don't get why you're so mad." he adds.

That was the last straw! I lost control of zane and he effectively possessed my body.
Before I knew it, my eyes were glowing brighter than ever and I was growling at my mate and future Alpha.

" Don't you ever speak to us like that again. Or I might be forced to reject you, Alpha mate. Consequences be damned." My wolf says, he's deep voice dangerously calm even I had to cower in the back of my mind.
Panic flashes in Sebastian's eyes. Then shock.

Yep! My wolf was a force to reckon with.
