Chapter 26

Sunday
Jaden: lex you gotta wake up (whispers)
Lexie: no (whines)
Josh: we have to get to the airport
Lexie: ugh but I am tired
Jaden: you can sleep on the plane but right now get up
Lexie: fine (opens her eyes)
Jaden: are you going to wear that to the airport?
Lexie: no I'll go throw on a hoodie and some sweats actually can I use one of yours?
Jaden: sure (walks over to his closet and tosses her a light blue hoodie)
Lexie: thanks (takes it and starts walking to her room)
Josh: and take your suitcases downstairs so we can put them in the car
Lexie: okay
Lexie's pov
I walked into my room and opened my drawer and pulled out a pair of simple black sweatpants from Victoria secret and my sneakers then grabbed my suitcases and duffle bag and brought them downstairs by the door and went back up to grab my purse which had my phone, headphones and ID in it and walked downstairs to wait for the boys. I pulled out my phone to see it was six in the morning and groaned i can't remember the last time I woke up this early, a few minutes later the boys came downstairs along with Bryce and griffin who had woken up too.

Bryce: have fun in Canada I'll miss you kid (hugs her)
Griffin: yeah the house is gonna be weird without you guys in it
Lexie: aren't you guys leaving too?
Griffin: yeah but not for a couple more days
Lexie: oh okay what's the plan for New Years finally?
Griffin: we are definitely spending it together we just don't know where to go yet
Josh: we can talk about that over FaceTime
Griffin: okay sounds good
Jaden: alright we gotta get to the airport peace out guys (bro hugs them)
Bryce: text the group chat when you land
Josh: yeah we will don't worry
Griffin: have a safe flight
Josh: you guys too
Lexie's pov
We left the house and got in Josh's car which one of the boys will go pick up at the airport later because no way we were going to leave such an expensive car in a Los Angeles airport parking lot it's too risky. We got in the car and josh started driving and I closed my eyes until I felt my door being opened and I opened my eyes to see we were at the airport. I groaned and rubbed the sleep from eyes and grabbed my duffel bag and suitcases while the boys got their luggage and we started walking into the airport, and even though it was six in the morning there were still people there some of them being fans and had the audacity to walk up to the boys at what is now six thirty in the morning asking for pictures which they politely took and then told them we had to get to security and board the plane and headed to TSA. TSA was probably the worst part about going on a plane now listen I get it it's necessary to keep everyone safe but I hate having to take my sneakers off and put everything in a bin only to take it out of the bin and slip my sneakers back on after five minutes. The boys let me walk through security first so I showed the workers my plane ticket and ID and then went through the sensor and grabbed my bags and put my sneakers on and five minutes later Jaden and josh were good to go and we walked to our gate. We still had another thirty minutes till we had to board and I saw a Starbucks across from us and I was craving a s'mores frappe since they are back now.

Lexie: can I get a s'mores frappe?
Jaden: yeah can you get me one too?
Lexie: sure josh you want anything?
Josh: a croissant and a vanilla bean frappe thanks lex
Lexie: hmm no problem (walks over to the Starbucks and she orders her food and waits for the drink when she feels a tap on her shoulder and turns around) can I help you?
?: are you Lexie hossler?
Lexie: yeah why?
?: my name is Mindy and I think your super pretty can I get a picture?
Lexie: uh sure I guess
Mindy: yay thank you! (Smiles and takes the picture with Lexie)
Lexie: that's it?
Mindy: yeah why?
Lexie: I was just kind of waiting for the insult that comes after the picture... that's all (she takes the drinks and croissant from the counter)
Mindy: I promise I won't insult you and I am sorry for all the hate you get you don't deserve it
Lexie: thanks I think your the first person to actually say that to me what's your insta I'll follow you once I can get back on social media?
Mindy: oh it's mindylovessway (blushes)
Lexie: (laughs) of course it is (writes it in her notes) I'll follow you as soon as I can
Mindy: okay thank you so much and your so sweet
Lexie: not usually but it's early so I am feeling nice (laughs)
Mindy: haha got it well I better go before my mom starts wondering where I am but it was nice meeting you Lexie
Lexie: you too Mindy (starts walking back to the boys with the drinks and food and sits down with a shocked look on her face)
Josh: what happened you look like you saw a ghost?
Lexie: a fan was actually nice for once and wanted a picture so I did one with her and waited for the insult but she never did and then even said I didn't deserve the hate it was weird
Jaden: aww that's a true fan for sure I am happy you had at least one good experience with a fan and maybe it changes your mind that not all fans hate you
Lexie: no it won't she was just a rare one but anyways are we boarding yet (takes a sip of her drink)
Josh: ten more minutes
Lexie: okay
Ten minutes later
Lexie's pov
The announcer started calling for first class tickets which were us so we boarded the plane quickly and I called the window seat which left josh in the middle and Jaden in the aisle seat, and I plugged in my headphones and lay my head on Josh's shoulder and closed my eyes because I was still tired.

