Chapter 36

Wednesday (1 day be4 New Years)
Josh's pov
I woke up with lex still in my arms and Jaden with his arms wrapped around my waist and kissed the top of his head and his eyes opened just as my lips had touched his skin and he smiled up at me.

Jaden: good morning babe
Josh: morning cutie
Jaden: what do you think we should do today?
Josh: we could go to the art district and take some pics for insta it would be cool to get some type of content while we are here
Jaden: good idea and maybe we can go public but only if you want too
Josh: I mean I am ready if you are
Jaden: okay I'll wake up griff and Kio while you wake up lex
Josh: are we gonna put her in little space today?
Jaden: yeah but not for the whole day, we can do it when we get back to the hotel later
Josh: okay
(Jaden gets off the bed and walks over to griffin and Kio while josh lightly shakes Lexie)
Lexie: hmm what?
Josh: time to get up we are gonna be busy today and you need to start getting ready
Lexie: ugh okay I am gonna go shower
Josh: okay
Lexie's pov
I got off the bed and grabbed the clothes I was going to wear today and walked into the bathroom. I took off my pajamas and turned the heating temperature all the way up and nearly screamed when my skin contacted with the hot water but I reminded myself that it was better than taking a razor blade to my wrist. I washed myself and noticed that because the temperature was hot and I scrubbed myself with the soap my skin started to look a little irritated but I ignored it and washed my hair and twenty minutes later I got out and decided to braid my hair. Then I put on a white lace trim tube top with these black high waisted shorts that had a couple chains on the side with my white high top converse, then I put on a little makeup and walked outside because if I started staring at myself in the mirror I would point out everything that was wrong with me. When I walked out of the bathroom Kio and griffin were awake and dressed along with Jaden and josh.

Kio: is there actually steam coming out of the bathroom right now?
Lexie: hm yeah I guess
(Griffin walks into the bathroom)
Griffin: geez lex it's like a literal sauna in there
Lexie: what can I say? The water relaxes me
Josh: (looks at her) and is apparently burning your skin you need to cool it off a bit
Lexie: yeah yeah anyways are we ready to go?
Jaden: yeah we are gonna meet the boys down at the buffet
Lexie: okay let's go then
(They walk out of the hotel room and get in the elevator and start heading to the buffet area where Anthony and Avani got a table already)
Josh: morning guys
Avani: morning (smiles) how did you guys sleep?
Jaden: how about you?
Anthony: there wasn't much sleeping (jokes and Avani smack him behind the head) owww
Avani: don't talk about our sex life in public reeves
Anthony: sorry baby can I get a kiss
(Avani looks at him and kisses him)
Lexie: well I am gonna just go look for something to eat
Jaden: want me to come with you?
Lexie: no I'll be fine
Jaden: okay but if I think you need more food I am gonna get you it okay?
Lexie: okay
Lexie's pov
I walked to the buffet line and grabbed a plate and was placing strawberries on my plate when I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and nearly screamed but then turned around to see Leo.

Lexie: what are you doing here?
Leo: good morning to you too (pecks her on her lips)
Lexie: seriously the boys are here what are you doing here?
Leo: we just got back from space and silver, Naomi and Jenny have major hangovers so the guys and I came to bring them food
Lexie: it's nine thirty in the morning you've been at space the whole time?
Leo: yeah and I hooked up with the hottest Brunette girl like she is the definition of a Miami girl, hey now that your In LA maybe you could consider getting your tits or ass bigger it'll make you look hella sexier
Lexie: are you drunk right now?
Leo: no a little high though why?
Lexie: I just can't believe you would actually say that shit to me you know what Leo you can take your dick and shove it in some other Miami chick because I am so done (puts some pineapple on a plate)
Leo: what I am just saying you would look sexier that's all I mean your already sexy as fuck but it wouldn't hurt to lose one or two pounds either

After he said that to me I stopped dead in my tracks and turned to see the cup of orange juice he had in his hand and grabbed it from him and poured it over him and slapped him across the face.

