Sebastian Decker.

This was really a bad idea. I wasn't feeling this entire operation one bit. I could've been back home in StreamVille with my mate. Doing all the things I promised to do to him. I almost did by the way...I got carried away back at the stream.
Unfortunately am stuck here, ready to charge into battle with a half baked plan.

"The coast is clear.. I've checked the perimeter." Nate says through the mind link.
My dad wasn't serious! How could he send both his children into a fight that will most likely involve many casualties! What if we both perish??

Goddess forbid!

I was currently hiding behind a few trees, with casper and a few of other warriors. The so called packs we had allied with for this were nowhere in sight! Had they even come?? I decide to check.

" Nate? Is the backup here?"

"Not yet. I don't know what's taking them so long." he whispers.
Why was he whispering in the mind link?

"The guards are changing shifts, we need to move in now!" he says

" We need to wait for backup ... We don't know what awaits us in there. And our numbers are small." I argue

" We need to do it now! The window is closing Sebastian"

To be honest, I was doubting this whole operation. We weren't even ready!

"Am going in!" Nate affirms.

Shit!
I couldn't let him go in there alone!
I turn to Casper and give him a nod.
The attack was on.
He relies the message through the link.
We start to strip off our clothes, and a series of bone cracking sounds follow.
I feel my entire bone structure transform, my back elongates, my hands and feet turn to paws and my nose into a snout. Once the transformation is complete, I feel the wind run through my reddish brown fur. And my senses heighten.
My wolf is bigger than all of the ones here.. even my brother's. That's because am an Alpha wolf.
Both my height and size were intimidating.
I eye the establishment we were about to attack and try to listen one more time for any sounds.. I don't hear anything.

Well here goes nothing! I say to myself before I charge, my paws hitting the ground hard. The rest of the warriors follow right behind me.

It is a mistake.

The moment we break through the trees and enter into the open, arrows begin to hit us from all directions. Our wolves begin to fall left and right, smoke coming from their bodies.
Wolfsbane! The arrows were laced in wolfsbane.
This wasn't good..
Am momentarily stunned when there's a loud explosion and my body is lifted off the ground into the air. I hit the ground hard when I land and I whine. I slowly get to my feet and assess the damage..

It was a mess. An absolute mess.

Many of my pack members were either lying lifeless or injured.
That's when I officially begin to panic.
I knew we shouldn't have taken on this mission!
I knew it!

I should have followed my gut.
I start to frantically look around in search of casper in all the carnage.
What was really putting me on edge was the fact that I had no clue where the attack was coming from.
My wolf crouches low to the ground and as I decide to use my nose to get to casper.
When I locate his scent, I follow it and find him hiding behind a little bush. I rush over to him, relief washing over me.
He buries his head in my fur and I do the same.

" Am so glad you're okay.. I was worried." he links me.

"Me too. I told you this was a bad idea. We were led into an ambush. I don't know by whom, or even why. But am not leaving this place till I find out." I reply.