Josh: damn we just took off and bud's knocked out
Jaden: haha she's not used to waking up early but maybe she'll sleep for the whole six hour flight
Josh: yeah maybe
Jaden: hey I have been wanting to ask you something
Josh: yeah babe
Jaden: are we gonna tell your parents and siblings about us?
Josh: do you want too?
Jaden: only if your comfortable with it I don't want to make you feel like you have to or anything
Josh: I mean I think they would support us but how do you feel?
Jaden: I feel fine telling them but I wanted to make sure you were okay with it too
Josh: then yeah I am okay with it we can tell them tonight at dinner
Jaden: okay (pecks him on the lips) I am tired
Josh: me too you can lean your head on my other shoulder and then I'll lean against the chair
Jaden: you sure?
Josh: yeah your on the aisle it makes more sense for you to lean on me
Jaden: okay (leans on his shoulder and closes his eyes)
Josh's pov
I looked down at Jaden who had fallen asleep seconds after laying on my shoulder much like Lexie and then I looked over at Lexie who was leaning on my other shoulder but also clinging onto my arm and I couldn't help but think about how lucky I am to have both of them. I never would have thought two years ago Jaden and I would be a couple... I mean we were the closest in the house but to me he was my best friend and nothing more but then isn't that how it's supposed to be? Your supposed to fall in love with your best friend regardless of gender because your best friend is supposed to be your other half, because if that's the case Jaden is definitely it. He brings out the mature responsible side of me while I bring out his fun, crazy and loving side granted I am still crazy even with Jaden but we balance each other out and that's something Nessa and I didn't do. Don't get me wrong we had a strong connection but I have never connected with anyone the way that I have with Jaden. I stopped looking at him and looked over at the brunette little girl clinging onto me and I wanted to protect her from everything in the world, she has already been through so much and she's only fifteen and my heart aches for her. She was robbed of her innocence at a young age when she still should have been a kid and it angered me but that just made me even more motivated to take care of her, protect her and love her in a way that she didn't have. I then looked back over at Jaden and gave him a kiss on the forehead before closing my eyes and going to sleep too.

Three hours later
Lexie's pov
I woke up and the first thing I noticed was that we were still on the plane and josh and Jaden were sleeping on top of each other and I took out my phone to take a picture of them to use for blackmail later haha. Since we were already up in the air and it was safe to walk around I unbuckled my belt and stood up to use the bathroom which was on the back of the plane so I started walking to the back and I heard footsteps behind me but didn't think anything of it and figured it was someone heading to the bathroom too and was going to wait, so I went into the stall and did my business and washed my hands and opened the door going to step out when I saw a boy who looked a few years older then me push me back into the stall and I knew that he wasn't just waiting to use the bathroom. My fight instincts flared up and I was about to hit him and scream for help when I got pushed against the door so he was pinning me and had a hand on my mouth.

Boy: listen to me very carefully cutie your going to be a good girl and shut your mouth and we are gonna have some fun okay? (Lowers his hand towards the button of her jeans and and slips his hand inside her pants) nod your head if you understand
Lexie: (nods her head and the boy uncovers his hand) JADEN!! JOSH HELP!!!
Boy: what the fuck did I tell you? (Slaps her across the face)
Jaden's pov
I woke up to hearing someone scream my name and at first I thought it was just a dream but then I noticed Lexie wasn't sitting in her seat and my heart stopped. I heard another scream which woke josh up but I didn't wait for him to unbuckle his seat because I was already running towards the back of the plane because that's where's Lexie's scream came from and when I got to the back of the plane people were staring but they weren't doing anything which pissed me off but I made it towards the stall of the bathroom and opened it only to see some stupid boy probably a few years older then Lexie in the stall with her. She had tears streaming down her face and her cheek was red, I quickly grabbed the boy and threw him out of the stall and that's when the flight attendant finally came up and asked what was going on and by then josh had caught up to us.