Lexie: you are such an ass hole Leo don't ever talk to me again (starts to walk away)
Leo: wait lex I didn't mean it like that (pulls her arm back gently) I am sorry it wasn't supposed to come out the way it did your beautiful lex
Lexie: really I am beautiful? But two seconds ago you told me to lose a couple pounds and get plastic surgery your such a dumbass you know that
(Lexie walks away from him and sits at the table with the boys)
Quinton: strawberries and pineapple really lex?
Lexie: hmm (takes a bite)
Noah: come on at least eat a croissant (puts one on her plate)
Lexie: fine whatever
Blake: are you okay?
Lexie: fine (takes a bite of the croissant)
Thirty minutes later
Josh: everyone ready to go?
Lexie: where are we going?
Josh: there's an art district here where we can take some pics for insta
Lexie: oh okay
Griffin: yeah I am ready
Kio: me too
Jaden: alright I just called the limo driver and he should be here in about five minutes
Boys: okay
Lexie's pov
I was still thinking about what Leo had said to me.. I know I shouldn't but we literally hooked up yesterday on the boat, was he thinking how I should lose a few pounds then too? Or is it because now he knows what it's like to hook up with a perfect Miami girl and now has some standard that I don't match? Does he regret booking up with me now? Ugh I don't even know why I care what he thinks when we are just fuck buddies, but that comment hit home for me. It's one thing when a hater says it to me but it's another when I have someone who I have knows say it to me. I was too lost in my thoughts to realize that the boys were calling my name and telling me to get up so we can go to the limo so I got up and started walking with them.

Lexie: I am fine just feeling quiet today that's all

(They get In the limo and start driving with the windows rolled down and Lexie looks at Jaden)
Lexie: can I have my phone Jae
Jaden: yeah I guess (hands it to her)
Lexie: thanks (takes it and puts the headphones in)
Bryce: is it just me or is lex unusually quiet today
Amelie: she's a fifteen year old girl sometimes they are just quiet it's normal right addy?
Addison: yeah
Josh: but it's not like lex to be so quiet she's either giving attitude or joking around with us
Avani: guys I know you care about her but sometimes a girl just likes being in a bubble so let her

Lexie's pov
I was looking out the windows lost in my thoughts when I felt my phone vibrate and I saw the girls texted in our chat without the boys.

Lexie: okay but still he didn't have to tell me to my face like that and then tell me about the girl he hooked up with!
Grace: he's told you about his hookups before why does this it bother you this time?
Sarah: wait a minute are you possibly catching feelings lex? Because if you are... well you know how he is and it's just gonna get you heartbroken
Lexie: what!? No I absolutely do not have feelings for him, I just don't feel like why he felt the the need to tell me about the girl he hooked up with literally HOURS after hooking up with me, he doesn't have one decent bone in his body
Ariana: that sucks lex but it shouldn't come as a surprise to you when you know the kind of guy he is
Naomi: anyways off the the topic with Leo and now onto the next one since you couldn't sneak out last night lex what if you tell your brother your going to hang out with us in our room but really we are gonna go to this party at Austin Mahone's house
Lexie: wait THE Austin mahone the one that had like a few hits back in 2010? How did you get invited to his house?? And isn't he like twenty something
Grace: Zack saw him at space last night and they just started talking and then we met him and he's super chill he obviously thinks we are nineteen though because you know the fake ID, you still have yours right?
Lexie: yeah but it's in my bag... I don't know I doubt he's going to let me go to your room after you blew me off last night
Naomi: why? Because we didn't meet him?
Lexie: yeah
Grace: ugh they seriously take overprotective to the next level but we really want you to go so if we have to meet them so be it, what are you doing today?
Lexie: going to some place to take artsy pics for insta
Ariana: okay text us when your back at the hotel and we'll stop by and meet them so you can "come to our room" tonight
Jenny: oh we can even say we are just gonna have a sleepover that way they won't even suspect anything!!!
Lexie: yeah okay... I'll text you when I get to the hotel

Lexie's pov
I really didn't have a good feeling about this party especially not after what happened the last two times I hung out with them.. and there's no way Jaden would let me sleep over their room he would set up a curfew which I know they wouldn't listen to so I would get stuck riding an Uber at god knows what time... and do I really want to go out with them? I don't know anymore, I started bouncing my knee up and down just thinking about the possible scenarios that could happen and stopped when I felt a hand on my knee and looked up to see it was Amelie that put her hand on my knee.

