Chapter 38

Monday: time skip (one week)
Lexie's pov
So we've been back in LA for a week now and let me just catch you up on these past few days first Jaden and josh went public on social media and the fan response was insane, so many people were happy for them and congratulated them and were happy that the josh and Jaden ship finally sailed. With that being said though now that Jaden is back in LA he's back in the studio and the first song Travis wanted him to start recording was with Nessa so she's been around the house and along with Nessa comes Mads because they are "best friends" it was awkward for the few days to be honest, but I try to keep my distance from them and only intervene if Nessa starts to pathetically flirt with josh and Mads flirts with Jaden like they have clearly moved on but whatever. What else is new? Oh Quinton has started going to the studio with Jaden too, I am not entirely sure what he does there since I have never heard him sing but I am guessing Jaden is just trying to show him the ropes. Rafy is back to teaching me which is well you know... how that goes I get frustrated and eventually accept the fact that I am just dumb. The boys are taking me to therapy twice a week and then make time to force me into being a little, let me just make one thing clear when I admitted that I liked it, it was simply a moment of weakness I still despise it but I enjoy giving them a hard time even if it does get me into trouble sometimes. Oh and now that we are home the boys have literally forbidden me from working our because I am "still underweight" and can't afford to lose anymore so yeah that's pretty much how the week has gone so far but I have to go now because Rafy is here to do school with me... help.

Griffin: Lexie if i have to call you downstairs one more time!
Lexie: would you chill the fuck out I am here (walks downstairs and Anthony gently smacks her in the back of the head) oww (whines)

Lexie: ugh whatever (sits on the counter)
Griffin: since your back at school it's time to take your pill and it might feel a little weird or might not work because you've been off it for two weeks
Lexie: okay... do I have to swallow it?
Griffin: yeah unless your going to make me crush it again
Lexie: no... I'll swallow it
Griffin: okay here you go (opens the bottle and hands it to her)
Lexie: are you just going to stand there?
Griffin: yeah I need to know you took it
Lexie: fine
Lexie's pov
I grabbed the round pill and put it on my tongue and automatically my gag instincts kicked in and I grabbed a napkin and spit it out just as Noah and Blake were coming down the stairs.

Noah: oh come on lex don't tell me you still can't swallow the damn thing
Lexie: I tried and failed (looks at griffin) crush it please
Griffin: (sighs) I am just gonna do that from now on (walks over to the fridge and gets a cup of yogurt and a spoon then crushes the pill and puts the powder on the spoon and hands it to her)
Lexie: (grabs the spoon and gags at the consistency of the yogurt but eventually swallows it) that's still gross
Griffin: finish the yogurt and then have a banana before Rafy gets here, Noah or Blake can you stay here and makes sure she eats it?
Blake: yeah we were going to make the protein shakes anyway
Griffin: okay (walks out of the kitchen)
Lexie: (whines) I don't want it, it's gross
Blake: what happened to "I won't fight you guys about food anymore"
Lexie: I thought about it and came to the conclusion that I take it back, I don't want the yogurt (pushes it away from her)
Noah: Lexie I am not about to argue with you over a yogurt cup now eat it
Lexie: no (crosses her arms)
Blake: now or I feed it to you (puts the protein in the blender)
Lexie: but Blake (whines)
Blake: stop whining and put the spoon in your mouth
Lexie: okay (grabs the spoon and puts it in her mouth)
Noah: you know what he meant stop playing around
Lexie: he said put the spoon in your mouth so I did
(Griffin walks back in with Rafy and Micheal)
Michael: hey Lexie
Lexie: hi (waves)
Rafy: hey girly you ready to get started?
Lexie: for once yes (gets off her chair)
Noah: na uh sit back down and eat your yogurt or am I gonna have to tell Jaden he's gonna have to tell Callie you aren't eating
Lexie: you wouldn't dare (glares at him)
Noah: finish it then
Lexie: fine
Lexie's pov
I grabbed the spoon and put the yogurt in my mouth and kept doing it until I was done with it and was about to stand up from my chair when Blake handed me the banana and I glared at him but eventually I gave up and took it with me. I followed Rafy to the dining room table and she started her lessons while I just ate the banana and tried my best to pay attention.