Flight attendant: may I ask what's happening here?
Jaden: yeah this boy just came and tried to molest my sister and if we weren't on a plane right now and I couldn't get arrested I would have beat the shit out of him
Flight attendant: oh my gosh I am so sorry sir we will have him escorted to an area on the plane where he will be monitored
Josh: yeah and I think you should have a someone specific guarding the bathrooms it's really irresponsible on your part for not being aware of what was going on
Flight attendant: your right sir I am very sorry too I was helping middle class
Jaden: I don't give a shit it's your responsibility to be aware my sister could have been raped on this flight and no one would have known or stopped it
Lexie: Jaden it's okay I am okay (whispers and holds his hand)
Jaden: it's not okay but whatever come on (takes her hand and they walk back to their seats)
Josh: what were you doing anyway lex?
Lexie: i I I had to use the bathroom and I didn't want to w w wake you guys up... plus I figured I would be back in like five minutes tops...
Jaden: (sighs and hugs her) did he touch you?
Lexie: (nods her head) but then I screamed for you guys so I am okay
Josh: (looks at the flight attendant) can I get some ice please?
Flight attendant: yes sir (walks away)
Lexie: I am okay Joshy
Josh: you might be but your cheek is red (strokes her cheek)
Lexie: (winces) okay I get it but I am fine really
(The flight attendant hands her a bag with ice and she places it on her cheek)
Jaden: from now on don't go anywhere by yourself okay?
Lexie: okay...
Jaden's pov
My blood was boiling I wanted to get out of my seat and walk up to the kid and punch him till he's passed out and bleeding for touching my sister, but I can't because she needs me more right now. I know she's not going to admit it but what just happened scared her I could see it in her body language and her eyes. I grabbed her carry on bag and opened it to find the rainbow stress ball and handed it to her.

Lexie: (mumbles) thanks (grabs it with her other hand)
Jaden: your welcome
Lexie's pov
I held the ice on my cheek for a good ten minutes before I told josh I didn't want it anymore and he went to throw it away while I just wanted to get off this plane as quick as possible. I tried not to bounce my leg up and down because I knew if I did the boys would know how nervous I actually am and I don't want them worrying about me. I tried closing my eyes but every time I did the boys voice calling me a good girl brought me flashbacks from when Jake used to call me that which sent chills down my spine. I just distracted myself with the stress ball and MGK until we finally landed. We got off the plane and headed straight to baggage claim while josh called his mom since she was the one picking us up from the airport. Not gonna lie but I was worried to meet his parents and his siblings, what if they don't like me? What if his sister and brother hate me? Will she feel like josh replaced her? God I hope not the last thing I need is another person hating me.. I was brought out of my thoughts when I felt a tap on my shoulder and I let out an unintentional squeal until I saw it was josh that tapped me on the shoulder and I could see he had a worried look on his face.

Josh: sorry lex I didn't mean to startle you but we are walking to the front now and you looked zoned out
Lexie: oh sorry I didn't mean too
Josh: it's okay are you okay though?
Lexie: yeah come on let's go (starts walking)
(They walk to the front of the airport and josh sees his mom and walks over to her and hugs her)
Josh: mom I want you to meet Jaden and his sister Lexie, guys this is my mom Casey
Casey: hi! It's wonderful to finally meet you guys
(walks over and hugs Jaden and Lexie who flinches and she pulls away)
Jaden: you too Mrs. Richards
Casey: please call me Casey come on let's get you guy to the house we are gonna go pick up everyone up and go out for breakfast
Josh: sounds good mom
Lexie's pov
We followed Josh's mom to her van and she got in the drivers seat while Jaden, josh and I climbed into the first row and josh kept pointing at places in Toronto that had like a memory or some story behind it and he had a smile on his face and got really excited when he was talking and I could tell he was happy to be home. Jaden and I would exchange looks at each other whenever josh was rambling and we both knew what the other was thinking and then looked back at the excited eighteen year old who had went on with his story until we pulled up to the driveway about an hour later. We got out of the car and grabbed our stuff and as soon as the door opened a little boy ran up to josh and tackled him catching him off guard and he fell with the boy on his lap and we burst out laughing.

