Zane's pov.

Who did this she wolf think she was?? The fact that she'd once ridden my mates dick was clearly getting to her head.
Imagine the audacity!! Calling me a worm!
I was already annoyed by the Alpha's blatant dismissal of my humans suggestions and this leach was fueling my anger.

"Don't think I never noticed you trying to seduce him from afar, always lingering around him. You're a fake! A cock sucking bitch who had to wait for a mate bond to be wanted! While I did that perfectly without a bond whatsoever. Sebastian wanted me without being coersed by some stupid bond.. get that into your head!"

I could feel Blair's anger and embarrassment. Ashamed even. Why was he embarrassed? The last time I checked, it wasn't a crime to check out some one.
I couldn't stand the feelings he was projecting.
This was it! This she wolf was wicked! Pure evil.. I bet she's got poison running in her veins.
I wanted to so badly sink my non existent claws in her chest and rip that stone she called a heart out. But I would have to settle with a good mouth lashing.
With that, I pushed my way forward effectively possessing my human. He doesn't even try to stop me. If he couldn't defend himself and stake his claim, I would.
I slowly get to my feet. Sebastian tries to block my advance but I gently push him aside. I didn't need him to fight this battle for me. I was very capable.
I stalk towards the disgusting she wolf and she takes a frightened step back. I back her up till she ceases her escape. Too terrified to move.
That's right you mate thief!. you better be scared.

"Disrespect me like that again she wolf, and I will show you who's in charge. I am Alpha Mate, not you. I've tolerated your insolence enough. You had your time with him, good for you. But now it's over. It's done. Talk to me like that again, and I will shut your mouth for you. Or better yet, I will peel that skin off your bony frame and feed it to the dogs!.. So I suggest you heed my warning. I will not be so nice next time." I growl out. And I meant every word.
She would face my wrath the next time.

I watch as she visibly pales and I smile in satisfaction.
My mate plucks her out of my way and shoves her towards his beta who reluctantly holds her shaking body.

I really hoped I'd scared some sense into her.
That's when the arrogant Alpha decides to speak. He steps away from behind his desk and slowly walks towards me looking all intimidating and shit. Like I gave a Fuck!

" What are you?" he growls out, his eyes flashing gold.

I guess this is how he was going to find out about me.
I was glad to be doing the honors of introducing myself. I turn to him and my glowing eyes meet his gold. Stare for stare. I wasn't going to cower in his presence. He didn't like my blatant challenge and started to release his Alpha pheromones.
He was trying to make me submit but I wasn't backing down. His body was radiating with power, you could actually taste it in the air. It was that strong, but surprisingly it had no effect on me. I didn't even flinch.
He doubled the effort but I didn't break a sweat.
The she wolf even dropped to her knees in submission under his show of dominance.
The scholar and his offspring bowed their heads. The beta simply dropped his gaze, but I could see the strain he was under.
My mate held his own. He was Alpha too.

" You need to cut it out.. you're torturing your subjects with this show is dominance." I plainly state.
He growls so loud the windows actually shake, the she wolf whimpers on the ground.

" KNOW YOUR PLACE WOLF! I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU'RE HERE BUT I AM ALPHA! DON'T MAKE ME FORCE YOU INTO SUBMISSION." he growls so deeply and fiercely. If I were any other wolf, I would have dropped down in fear.
My mate looks worried now, he probably thinks I can't hold my own when it comes to his dad.

"You are NOT my Alpha. He is." I boldly state, eyes flicking to my mate.
The Alpha almost shifts the moment the words leave my mouth but he fights the transformation.
Truth be told, my mate was the only one in this room whom I would ever submit to. I didn't feel compelled to submit to his father. And that only meant one thing..
We were equally matched in power.
I don't know how, but we were. It must be the prophecy.
Everyone in the room is taken back by my response.

" Sebastian! Tell your mate to stand down." The Alpha orders, eyes a burning gold. His wolf wanted blood.

My mate appears in my line of vision, blocking my view of his father.
He gently takes my hand and I almost whimper.. his touch was divine. It felt cool on my skin. I instantly wanted more.

" Hey.. calm down. Satin is nolonger a threat okay? You made sure of that. My dad isn't a threat to you either." he lifts his free hand to my face and gently caresses my cheek. I lean into his touch, the warmth from his finger tips causing butterflies to flutter in my stomach. Or is it fireflies? Wasn't sure.

" It's okay Zane. You need to let River through now." he adds.
My eyes widen at that. I had totally forgotten about that! He was going to pass out after this. I'd spent plenty time in control!
What was I thinking. My human wasn't strong enough!
I should check though.

" River?" I call out in my head.
His reply is instant.

" You just made my fucking day!! I just hope you don't get us killed though. Fuck! You're amazing!!"

I smile at his praise. He was okay. But it was time to go.
I focus on my mate, then lean in and kiss him, savouring the taste of his glorious lips. He kisses back immediately and I fade back into the background with a contended sigh.