Lexie: yeah I am fine
Amelie: (sighs) okay if you say so
(Lexie goes back to looking out the window getting lost in her thoughts again and starts bouncing her knee again and Jaden stops her)
Jaden: Lexie where is your stress ball?
Lexie: I don't know (shrugs her shoulder) haven't used it
Jaden: josh do you have one with you in your back pack?
Josh: I can check (opens the zipper and starts looking for it) no it's probably in the suitcase back at the hotel
Jaden: (sighs) lex I want you to start carrying at least one stress ball with you in your purse all the time okay?
Lexie: (mumbles) okay
Bryce: what were you thinking about?
Lexie: nothing
(The limo driver pulls into the art district and they all get out of the car and start walking around)
Addison: omg lex walk over to the wall with the blue angel wings and pose in the middle it would look super cute!
Lexie: I guess... (walks over there)
Amelie: okay now put your hand on your lips and look at the camera and just keep your face natural
Lexie: okay
(Lexie poses and Amelie takes the picture)
Amelie: perfect!
Lexie's POV
We spent the next hour walking around and taking pictures with the different murals and when I tell you I have never seen so many walls with so many different designs in my life I am being honest. Like LA has graffiti on it's walls but I would hardly call it art these people here in Miami are artists. There's one mural that had Yoda holding a poster that said "stop wars" and griffin took a pic there and then there were some other meaningful messages on the walls. I took a couple more and then josh and Jaden took a picture in front of mural that said Love is Love at the top of it in bright beautiful colors and took a picture of them kissing then they had me get in the picture with them and then all of us got in front of this bright blue mural with jelly fish and got a nice fan to take the picture for us. Bryce and Addison got a picture where Addison was climbing this ladder and Bryce was looking up at her as she was climbing up. Then they got one kissing underneath a red heart so did all the other couples while I just watched until they decided they were done taking pics and we got back in the car and headed to Bayside which was by the beach. It was like this big shopping center but had a park and live music. We were passing a group of people that were dancing to reggaeton music and just looked like they were having so much fun. The team was so in sync with each other and the energy that radiated off of them captivated my attention, I might not have understood the music because I don't speak Spanish but I love the beat in reggaeton music and I couldn't help but jump in with them. The boys and girls had stopped walking when they noticed that I wasn't following them but i was too busy trying to copy the foot work of the person who I am guessing is the coach and after two minutes I was able to pick it up and I was in sync with everyone else and by the time the song was over I had realized what I just did. I danced in front of a crowd for first time In three or four years and I had the biggest smile ok my face. People were clapping especially the boys, the other people on the team came up to high five me and then the coach walked up to me.

Coach: I have never seen a girl come and pick up a choreography that quickly
Student: for real you have talent that took us three weeks and you learned it in three minutes
Lexie: (smiles) thanks I was just watching you guys though..
Coach: doesn't matter you have talent kid are you from here we'd love to have you come by our studio
Lexie: I wish but I am from LA
Coach: oh cool we travel up there for competitions are you part of a studio?
Lexie: no not right now
Coach: well you should don't let that talent go to waste you could be something one day
Lexie: thank you so much that means a lot to me you have no idea
Coach: see ya kid
Lexie: bye
(Lexie walks back to the boys who are still in shock from seeing Lexie dance in public while Avani just pulls Lexie in for a hug)
Avani: I had no idea you could dance like that Love!
Lexie: thanks...
Jaden: that was amazing baby! I am so proud of you (pulls her away from Avani and hugs her) lex do you realize what you just did!!
Lexie: actually danced for the first time in front of a group of people since... Ronnie died...
Anthony: who was Ronnie?
Lexie: Ronnie was like my sister we went to the same dance studio and when we were eleven she was on her way to a competition that I couldn't go to.. they got in a car crash and she uh didn't make it... I haven't danced since (looks down at the floor)
Josh: (lifts up Lexie's chin) well I know you just made Ronnie really proud lex and the rest of us (kisses the top of her head)
Lexie: thanks josh, that was also the first time I told that story and didn't burst into a puddle of tears (jokes) I guess time really does heal huh
Jaden: so are you ready to get back on a stage when we get back home?
Lexie: yeah (smiles)
Jaden: good come on let's keep walking
Lexie's pov
We spent the rest of the day at bayside shopping and I even got a few crop tops and some cute dresses and we were on our way back to the hotel when I felt my phone vibrate and saw that it was Leo who texted me and I internally rolled my eyes.

(The driver pulls up to the hotel and griffin thanks him and they all get out of the car)
Lexie: hey uh Jaden
Jaden: yeah?
Lexie: is it uh okay if my friends come over to the room to meet you guys...
(Jaden looks at the boys and girls almost like they are having a silent convo and then Jaden looks at lex)
Jaden: I guess
Lexie: thank you! (Hugs him)
Kio: when are they coming?
Lexie: in like ten minutes
Griffin: okay let's go then
Lexie's pov
We all went up to the room and then I saw the bag with all the baby stuff in the corner of the room and gasped, quickly ran over to it and zipped it up and threw it in the closet. Then I looked for anything else in the room and found the bottle on the nightstand so I put it in the fridge and hid the pacifier in the drawer, and then spent the last three minutes squeezing my stress ball and bouncing my leg up and down.