Josh: (laughs) I missed you too bud but did you have to tackle me
?: yes!
Josh: haha well get off me so I can introduce you too
?: Jaden and Lexie hi I am will!
Jaden: hi will it's nice to meet you?
Will: you too and this is our sister Olivia
Olivia: hi (smiles and waves)
Josh: what? No hug come here (walks over and hugs her) I have missed you
Olivia: me too
?: son your home!
Josh: dad! (Stops hugging Olivia and hugs his dad) guys this is my dad Derek
Jaden: hi mr. Richards thank you for allowing us to crash your Christmas (laughs)
Derek: nonsense the more the merrier anyway you guys must have had a long flight so Olivia why don't you show them to their room and then we can eat
Josh: yeah sounds good I am starving
Olivia: when aren't you (jokes) anyways come with me
(Olivia shows the three of them to Josh's room where there's two beds and a pull out couch)
Olivia: you can room with me if you want Lexie you know get a break from the boys I am sure it's exhausting being around them all the time
Josh: hey you I have been here for five minutes and your already bullying me
Olivia: duh that's what sisters are for but for real lex you can share with me if you want
(Lexie looks over at Jaden and then back at Olivia not knowing what to say because she doesn't want to be rude)
Jaden: thanks Olivia that's really sweet but I think Lexie would be more comfortable with us
Olivia: oh okay no problem come join us in the living room when your ready to go
(Walks out of the room)
Josh: grab one of your coats it's gonna get colder as the day continues
Jaden: okay
(Lexie opens her suitcase and grabs a white puffy coat while Jaden grabs a black one and josh picks out a blue one and then they walk out to the living room)
Casey: are you guys ready to go?
Lexie: yup
Casey: great come on
Lexie's pov
Casey, Derek, will and Olivia were so welcoming it was almost shocking, I wasn't used to this and I think that's why I am being quiet right now because when I am not used to something my immediate response is to just get defensive and put my guard up but I don't want to seem rude in front of Josh's family so I stayed quiet taking everything in instead. It was snowing outside and I hadn't seen snow since Tennessee last Christmas and almost forgot how pretty it was. I was sitting in between Jaden and Olivia because will insisted on sitting with josh, will was definitely an energetic cute kid for sure but I haven't gotten a vibe from Olivia yet. I keep waiting for the moment when it's just the two of us and she starts throwing insults at me... or maybe she is just genuinely nice and I have to stop expecting the worst from people.. here I go again spiraling with my thoughts until we pulled into a parking lot of a restaurant that said sunset grill and got out of the van. I sat in between Jaden and josh with Olivia and will in front of us and the parents on the opposite side of the table and looked over the menu.

Jaden: chocolate chip pancakes lex?
Lexie: no I think I'll go with the kids fruit bowl
Olivia: I was thinking the same thing the pineapple's really good here
Lexie: good to know
Josh: why don't you have a waffle with it Lexie: because I just want the fruit plus I already had the s'mores frappe earlier which was sweet enough
Jaden: I am getting you one waffle and you have to at least eat half of it
Lexie: fine (mumbles)
(The waitress comes over and gets their orders and walks away when the boys phones go off)
Group chat
Ant: did you guys land??
Josh: shit sorry yeah we landed and are having breakfast with my parents and forgot to text you guys
Bryce: oh it's fine next time we'll just keep thinking the plane crashed
Jaden: we are good guys don't worry
Quinton: how was the flight?
Jaden: that's a story for later we'll ft you guys when we are back at the house
Blake: okay