Travis: okay so before Nessa comes into the studio let's talk more about the album have you decided on a name for it?
Jaden: yeah I was debating on mercy is medicine or tell me about tomorrow but I like tell me about tomorrow better because it's has a sarcastic meaning to it you know
Travis: yeah and what about the cover?
Jaden: I have this old baby photo on my phone (hands Travis the phone to see the picture)
Travis: okay so what your going for is almost an ironic statement
Jaden: exactly what do you think?
Travis: I like it, I think it's different but that's who you are as an artist so it works
Jaden: okay perfect anything else?
Travis: oh yeah your going on jimmy kümmel and performing a song with Colson
Jaden: wait what!? Seriously when were you going to tell me that!? When!!
Travis: (laughs) I wanted it to be a surprise and I don't have the exact date just yet so I'll keep you posted on that
Jaden: okay awesome
Travis: how has recording the song with Nessa been?
Jaden: it's been okay I mean the first few days were super awkward but we are just recording the intro today right? Because that's all we have
Travis: yeah
Jaden: okay
(Then there's a knock on the door and Travis opens the door for Nessa)
Nessa: hey guys
Them: hey
Jaden: so are you ready to start recording?
Nessa: yeah
Travis: alright get in the booth you two

Lexie's pov
Eventually I finished my banana and Rafy kept on explaining whatever subject we were on right now I don't even know so I guess I haven't actually been paying attention. Ugh I think it's something that has to do with the United States and government and their branches or whatever. I pretended like I was listening but In reality I was just playing with my pencil and twirling it around until I got a piece of paper and started doodling a flower on it.

Lexie: I no no I draw pretty flower!

(Rafy walks out of the dining room to see josh, Bryce and Addison sitting on the purple couch filming)
Josh&bryce: AYOOO WHAT'S UP EVERYBODY AND WELCOME BACK FO TEATOK AHHH!!!
Addison: why didn't y'all tell me you were doing that
Josh: that's the intro every single time
Bryce: you don't watch the videos
Addison: I don't like to see drama
Rafy: hey guys I am sorry I know your filming but griffin is in a conference call, Blake and Noah are working out and I can't find ant and Kio
Bryce: that's okay j rod cut the cameras real quick
J rod: okay (turns the camera off)
Josh: what's up?
Rafy: Lexie went slipped into little space while I was teaching and I don't know how to get her out of it
Bryce: she just slipped randomly?
Rafy: yeah my guess is she just got bored and she went into little space
Josh: okay let's go try and get her out of it
Rafy: okay
(Josh and Rafy walk over to the dining room table to see that Lexie had now colored the table with markers)
Lexie: look Joshy I made a painting!!!
Josh: (face palms) baby what have we told you before? What are you supposed to color on?
Lexie: paper...
josh: right so why did you color on the table using marker?
Lexie: I no no (shrugs her shoulders) I no find paper
Josh: okay well I am gonna have to put you in time out because you know better
Lexie: no Joshy I sorry
Josh: I know you are bud but go in the corner for five minutes okay?
Lexie: no
Josh: don't tell me no
Lexie: no I no want time out!!
Josh: Lexie Marie get in the corner right now
(Lexie puts her hands on her hips and sticks her tongue out)
Rafy: I see little Lexie has a bit of an attitude too
Josh: you have no idea (walks over to Lexie and picks her up and puts her in the corner) your going to stay here for five minutes
Lexie: fine (crosses her arms)
Josh: and lose the attitude (looks at Rafy) I am sorry, We didn't think she would slip into little space and I know it's been like three weeks probably since you've done any real work with her
Rafy: it's okay I mean I'll admit it's definitely an unusual circumstance but then again my whole job is an usual circumstance so I am okay with it
Josh: (laughs) and that is why you manage the sway house
Lexie's pov
I looked over at Joshy who was talking to Rafy and then I looked around to see no one was in the hallway and I didn't want to be in timeout anymore instead I want to play with buddy! I looked back at Joshy to see him still talking so I quietly left the corner and walked upstairs and found buddy In my room sleeping on his bed but since I wanted to play I grabbed one of his chew toys and started squeaking it and he woke up and we started playing tug of war with it until I just gave it to him. I played with buddy for a few minutes until I looked outside my window and saw the pool! Hey buddy you want to go in the pool? Buddy just barked so I took that as a yes and walked into my closet and found a one piece bathing suit that I can just slip on and then I picked buddy up in my arms and went down the stairs and the halls were empty so I quickly went outside and put my feet in the pool and splashed buddy and laughed.

Josh's pov
I talked with Rafy for about five minutes before she left with Michael to lunch and talk to some business people and I went back to the living room to take Lexie out of timeout but she wasn't where I left her.

Josh: Lexie where are you! (Walks upstairs to check her room but wasn't there so he checks his and Jaden's room and she still wasn't there, next he checks Kio's room who is streaming on twitch)
Kio: what's up?
Josh: have you seen Lexie, I put her in timeout and now I can't find her
Kio: timeout? Wasn't she supposed to have class with Rafy?
Josh: yeah but then she slipped into little space
Kio: oh I haven't seen her but maybe she's with Anthony
Josh: good idea (walks out of kio's room and to Anthony and knocks)
Ant: hold on I am making a TikTok
Josh: it's quick is lex with you?
Ant: no isn't she with Rafy?
Josh: no I am gonna go ask Blake and Noah
Ant: okay
Josh's pov
I walked back downstairs towards the backyard when I saw Lexie in the pool with buddy and sighed of relief but then got upset and walked over to her.