(Lexie is about to respond when she hears a knock on the door and she gets off the chair she was sitting on and opens the door to see Naomi and the rest standing by the door)
Naomi: hey lex! (Pulls her in for a hug and whispers in her) just go with it trust me
Lexie: okay.. Anyways guys this is my brother Jaden, josh, Bryce
Jenny: we know who they are lex (laughs) but anyways I am Jenny and this is my boyfriend Eric, the one that just hugged lex is Naomi and the guy next to her is Zack her boyfriend then there's Ariana and beck, grace and Jack, and last Sarah and Cameron
Noah: wait a minute Sarah you look familiar we're you in line with us at Starbucks?

(Bryce looks at Leo who had snuck a hand around Lexie's waist and glares at him)
Bryce: I don't think we caught your name but I am gonna take a wild guess and say that you were the one that had a hand on Lexie's thigh (gently pulls Lexie away from him)

Avani: are you two dating?
Leo: yeah right (scoffs) I mean no we are just friends

Lexie's pov
You have got to be kidding me! Did he seriously just kiss me when he literally said we weren't dating! What is he doing!? I looked over at the boys and let's just say of looks could kill Leo would have been dead on the floor by now. Naomi, silver, Ariana, Grace, Sarah and Jenny were glaring at Avani, Addison, Amelie and Dixie so... this is gonna be fun!

Jaden: so I have a question since we all want to get to know each other a bit more

Jaden: it's okay lex I just want to know what a group of high schoolers are doing without parental supervision that's all
Lexie: josh make him stop (whispers in his ear)
Naomi: well are parents are rich and always traveling anyways so they don't really care what we do

Lexie: yup anyway you guys all met each other so why don't we just go to the room now for the sleepover right silver
Griffin: hold on a minute no one said anything about a sleep over
Lexie: oh I forgot to mention they asked if I could stay with them tonight but knew you wanted to meet them so here we are you met them and now we can go
Jaden: honestly lex I don't feel comfortable with you sleeping over there if you want you can hang out with them for like an hour but you need to have your phone on you at all times
Cameron: (mumbles) controlling much
Quinton: more like protective smart ass
Cameron: what did you just say to me?
Lexie: alright can we go now
Sarah: no hold on a second lex because I think these guys need to realize that they don't control you if you need a reminder we were the ones that stood by your sister when you went off to become a "famous rockstar"
Naomi: yeah so if Lexie wants to sleepover with us she can
Lexie: guys please stop it was dealt with it's over okay
Jaden: no it's not look Sarah I know I fucked up okay I get that and I'll own up to it but the only thing you guys were there for was to help her numb the pain, you got her into the party scene and your parents might not care what you guys do but she lives with me now and ultimately what I say goes and the only reason I let lex let you guys come was to give you the benefit of the doubt but clearly you have no respect or manners and I won't have my sister around you guys so I am asking you to leave the room or I'll call security
Leo: wow so that's the kind of guy you are the minute someone says something you don't like or hurts your ego you just kick them out right? Hate to say it but the truth hurts and I was there for her when you weren't
Lexie: guys please that's enough
Bryce: really you were there for her?! Or did you just take advantage of a hurt girl and sleep with her!! 
Lexie: Bryce!
Leo: (smirks) take advantage of her? No I am not like her asshole of a boyfriend which by the way only got his ass kicked when the guys and I found out what he did to her and where were you? Oh that's right ignoring your sisters phone calls and texts
Cameron: yeah kind of hypocritical to tell her to answer her phone when you never did
Lexie's pov
After that it was like World War Two started in the room the guys were yelling at each other and the girlfriends stepped into defend them which then caused the other girls to step in and no one was listening to me. God this was a bad idea.. I should have never invited them to Miami and I regret because now everyone is fighting and the room is starting to feel smaller with the amount of people that were in the room. The yelling was starting to overwhelm me and I was getting a headache, my palms were shaking and my heart was racing because I knew it was only going to be a matter of time before someone hit someone and they are still minors so someone could go to jail. I couldn't take it anymore I got off the floor and got on the bed and screamed.