Casey: so Lexie how do you like LA so far?
Lexie: oh uh it's different but I am happy to be with Jaden again
Derek: I bet so how old are you?
Lexie: I am fifteen
Will: Olivia's seventeen
Olivia: yes will thank you for sharing that (laughs)
Lexie: so are you a senior then?
Olivia: no i just turned seventeen so I am a junior what about you?
Lexie: I am supposed to be a sophomore but it's a long story... (takes a sip of her water)
Olivia: oh okay what else do you like doing?
Lexie: honestly I am still trying to figure it out i don't know I am still trying to get used to everything
Olivia: I bet
Casey: how do you survive being the only girl in the house they would drive me crazy
Lexie: (laughs) I don't even know honestly I still want to kill them sometimes
Derek: what about you Jaden, josh tells me you do music?
Jaden: yeah I am actually signed to a record label and have a few songs released and an album coming out that I am really excited about
Casey: that's awesome you must be so happy
Jaden: yeah it's been a dream of mine for years so to actually make it a reality is awesome
Derek: that's great
Jaden: what about you? Josh tells me you coach a high school sports team?
Derek: yeah hockey and Olivia is in lacrosse
Jaden: that's so cool maybe while we are here we can go I don't know much about hockey but josh and I played lacrosse in LA a few weeks ago
Josh: oh we are definitely going to play some hockey I can't be in Canada and not go on the ice like that's just not going to happen
Derek: okay we can go tomorrow
(The waitress brings them the food and Lexie eats her fruit but then grabs the fork and knife and stares at the waffle)
Casey: do you not like waffles honey?
Lexie: oh no it's not that it's just food and I have a uh complicated relationship.. (picks up the fork and puts the piece of waffle in her mouth and Jaden holds her hand to make her feel more comfortable)
Lexie's pov
I finally finished half the waffle and everyone else was also done so we left the restaurant and headed back to the house because we all decided we were just going to hang out there for the day and tomorrow we'll do some sightseeing. Once we were back at the house the first thing I did was take a shower and then looked at the pajamas I packed and realized the only ones warm enough were the onesies that the boys bought which I glared at and put on a regular long sleeve with pajama shorts but then started freezing even underneath the covers in the living room so I reluctantly got up and went back to my suitcase and pulled out the rose gold one glared at it but eventually put it on and went back to the living room, and for the next ten minutes the boys wouldn't stop saying how cute I looked and even took a picture and sent it to the group chat. I rolled my eyes at them and went to sit by Olivia and will because they were being nicer and we watched Star Wars until eleven when Josh's parents called it a night for will and them while Olivia went to her room but not before inviting me to her room if I wanted to but I just said I was tired not wanting to bother her and went to the room with the boys instead but we weren't tired because we were still kind of in LA time so we decided to FaceTime the boys.

Boys: hey!!!
Josh: what's up?
Blake: not much you know Quinton and Bryce playing ping pong how about you guys?
Lexie: just finished watching Star Wars
Griffin: you watched Star Wars, I am shocked
Lexie: yeah I know me too (laughs)
Ant: how was your first full day in Toronto?
Jaden: cool it's cold and snowing so
We just chilled but we are enjoying ourselves
Kio: that's good so are you guys gonna tell us what happened on the plane?
Jaden: some mother fucker decided to follow lex to the bathroom and tried to touch her
Lexie: Jadennnn I told you it's fine
Josh: no it's not I wanted to punch the kid but I didn't feel like getting arrested
Jaden: me too the only thing I did was throw him into the ground I could have done a lot more
Bryce: what the fuck I would have sent that kid to the hospital
Lexie: I know but guys whatever let's just move on from it please
Them: okay
Quinton: Bryce and I are going to get back to playing ping pong but we'll talk tomorrow
Josh: okay night guys
Them: night

Lexie: did you have to tell them?
Jaden: yeah of course why wouldn't we?
Lexie: because that just gives them more of a reason to be overprotective
Josh: sorry kid we love you now it's getting late let's lay down
Lexie: okay
Jaden's pov
Lexie lay down in the middle of the bed with me on her right side and josh on the left and he turned his LED lights to a darker blue and turned the tv on and we decided on watching home alone. I wrapped my arms around Lexie and brought her closer to me so she was cuddling against me and a little while into the movie I looked over at josh and gave him a nod and he quietly got off the bed and went over to the bag and grabbed a case which held a pink pacifier with a butterfly on it and he handed it to me.

