Chapter 17

River Blair.

Last night wasn't what I expected. I thought Sebastian was going to reject me. Or maybe ask me to stay away and pretend he didn't exist. None of those happened though. Instead, he asked to give us a try.  I know that doesn't mean we are dating or anything.. am not that stupid. We are simply trying things out. Although that's not how the mating originally works. Mates fall in love with each other the moment their eyes meet.. cliche right? But we weren't like the common mates. Sebastian had been in love before, and I had loved him way before I realized we were destined to be together. Yaaa.. our story was definitely off the books. Not the traditional love story.

Last night however, I promised to make him forget her. Not sure where the boldness came from, guess I was just fed up with the whole Sebastian- satin saga. I needed to create my own love story. I don't know how yet but I will. Sebastian was my mate. And to keep him, I needed to win him over.
Problem was, I didn't know where to start! I was clueless. Absolutely clueless.
Then a thought came on in my head like a light bulb.
Archer! Yes I needed Archer.
He was the expert on everything and anything.
I jump out of bed and root for my phone under a pile of clothes I dropped down.

" You seem overly excited this morning Blair." a familiar voice startles me, effectively cutting me off from my search.
I looked around my room trying to find Sebastian but he wasn't anywhere. I was confused! Where was the voice coming from??

" It's the mind link Blair. I couldn't possibly be in your room could I?"

My eyes widen. They seemed to be doing that alot lately.

" How. " I tentatively say in my head. I still wasn't used to voices in my head. I was still getting used to zane after all.

" I told you I would fix it didn't I?" comes his reply.

Contrary to what people think, a mind link isn't automatic. The Alpha of the pack initiates his members into it. It's like a wireless communication network. You needed to be added. I was never part of it because I had no wolf and I wasn't mated. Which is the only other way to get connected. If your mated to a wolf that's part of a park, the mind link automatically connects. This mainly applied to humans.
Which explains why I was never a part of it.
But now it seemed like I was. I guess he told his dad about me having a wolf then.

" I didn't tell him. I fixed it myself. Am the future Alpha after all" Sebastian says
Wait! How did he know that's what I was thinking?? Is he reading my mind now?

"No Blair. Am not a mind reader. Your thoughts are just too loud. "

Sweet goddess!
How was that even possible??

" I have no clue either.. just realized I could feel your emotions if they were strong enough when I activated your mind link. " Sebastian explains.

That makes sense.

"You need to learn how to shield your thoughts though. They are all over the place. There's quite a mess in there " he adds softly
Was he trying to say am a mess??

"No Blair.. your not a mess. But that's what am trying to say. Without meaning to, you're pushing your thoughts through the link. Which Is why I can tell what you're thinking. It's like your communicating directly to me. You need to filter your thoughts. And know what goes through and what doesn't. Your mind is interesting by the way!" he says, then chuckles.
Wow! Okay okay...

" How do I do that.?" I question trying to stop my brain from wondering.

" Compartmentalize your thoughts. Like you just did. You didn't mean to but you shut your other thoughts and concentrated on just one. That's how it works. You're a quick learner!" he praises and I can't help but smile.
I could get the hang of this. I say. But to be sure I decide to test it out.

"Bash.." I think in my head
I wait for a reply, comment or anything. Nothing comes through!
I fist bump myself.
I guess am a fast learner after all. I forget my phone and focus on Archer in my mind.
Sebastian was right. Mind linking was way cooler!

"I still can't believe you can now mind link. You have no idea how much I've wanted to say to you without opening my mouth!" Archer gushes. He's seated on my bed leaning against the headboard covered from head to toe.
I laugh. He looked adorable.

"So tell me.. you said it was a level 5 emergency. I had to ditch my bed and come rushing here in this cold. Not my cup of tea by the way. The cold does strange things to my skin. And I need it flawless" he says

" I need your manly advise on how to make the future Alpha like me back." I say in a matter of fact tone.
He gives me a dull look.

" You're mates River, he's supposed to like you. Without you even trying. It's how the bond was designed." he says as he sits straighter.

" Ours seems to be faulty. I need help fixing it. Please." I say desperately.

" You don't have to beg! Makes me feel weird."
A wide smile spreads across my face.

" Okay . Stop smiling now. It's creepy as hell!" he says. And I bust into laughter.

"Okay. First things first. You need to woo him. Forget about everything text book. We are going all out. Off the books. This is a war we need to win. A war to win his heart. To own it. To capture He's soul.  He's not some human your going to buy flowers for, well unless he's into that shit.
So seduction is the key." he says seriously.
The guy was good!!

" You need to make him want you. To crave you. Let him lose himself in you." Archer continues.
"And am supposed to do that how?" I question
" One, look good. Always. Looks matter. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Lucky for you, you already have the looks. No need to try hard.
Two. Always be in his sights. At least let his eyes follow your fabulous self around. Don't go throwing your self at him though. Just be there, in the background. You get my drift.
Three. Don't pay him much attention unless he seeks you out. That way it doesn't look like your chasing him around.
Four. Leave your scent around. One thing I know about mates, they can't resist each other's scent.
Lastly.. flirt. Flirting always gets you the guy. Trust me." he finally says.
It was too much information.. all I could do was nod.

"Now go make that sexy beast of a man fall madly in love with you!"

And that is what I vow to do. Sebastian Decker, here I come. Get ready to be dazzled!