Josh: Lexie Marie what are you doing!
Lexie: playing with buddy (splashes in the water)
Josh: hmm didn't I put you in timeout?
Lexie: I bored in time out
Josh: it doesn't matter I put you in timeout for a reason and your supposed to wait for me to get you out now come out of the pool
Lexie: no (splashes josh with the water)
Josh: Lexie this is your second warning get out of the pool
Lexie's pov
I looked over at Joshy who was getting closer to me and I knew he was going to put me back in timeout which I didn't want so I splashed him with more water and started swimming to the other side of the pool instead and when I got out I started running across the backyard with Joshy chasing me.

Lexie: no time out
(Lexie keeps running until she gets by Blake, Noah and Bryce who see josh chasing her and he's wet)
Bryce: (laughs) what happened to you?
Josh: don't ask just help me catch her she's actually fast when she wants to be (panting)
Addison: don't tell me she killed your energy by only running for five minutes, aren't you supposed to be an athlete?
Josh: I am still an athlete but i'll admit I have been slacking
Lexie's pov
They got distracted with talking so I ran inside the house even though I was wet still and I kept running until I ran into someone and looked up to see bubba! Oh and nessa...

Jaden: hey baby (says confused) what are you doing? Where's Rafy?
Lexie: she left with Micheal
Jaden: oh okay and where's Joshy?
(Just then josh walks into the house wet from water and sweat)
Josh: oh thank god you caught her
Jaden: what the hell happened and why are you wet (laughs)
Josh: little Lexie's a demon child that's why (jokes)
Jaden: (looks at Lexie) what did you do?
Lexie: nothing...
Jaden: hmm then why was Joshy chasing you?
Lexie: we were playing tag!
Josh: that is not true little missy and you still need to go in timeout (picks her up from Jaden and places her back in the corner)
Lexie: Joshy no!
Josh: Lexie Marie that's enough or do you want a spanking
Lexie: no Joshy
Josh: okay then your going to sit here for ten minutes and come out when I come get you understand?
Lexie: okay
Josh: good
(Josh walks over to Jaden and pecks him on the lips while he and Nessa are sitting on the couch)
Nessa: I still can't get over the fact that she slips into a little space like I have read some stuff on it but I don't know much about it
Josh: sometimes she just slips naturally which is what happened today or we literally have to fight her to go into little space
Nessa: oh okay
Josh: how did it go at the studio?
Jaden: good we only got the intro but we are gonna keep working on it now
Josh: okay no worries, Ness do you want to stay long enough to have lunch with us?
Nessa: sure is it cool if I invite Mads?
Jaden: I guess... I am gonna use the bathroom I'll be right back (gets off the couch)
Lexie's pov
I don't know how long I was standing in the stupid corner for but eventually I found myself out of little space and saw Jaden get up from the couch so I turned around to see Nessa trying to sit on Josh's lap and he was politely pushing her away. It was sad but I feel like I should say something.

(Lexie gets out of her spot and starts walking over to them and lex looks at josh)

Josh: you get ten minutes (hands him her phone)

As soon as I logged into my account I scrolled through my feed and posted a few of the pics we took in Miami and then I got a notification that Naomi was going live and I was just gonna ignore it but then it said she was going to go live with Cynthia and I just got this sick feeling in my stomach as I clicked on it.

Naomi: okay so long story short Lexie hossler is a big fake bitch we were friends with her back in and now that she's living in LA with the sway boys she chose to drop us so and then I meant Cynthia and together we decided why not give you guys all the tea on what kind of person she really is when we first met Lexie she was well how do I put this pathetic, she had no friends and she was being bullied by these people Katherine and her group of friends and when we found her she was crying in the bathroom slitting her wrist and well my friends and I felt bad for her so we took her in and turned her into a baddie and what does she do? Drops us for the brother that left her all alone

I was looking at all the comments that were going through the live and felt sick to my stomach I dropped Josh's phone and ran to the bathroom and threw up until I felt someone pull my hair back and when I was done I just sat down clutching my stomach trying to breathe.