Lexie: ENOUGH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD I AM TIRED OF HEARING YOU GUYS ARGUE!! YES JADEN WASN'T THERE FOR ME AND YOU GUYS WERE BUT I HAVE MOVED PAST THAT AND I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU ALL SHUT THR FUCK UP!!!
(Everyone stops yelling and looks at her)
Lexie: thank you now as I was saying both of you have cared about me in ways that I appreciate and guys Jaden has made up for it, I have forgiven him and Jaden you need to realize that despite them not liking you or whatever they were still there for me and they are my friends and if any of you cared about me at all then you would put aside your differences and move on
Griffin: why do you think we even said yes to them coming over lex? We tried to do that for you
Lexie: yeah and the first thing you guys did was interrogate them, you were never going to really give them a chance (looks at the boys) and you guys (looks at her friends) I appreciate you standing up for me but I have my own voice and as much as I hate all these rules that they give me I guess I have to respect them... because the truth is as protective and annoying as they are they are my family now and I love them
Olivia: we were your family first Lexie don't forget that
Naomi: come on guys let's just go we are gonna be late anyway
(Naomi and the group walk out of the hotel room and Jaden turns to look at Lexie)
Jaden: lex
Lexie don't just don't (takes her phone and headphones and walks out of the room)
Anthony: is someone gonna go after her?
Josh: I'll go (walks out of the room)
Lexie's pov
I couldn't stand to be in there anymore with any of them I walked out of the room and got in the elevator and headed down to the pool area because there was a beach not to far from there with a side walk. When I got to the side walk It was empty so I took out my phone and put on control by Zoe wees and took a deep breath before moving to the beat of the music and pouring out every emotion I felt in the moment. When the beat picked up I started doing shenae turns and letting my body move to the rhythm in a way I haven't done in years. Movements I thought I had forgotten just came back to me and it was like I was gliding across the sidewalk and by the end of the song I was breathing heavy and tears were streaming down my face and when I looked across from me I saw josh clapping as he walked over to me and pulled me in for a hug.

Josh: that was incredible lex
Lexie: thanks... what are you doing out here?
Josh: I didn't want you to be by yourself after what just went down
Lexie: oh that makes sense
Josh: want to sit down and talk?

(Josh and Lexie sit down on one of the benches)
Josh: you know Jaden loves you right? He loves you so much and sometimes it's hard for him to realize that he needs to let go just a bit, he wants to protect you after everything that has happened and he feels so guilty for not being there but he's trying his best to make up for it lex
Lexie: I know that... I am not mad at him anymore for a long time I was and then I was hurt and then angry again but I let it go now I love you guys with all my heart and I love my friends to you know they were there when I needed them...
josh: but you don't need them anymore Lexie you have us and I know you might not see it now but sometimes it's easy for us to be with people who are familiar because we think they know us the best but you've changed... I know you probably don't want to admit it but the past three months you've been trying and yeah these past couple of days you've taken steps back but that's because your around the people that influence you
Lexie: they know the old me but haven't gotten to know the newer version of me and being around them makes it easier to revert back to my old ways
Josh: exactly
Lexie: can I tell you something josh?
Josh: yeah
Lexie: I have had anxiety the whole day today and it wasn't because they were coming to the room... I have had anxiety the whole day because we were never going to stay in the room tonight, they were planning on going to another party and instead of feeling excited like I usually did I was plagued with anxiety because yesterday I said that I was gonna try and earn your guys trust and If I did that I would break it again
Josh: (stays quiet for a minute) well I'll tell you one thing Lexie the fact that you were just honest with me right now is a step in the right direction and that anxiety you were feeling today is just a sign that you knew what you were going to do was going to be the wrong thing and I am proud of you for listening to that feeling and telling me the truth
Lexie: I love you Joshy
Josh: I love you too now let's go back up to the room I am just the guys are dying for a hug from you
Lexie: (laughs) yeah I guess
(Lexie and josh get off the bench and walk back into that hotel and take the elevator to the doll and open it)
Kio: you guys are back, how did it go?
Lexie: we had a good talk
Griffin: really?
Josh: yeah
Lexie: I love you guys (hugs each of them)
Boys: we love you too
Griffin: alright it's getting late and we are driving to the key west tomorrow for New Years
Lexie: seriously!?
Griffin: yeah it's a drive though so we need to get some sleep
Boys: okay
(The boys leave and Lexie walks into the bathroom to take a shower)
Josh: you know what lex told me outside
Jaden: what?
Josh: that she was feeling anxiety the whole day because if she had went with them she wouldn't have stayed in that hotel room and they were planning on going to another party and she didn't want to break our trust by going
Kio: she told you that?
Josh: yeah I think we are finally starting to get through to her
Griffin: yeah maybe she really did learn from the other day
(Lexie comes out dressed in pajama's and walks over to Jaden's side of the bed and cuddled into him)
Lexie: (whispers in his ear) I want milk
Jaden: (smiles and kisses the top of her head) okay (tries to get off the bed)
Lexie: no you stay with me
Jaden: okay josh can you pour some milk in the bottle?
Josh: yeah
(Josh walks over to the bag in the closet and pulls out the bottle and pours milk into the bottle and hands it to Lexie who hands it to Jaden and he feeds her as she closes her eyes and falls asleep and a few minutes later Jaden puts the bottle away and turns the light off and they all go to sleep)
