Sebastian's POV

I take a detour to the pack nursery to see my mom. As usual, she is busy with the children and fellow mothers. I guess the nurturing came with being luna and all. Casper could handle Shane and Elliot. I just needed to check on my mom real quick, it felt like we hadn't seen each other in ages. Then head over to the training grounds.
I walk through the glass doors of the nursery and am immediately swarmed with kids.

Why the glass door anyway? Was it even safe for the little devil's?

The moment the thought crosses my mind, a toddler about 4 or 5 comes racing through the hall and straight into the glass door like he hadn't seen it at all.
The moment his forehead hits the door, the glass shatters and he starts to wail uncontrollably with blood running down his face.

Shit!

I rush over and lift him away from the broken glass. Then shoo the other kids away from the glass. I didn't need more casualties. My mother comes rushing out of the room probably alerted by the commotion and screams of the boy.
She kneels down infront of the boy and tries to pry his little fingers away from the cut..

"Heyy Luca, shhh.. it's okay. I just wanna see the cut." She coos.

He listens to her. And she examines his head. She doesn't look panicked though. Am guessing the wound isn't that bad.

"It's just a little scratch dear.. we gonna go see the nurse and she will fix it. Okay? Here, let's wipe those tears sweetheart." She says, using a handkerchief to gently wipe his face. His wails had already subsided.

Another caretaker rushes over and takes Luca by the hand, am guessing to the nurse.
I turn to my mother who is looking as lovely as ever.

" Am thinking maybe a wooden door.." I say, and she lets out a laugh.

" Trust me son, they would still find a way to injure themselves. Kids always look for trouble. You weren't an exception."

"I don't think I ever run straight into a glass door mom."

"No, but you did other crazy stuff. Almost made me loose my mind." She jokes, and we both burst into laughter definitely remembering all my crazy antics as a kid.

" So why the sudden visit? Not that am complaining."

"I just wanted to see you. We haven't spent time together lately." I say.

"I know sweetie, but right now my hands are full. So why don't we catch up at home. I'll cook dinner, your favorite." She replies, and I smile, already picturing the lasagna that I loved so much.

" It's a date!"

" Okay, see you at home. I need to get this cleaned up." She kisses my cheek and walks away.

I walk through the broken door and head to my car..
Thank goddess I'd driven, the sun was too hot for my liking. I could already feel a sheen of sweat coating my forehead.
Angry emotions flood my entire body and I stop mid stride. They weren't my own, but Blair's.
His anger was so concentrated and I instantly start to worry.

"What's wrong babe? Are you okay? I can feel your anger." I mind link.

No reply.
And I feel him block me out immediately.
Now I was definitely worried. I rush to my car and jump right in before revving out into the main road.
Definitely a good thing I'd decided to drive!

Half way back to the cabin, Nate comes through the mind link.

"You need to come to the boarder. There's been a breach." he says.

Not now!

Something was going on with my mate and now this??
I continue towards the cabin.

"Seb?? Did you hear me?"

"Yes.. I'll be there. I just need to do something."

"This is serious Sebastian. We think it's more than one intruder. Get over here now." he says.

Great! Just great!
I make a split second decision and turn the car back around heading straight for the boarder.

Sweet goddess, I really hope Blair is okay.

I speed down the dirt road through the woods before I realise I don't even know which boarder.

"Which boarder Nate!" I mind link.

"Southern."

I let out an annoyed sigh before turning the car back around again and heading in the opposite direction. This day wasn't turning out so great.
As I head to the southern boarder, my mind drifts back to my mate.
I try the link again but all I get is static.
Why would he block me out??
Was he okay?
All these questions swim around in my head and my worry intensifies.

"It didn't feel like he was in danger. Something must have upset him. We shall get back to him right after checking out the threat. And besides if they were in trouble, I trust zane to handle it. That wolf is vicious." Onyx tries to calm me down.

True!!
Zane was a force to reckon with. They weren't defenseless. I needed to stop worrying and focus on the problem at hand.
A breach on our territory at a time like this was definitely a cause for alarm.
I couldn't help but think that maybe the war was coming to our door step. It was just a matter of when. I only hoped that when it did, we were ready.

It takes me about 30minutes to get to the outskirts of town, where the southern boarder is located. This part of the town was mostly filled with tall grass and nothing more. Just an open field. I park my car and head out through the grass. I spot Nate and a few warriors not very far off.
Nate notices my approach and starts to walk over.

"What are we dealing with?" I ask, the moment we are close enough.

"Martinez and a few others were patrolling these parts when they scented a non pack member. It wasn't a rogue though. Once they moved around, they picked up two other scents. They tried following the scents but they were lost right before you get into town. It's like they just vanished or something."

"So you think they somehow made it into town and are concealing their scents?" I question.

"That's the assumption. Or maybe they turned back around."

Maybe, maybe not.
They could still be on our territory or they could have left.
And if they were, we needed to find them.

" To be safe, we need to conduct a search throughout the community. Pass word around about any strangers that appear suspicious." I tell Nate.
He draws me further away from the warriors and proceeds to whisper in my ear.

Why not just use the mind link?? It's private enough.

" I have reason to believe one of the trespassers is a hunter. I didn't want to mention this to the others. They are more comfortable dealing with wolves than you know... The humans hell Bent on killing us."

The moment the word hunter leaves his mouth, my heart plummels into the ground.
It better not be the case, we weren't ready for goddess sakes!

"Are you sure??" I question.
He's silent for a few seconds.

"Iam sure. We have a hunter on our territory Seb."
My lips pinch into a thin line.

"Then we need to find them! No one is safe Nate."

I really hoped my pack was safe.. especially my mate.
He must have headed to the fighting grounds by now, so he's among warriors. That's a good thing.

"Let's head out! Keep the search on the low for now. No need to cause mass panic " I tell Nate before turning around and walking back to my car. The sun was already low in the sky, and night was slowly approaching.
Night... The time when terrible things happen.

Sweet goddess help us!

I could already feel dread suffocating me.. this day had really taken an unexpected turn. I just hoped it wasn't for the worst.