Cynthia: yeah so get this while we were down in Miami apparently Lexie turns into a little like you know those people who are in ddlg relationships except it's for therapy purposes only, and she made Quinton and I break up so you can blame her for us not being together

(Lexie starts hyperventilating)
Lexie: I am never going out in public again, I can't, I am gonna be made fun of for the rest of my life, now everyone is going to know me as the crazy girl with a shit ton of issues, I am never going to show my face ever again, just let me disappear (cries)

I went to the backyard and just screamed and wished that I had weed with me, I need an escape yes that's exactly what I need. I pulled out my phone and texted Dylan.

I put my phone in my pocket and I was still raging so I went over to the punching bag that the boys have set up and started punching it but it wasn't helping I wasn't releasing any of my anger so I looked around for something that I could break and I found an empty beer bottle and picked it up and smashed it against the wall and some of the glass went flying and cut me in the hand.

(Bryce ran out of the house after hearing Lexie scream with the boys following after him)
Bryce: what happened?
Lexie: I cut my fucking hand throwing the beer bottle
Bryce: let me see (takes her hand and looks at it) griffin your gonna have to clean it and see if she's going to need stitches
Lexie: I am fine
Bryce: no your not fine you just pretty much just had your whole life exposed and cut your hand you are not fine
Lexie: your right Bryce I am not fine! I haven't been fine for a long time because guess what no matter how hard I try to fix myself, no matter how hard I try and be good or change for the better something always happens to take me ten steps back!! I am broken and I have accepted it and you should too!!
Griffin: (sighs) Lexie your not broken
Lexie: yes I am! Nothing about me is normal griffin!! I am a broken fifteen year old face it! 
Griffin: okay Lexie I need you to listen to me and calm down okay just breathe and I promise you everything's gonna be okay we are gonna figure this out

Josh: this entire time that lex has been living with us there have been so many people exposing her and telling her story which isn't fair so I think we should give Lex a chance to use her voice and tell her own story at least everything that has been made public by having her come on the podcast with me tomorrow
Jaden: I don't know josh... I don't need Dave saying some stupid shit
Josh: I won't let him I know I did a shitty job at defending Bryce but Lexie's our kid I won't let him say anything rude to her

(Josh and Jaden walk back inside to see griffin finished cleaning her cut and has a bandaid on it)
Josh: so we think we figured out a solution but only if your comfortable with it

Josh: what if you come on the podcast with me and give your side of the story, you say you don't want us fighting your battles for you and you are allowed to have a voice in this situation but it's up to you
Lexie: can Jaden come with us?
Jaden: if you want me to be there yeah
Lexie: what if I have an anxiety attack while I am talking?
Josh: then we cut the cameras and not post it remember it's not recorded live so even if you do have an anxiety attack no one would know
Lexie: okay... then sure
Josh: yeah?
Lexie: yeah (nods her head)
Josh: okay I'll go ahead and text Dave (walks out of the bathroom)
Addison: are sure lex?
Lexie: (sighs) yeah it finally time for me to stop hiding and give my side of the story
Addison: I am proud of you honey (hugs her)
Blake: great now that sentimental moment is over can we have dinner because I am starving
Lexie: I am not hungry can I just go to bed early
Noah: no
Lexie: Noah please...
Noah: no your not skipping dinner I get that the situation sucks but you can't let your emotions stop you from taking care of yourself

Blake: come on little one let's go (picks her up and carries her to the kitchen)
Anthony: what do you want to eat (opens the cabinets)

Lexie's pov
Anthony made pasta and I ate half of it before claiming that I was full and he sighed but let me go anyway and I laid on the couch and turned the tv on and scrolled through the channels but I didn't find anything and I just kind of laid there feeling numb to my emotions until my phone vibrated.

(Lexie walks back into the house and starts walking to her room but bumps into Quinton and drops the weed)

(Quinton walks away and Jaden looks at Lexie)

Jaden: no I understand why you would want to but that doesn't make it right, and you know it's not the solution

Jaden: just let me take care of you okay? (Picks her up and carries her to the living room)

(Jaden texts josh and then Kio walks into the living room)
Kio: how about we build a fort and all sleep out here tonight?
Lexie: okay (smiles)

Lexie: come here girl (pats the couch and buddy jumps on it and starts licking her) haha good girl
Griffin: hey lex we just want you to know something

Griffin: you know that no matter what rumors or what anyone says it doesn't matter what matters is what you know deep down and you have your family
Noah: that's us and that's what's important okay?

Lexie: where did Mads and Nessa go?
Josh: they left after the live we told them to come back another time
Lexie: oh okay... so the fort?

Lexie's pov
That night we built the fort and watched movies and what started off as probably the worst day of my life turned into something pretty okay. I think tomorrow when I go on the podcast I am just gonna let it all out no more secrets, no more hiding I am gonna try my best to just move forward from everything... but then again everything's easier said then done so we'll see how that goes. I cuddled up to Jaden and closed my eyes and fell asleep.