Lexie's pov
I was halfway into home alone and I was cuddled up against Jaden when I felt something being pressed up against my lips so I turned my attention away to the tv and saw that Jaden was holding a pacifier in his hand and trying to put it in my mouth... this motherfucker is trying to be slick thinking that I must be so into the movie that I would not notice him trying to put something in my mouth he is so stupid. I looked up at him and then looked at the pacifier and pushed it away from me because there's no way I am sucking on that thing.

Jaden: Lexie please just for five minutes
Lexie: no way in hell
Josh: come on I think you should at least try it... you were under a lot of stress today and you got triggered multiple times
Lexie: how did you
Josh: what? You think we wouldn't notice how nervous you were at the restaurant to eat in front of my parents? You think we didn't notice your leg bouncing up and down in the van even though you were sitting on Jaden's lap? And don't think you can play off like your fine after what happened at the airport
Jaden: you can try and fool every one else around you but don't forget we can read you like a book now even now I can feel you tense up in my arms
Lexie: yeah because you just put a pacifier in front of my face
Jaden: no you were tense before that so just please don't fight me on this and put the pacifier in your mouth
Lexie: the only way I'll suck on a pacifier is if pigs fly
Jaden: I really didn't want to have to do this lex
Lexie: do what?
(Jaden takes the opportunity while Lexie's talking to put the pacifier in her mouth and holds it there so she can't spit it out)
Lexie: (muffled) Jaden take it out
Jaden: shh just relax and watch the movie
Lexie: no I don't want too take this stupid thing out of my mouth right now
Josh's pov
Lexie wasn't giving up on trying to get the pacifier out of her mouth but Jaden wasn't budging either he kept holding it in place and I decided to stroke her hair because that always calmed her down and she then started to push my hand away and I knew she wasn't going to stop so I just stopped stroking her hair and she went back to trying to fight Jaden.

Lexie's pov
Clearly Jaden has lost his fucking mind if he thinks I am sucking on this thing that's in my mouth right now it's like this rubbery feeling and I hate it so I started pushing his hand away from me because he was just holding the damn thing and not saying anything and also not budging so I figured that i could just push his hand away from me and then spit it out, but I guess I underestimated how much he's been working out because his hand wasn't budging and then finally I managed to move his hand a little bit but then he just picked me up and legit cradled me in his arms so I couldn't fight him since he was holding me and I couldn't even pay attention to the movie which was almost over because I was to busy fighting his grip.

Jaden: would you stop fighting it lex it's really not that big of a deal just close your eyes and leave it there
Lexie: I don't want to (muffled)
Jaden's pov
A few minutes later the movie finished and josh turned the tv off because it was twelve thirty now and Lexie was still fighting me so I decided that I would start singing be alright since that's the song that puts her to sleep. Three minutes into me singing and her still trying to push my arm away josh came closer to us and started stroking her hair again and I kept singing and ten minutes later she finally fell asleep and I put her back in the middle of the bed and I noticed she started to unconsciously suck on the pacifier and I sighed in relief.

Josh: (sighs) finally she's asleep
Jaden: yeah I know
Josh: how long did she try pushing you away?
Jaden: however long it was until after I started singing I don't know but despite her working out all the time she really didn't have much strength trying to push my arm away
Josh: at least you were patient with her
Jaden: well she wasn't really doing anything to make me lose my patience maybe if she started cursing and actually trying to fight me then I would have lost it but I think she was too tired to do that even if she wouldn't admit it
Josh: yeah your right it could have been a lot worse and I don't want to jinx anything just yet because I know she's going to fight us every time we try to coax her into it
Jaden: yeah but as long as we stay patient like we did tonight we should be fine right?
Josh: are you trying to convince me of that or yourself (laughs)
Jaden: both (laughs) shit we should probably be quiet we don't want to wake her up
Josh: no shit Sherlock (whispers) anyways are we gonna tell my parents about us tomorrow?
Jaden: yeah whenever you want
Josh: okay (pecks him on the lips) let's get some sleep
Jaden: okay goodnight babe (leans in for another kiss and then they fall asleep)
