Sebastian's POV.

The moment the words leave his lips, the image dissipates. I scramble to my feet and try to lunge for him but all I grab is air. He just vanished.. and the mist clears as fast as it appeared.
I look around frantically like he would somehow reappear again.
Mom and Nate both look at me like am crazy.

"Did any of you see that?" I ask, still looking around.

"See what Seb?" Nate asks, getting to his feet and looking around as well.
I stand around confused till his message registers in my brain.

Shit!

The stream.. he said to find him at the stream!!

"I need to go to the stream! He said to go to the stream" I say frantically, already stripping my clothes off. Shifting would get me there much faster.

"Seb what are saying?? What is going on?" My mom tries to grab onto me to get my attention.

"Brother you need to come down. You're not making any sense. Who said to go to the stream?" Nate inquires.

"Blair was here. He said to go to the stream." Is all I say before shifting and jumping through the office window, shattering glass in my haste.. I had already wasted enough time.

I sprint across the yard and hit the woods, ignoring the pain that is wrecking my entire body. There is a sharp pain in my side but I block out the sting. A piece of glass must have gotten me as I broke through the window.
I race through the woods like a crazed wolf with one goal in mind. The stream.
My mate was at the stream!
The second My wolf breaks into the little clearing, I smell him. Him and... Blood!
And my heart plummels to the ground.
The smell of my mate's blood infuriates onyx and he pushes his way forward gaining control. He follows the smell and the sight that greets us makes me want to cry. This strong emotion forces the shift back to my human form.
What lays before my eyes breaks me.. I had tried to be strong after seeing my father dead but this just makes me snap.
I break into a sob. There was only so much I could take. So much I could handle.
The patch of grass is drenched in his blood. I run my hand through it and it comes back sticky with the thick liquid.
I drop both my hands onto the ground and grit my teeth, trying so hard to numb the pain in my heart.
Am in so much pain I start to choke on my sobs. The words Nate said start to ring in my mind..
He couldn't be dead.. the moon goddess wouldn't be that cruel. I know I wasn't the best mate in the beginning but I had tried to make up for it. I had vowed to spend the rest of my life making it up to him.
She wouldn't rip him away from me just like that.
As l stare at my blood soaked hands, I feel enraged. I was mad, angry, impassioned.
I couldn't comprehend how I'd gone from being happily mated, to losing my father and finally losing my mate in a short time.

I feel the transformation even before it happens.. my body starts to enlarge, and I feel myself tripple in size. Fur sprouts all over my bare skin.

I was turning Huxembeast.

Right at the same time, the pendant that is miraculously still intact around my neck starts to glow again. I slowly rise from my squatting position onto my feet. I look around me, expecting another vision but there's nothing. My new form makes it easier for me to scan my surroundings. I was vulnerable out here. No one else knew about my Huxembeast except my mate. My beast's eyes focus on the stream. They are somehow drawn to the water. I take large purposeful steps towards it. The closer I get, the brighter the glow of the pendant.

"Enter the stream." Onyx says, his voice much deeper now.

When my feet hit the water, a bright glow is cast over a spot down the stream. My pendant starts to singe the fur around it.
Something was calling out to me. The bright glow in the water looked the exact same as the one my pendant was emitting.

That's when realisation hits.

The glow in the water was from his pendant!!
My mate was in the water!

I don't waste another second and immediately dive into the icy waters. This form making me agile and fast. I swim down stream, the bright glow acting as my guide.

Then I see him, and my heart breaks further.

My mate is lying at the very bottom of the stream looking lifeless. I increase my pace, and when I get to him, I scoop him up in my large hands and head back up.
When I break surface, I see Casper standing at the edge of the stream, looking around desperately with frantic eyes.
I tense. This wasn't how I wanted him to find out about my Huxembeast but I could are less now. I tread through the water, my mate safely in my arms.
Casper's head snaps in my direction and he runs over to me.
His reaction surprises me. I expected him to run away from me and not to me.
He reaches me just at the same time I step onto dry land.
He doesn't spare me a single look but just strips out of his jacket and lays it on the ground.

"Place him down here Seb. Let's see if I can revive him. I don't know how long he's been under but I'll do my best." he assures me.

It's like the fact that am Huxembeast doesn't faze him!
I quickly lay my mate down on his jacket and Casper proceeds to check for a heartbeat. Then a pulse. He places two fingers on the side of Blair's neck then looks up at me, his face expressionless.

"What?" I mind link. Not liking his look at all.

"I can't feel a pulse." he says, then quickly tears Blair's shirt open exposing his bruised pale chest.

My heart constricts painfully at that.

The sight of his mutilated body fuels my rage and a ferocious growl escapes me.
Casper draws his hands away from my mate and raises them.

"I just want to try CPR. That's all." he says, his voice calm.

I give him a nod.
He places his hands flat on my mate's chest and presses once, twice, thrice before doing the mouth to mouth. I watch my mate's chest for any sign of a heartbeat. I train my ears to try and catch the faintest sound.
Casper repeats the action two more times and with each passing second, my hope depreciates.

It didn't look good..

My mate was as pale as a ghost, his lips blue. And I couldn't detect any heartbeat.
My panic starts to rise the more Casper repeats the CPR. The more I panic, the more my blood boils with anger.
If my mate didn't make it, I would kill each and every fucking hunter on this planet before I killed myself!
Everything that had happened had "hunter" written all over it. This was their doing. I don't know how they got into the pack but one thing was clear as day... The war was on! And I didn't plan on losing.
Not when it had cost my father his life, and my mate was... I couldn't finish that thought.

Thump..

Thump..

Thump..

The faint sound hits my ears and relief washes over me like a tidal wave.
It was a heart beat!
Casper looks up to me and I see the relief in him.

"He's breathing but not stable. We need to take him to the Infirmary now." he says quickly..
I jump into action, ready to carry my mate back into town when he stops me.

"You might want to change back. You're not exactly looking sociable. If that's even the word.." he mutters the last part to himself but I still catch it.

Oh yeah! I was still Huxembeast.
I stand back and crouch down then start the transformation to my wolf. Casper doesn't even bat an eye.

"I don't have clothes. Caryy him back and I will follow. Be quick!" I mind link him when am done.

He lifts my mate into his arms and runs into the woods, my wolf following right behind him.
