Chapter 4.

Sebastian's pov

I left the park with Satin and was currently driving her to her family's cabin at the edge of the community. I was holding her hand in my lap, running my thumb gently on the back of her palm, with the other at the steering wheel.
Satin seemed to be deep in thought, with her head leaning on the window.
"What are you thinking about?" I gently asked as I glanced at her briefly before focussing on the road again.
She turned to me and smiled softly..
"Just thinking about the fact that am almost 18.." she says.
"Do you really think we are mates Seb? I mean most people are able to feel something similar to the pull this close to their birthday. Am just worried that maybe we..."
I cut her off immediately! I didn't want to hear it.
" We have felt the pull for two years. We wouldn't feel this way about each other if we weren't mates satin. I know when you hit the 18th mark, it will be revealed. So don't worry your pretty little head.. ok?" I say to calm her down.
" Okay." She says quietly.
" I love you"
" I love you too" I say with a smile on my face.
We drive in silence when she suddenly perks up like she just remembered something..
" So there's this party that Heather invited me to. Wanna come?" She asks while biting her bottom lip. Sweet goddess I wanted to kiss her!
" Where at?" I asked  instead. Now wasn't the time to get distracted. We were on the road.
" It's in the next town." And before you say anything remember you owe Heather a night out." She says.
Heather is friends with satin and her birthday was a few months back.. I didn't get her a present but instead promised her a night out... What the hell was I thinking?? I should have just bought her the damn present. But that's not why am reluctant. It's the fact that Heather is human and the party is out of town. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against humans, am just weary of them.
I pull into satin's drive way and park my car. I turn to her and simply stare.
" So since you owe her I was thinking maybe you could come with us. Just chill and stuff. Nothing major." She keeps talking till she notices me staring.
" Why are you staring at ?"she softly asks.

"Your eyes.. they're beautiful." I say. Her cheeks turn red and she drops her gaze. She looks back up and raises her left brow..
" Will you come... Pretty please. " She begs. When I don't say anything she continues.
" I'll let you fuck me in the back seat of your car if you do" she adds with the most seductive look she could muster. She knows that's one of my fantasies and she's using it as bait! My eyes turn  black meaning my wolf had come forward. I smirk, then lean forward to capture her lips. It's a simple kiss. Then I pull back, running my hand up her thigh letting it rest close to her core, and her breath hitches.

" It's a date then. I mean the fucking in my car part. But I'll be there." I say.
She licks her lips and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.
" Cool.. so pick me up at 7. " She says. Then she kisses me softly.
"See you tonight babe." She whispers, her lips just a breath away from mine. And all I can do is nod. She jumps out of my car and walks to the front door of the cabin. She turns back briefly just to blow me a kiss and then she enters, the door closing softly behind her. I sit in the drive way for a few minutes to cool off. Didn't want to go home with a boner. When I cool off, I drive away with the stupidest smile on my face.

It's 6pm when I come down the stairs ready for my night out.
" Mom? Dad?".. I call out once I get to the bottom of the stairs.
" In here! " I hear my dad's voice coming from his office. I head straight there. I don't bother knocking but just walk in.
" You look nice! Who's the lucky girl?" My mom teases. She's seated on the couch knitting a sweater.
I simply roll my eyes At her with a smile. Then I address my dad.
"Hey dad am going to this party with satin and Heather so I'll probably get home a little late." I say
He lifts his gaze from the papers sprawled across his desk.
He eyes me for a few seconds before he grunts.
" Are any of the boys going with you?" He asks.

" No dad. Just me and the girls." I say. My dad makes me nervous. I feel like a specimen under a magnifying glass with the way he's looking at me. I gulp when he doesn't say anything.
My mom then intervenes.
" Donovan, please don't torture our son with the 3rd degree." Then she turns to me and continues.

"Just be careful. Stay alert and safe. Bye, love you. Now get out of here." She says. I don't wait to be told twice. I turn on my heel and practically run out of the office.
I drive to satin's cabin and she's already waiting out for me. Wow!  I must be pretty late if she's already out.  She walks over to the car and I rush over to open the door for her. Once she's seated, I shut the door and rush back to the driver's side. Once am in, I take a few minutes to look at her.. she's wearing a soft blue dress that hugs her curves perfectly. It's mid thigh length only adding to it's sexiness.
" You look beautiful!" I say . And she flashes me a cute little smile before her beautifully made up face turns serious..
"Your late! " She exclaims throwing her arms in the air.

" Don't worry babe, I'll get us there in time." I smirk.
With that said, I speed out of the drive way and drive off into the night.

I had been at the party for the last 4hours and I must say I was bored out of my mind.. I should have dragged casper here with me. The moment we walked into the house, Heather's make up streaked face dragged satin away. She gave me an apologetic smile before she disappeared into the crowd of people grinding onto each other. I decided to get myself a drink. It's now been four hours and in that time I had seen satin twice. Once when she came to ask how I was doing and the second time, we danced for a while before Heather stole her away again. I was nursing my 3rd drink when my phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out to see I had a series of texts from our group chat

Casper: yo doggies! Seb is out partying the night away and we weren't even invited! Here I was thinking we were friends.

Shane: call me doggy one more time and partying isn't the only thing you will be worried about.

Casper: 😢 shane don't be mean!

Greg: whom are you calling doggie you idiot!

Elliot: doggie my ass! It's good u were left behind. How dare u insult ur kind. Shame on you!

Nate: that's it! Am getting new friends. Can't deal with this shit

Me: wooh! Guys come down. And really casper. Doggie??? That's just nasty

I laughed as I read through the texts. These guys were hilarious.
I then realised that my battery was down to 1%. I needed my phone on so I decided to go charge it in my car, then come back and hunt down my girlfriend. I walked out of the house and welcomed the fresh air that hit my face. I walked out to the drive way that was filled with cars. As I made it to my car, there was a loud explosion that rang through the night. And it's force threw me to the ground. Slowly, I picked myself off the ground trying to figure out what happened. My head was throbbing and my ears were ringing... That's when I smelt it.. smoke! Oh no no no no. Goddess no..
I slowly turned towards the house and I gasped.
The entire building was on fire! Red flames bellowed into the sky. The sound of breaking windows piercing the still night. It was a disaster.. I stood rooted to the spot, tears streaming down my face. I was in shock. The feel of someone trying to grab my arm is what snapped me back to the present..
Satin!...
I had to save her. How could I be so stupid, standing there doing nothing when she's inside that burning house. I wrenched my arm out of the person's grip and sprinted towards the raging inferno..

"Heyy! You need to stay back it's not safe!" I heard the person yell. I couldn't stop. I had to get to her. I had to save her. And just like that, I was running straight into the burning flames.
