Chapter 53

Tuesday (3 am)
(Lexie's having a nightmare in little space)
Josh's pov
I heard someone whimpering in my sleep and didn't really think much of it but then the whimpering got louder and louder and I could feel Jaden start to move in his sleep as well. I turned over to my nightstand and turned on the LED lights and saw Lexie's facial expression in her sleep she looked scared and she was whimpering but she wasn't screaming like she usually does. I figured I could try and wake her up though before the nightmare got to much for her and lightly shook her but that just made her start crying and woke up Jaden.

Jaden: is she having another nightmare?
Josh: yeah I think so
Jaden: (sighs and lightly shakes her) Lexie baby wake up it's just a dream your okay
(Lexie keeps whimpering and starts to kick so Jaden picks her up and starts to rock her back and forth which results in more crying)
Jaden: lex open your eyes it's okay your safe (runs his fingers through her hair)
Lexie's pov
I opened my eyes and looked around for the mean boy in my dream but instead I was in bubba's arms and he was rocking me back and forth while Joshy looked worried.

Josh: are you okay lex? Do you want to talk about it
Lexie's pov
I knew what Joshy was saying to me but for some reason my mind felt fuzzy I couldn't get myself to say what I wanted to say and that scared me even more so I opened my mouth and tried to speak.

Jaden: a bad dream?
(Lexie nods her head)
Josh: do you want to talk about it?
(Lexie shakes her head)
Jaden: it's okay baby do you want to try going back to sleep?
(Lexie vigorously shakes her head no and starts crying again)
Jaden: shh shh it's okay (rubs her back)
(Lexie opens her mouth to talk again but it comes out In gurgles and she gets frustrated)
Josh: hey babe
Jaden: yeah
Josh: I think she's in little space
Jaden: I figured that out but why isn't she talking?
Josh: maybe she's in like little little space
Jaden: like less then two
Josh: yeah
Lexie's pov
Ugh why can't I talk?! This is so frustrating how hard can it be for me to just open my mouth and speak I have done it before. I looked at bubba who was talking to Joshy but I wanted his attention. I want to know why I can think words but I can't say them so I tried again.

Jaden: (looks down at her) yeah baby
(Lexie looks at him trying to talk but all that comes out is gurgles and she starts crying again)
Jaden: hey hey it's okay shh (gets off the bed and bounces her up and down but Lexie hits him on the shoulder) okay I guess you don't want to be bounced
Josh: what do we do now?
Jaden: pass me her pacifier maybe that will calm her down
Josh: okay (hands it to him)
(Jaden puts the pacifier in her mouth but Lexie throws it and starts crying again and the bedroom door opens)
Ant: I heard crying did lex have another nightmare
Josh: yeah but she's also regressed to the point she can't talk and she's trying but all that comes out is gurgles so she's frustrated
Ant: aww what if I brought buddy in here do you think that would help?
Jaden: you can try, anything to get her to stop crying
(Ant walks out of the room and brings buddy inside and Jaden stands her on the floor but she falls getting her to start crying again and Bryce walks in)
Bryce: is everything okay?
Ant: lex won't stop crying
Josh: wait I have an idea she can't talk but maybe she can write...
Jaden: she couldn't even stand up straight and you think she's going to be able to write?
Josh: it's worth a shot
(Bryce gets a piece of paper and a pencil and hands it to Lexie)
Lexie's pov
Bice handed me white thingy and a stick thing I held the thingy and didn't know what to do with it so I ripped it and it made a sound so I started laughing. I ripped another piece and the sound happened again then I dropped the paper onto the floor and held the stick and looked at it. I didn't know what to do with it so I put it in my mouth until bubba took it from me.

Jaden: no baby that's bad for you we don't put that in your mouth
(Lexie whines and makes grabby hands for it)
Josh: you can have tabby how about that (hands her the stuffed animal)
Lexie's pov
Oshy hand me small thing and I no no what to do with it it was fuzzy though, I pick it up and put it my mouth and took it out because now I have fuzzy stuff on my tongue so I tried spitting it out.

Jaden: (looks at Lexie and laughs a little) maybe next time don't put that In your mouth either missy
Bryce: maybe she's hungry
Jaden: yeah maybe can you guys stay with her I'll make her a bottle and maybe that will put her back to sleep
Josh: yeah good idea
Jaden's pov
I went downstairs and was walking into the kitchen and saw that the lights were already on and Griffin and Kio were placing cookies in the oven.

Jaden: so I see you two decided to make cookies for yourselves (jokes and crosses his arms)
Griffin: in our defense we thought everyone was asleep
Kio; yeah
Jaden: we would be but lex woke up from a nightmare (takes the pot out and starts boiling the water)
Griffin: is she okay?
Jaden: I don't know she's regressed to a baby but like an actual baby she tried putting a pencil in her mouth and she could barely stand straight when I put her down on the floor to play with buddy, she can't even form words right now
Kio: she's never regressed so young before I wonder why the sudden change
Jaden: I don't know either (puts the bottle in the water) should I call the doctor and see if it's okay?
Griffin: yeah besides the last time she had a check up was before you guys left to Canada maybe it's time for another one
Jaden: true but she was just in the hospital a month ago
Kio: yeah but that doesn't really count
Jaden: true I'll call doctor Grey and set up an appointment but not today because she has school and therapy today
Griffin: are you going to have her do both if she can't talk?
Jaden: obviously not but we are going to try and put her to sleep again so maybe when she wakes up again she'll be out of it
Kio: and if she's not?
Jaden: I'll stay home today with her
Them: okay
(The bottle's warm enough so Jaden puts milk in it, tests it and walks back upstairs to see Lexie laying on the bed playing with her feet gurgling while josh and Bryce talk)
Jaden: hey baby look what I have
(Jaden shows Lexie the bottle and she squeals and starts making grabby hands for it)
Lexie's pov
Bubba hand me bottle and I grab bottle but it felt heavy and I dropped it on the bed and started crying because I really wanted the bottle.

Bryce: hey hey it's okay little one (picks up Lexie and then grabs the bottle on the bed and presses it to her lips)
Josh: you can hand her over if you want to go back to bed Bryce
Bryce: nah it's okay she's comfortable right now
Josh: okay if you say so
(Josh turns the LED lights to a darker setting and Jaden walks over to josh and lays on right side of the bed while Bryce is on the left)
Bryce's pov
I watched Lexie as she sucked on the bottle and I realized this was the first time I am giving it to her usually she'll only let josh or Jaden do it because she's too embarrassed to let anyone else do it. She looked so small and fragile in my arms it was hard to believe she even was fifteen sometimes. She finished her bottle but her eyes were still open and she was just looking at me and I couldn't help but think if Lexie was in her normal headspace right now she probably would have thrown the bottle at my head by now, I laughed at that thought and then looked over to josh and Jaden who found themselves in their own little world. I looked back at lex and grabbed the pacifier that was on the nightstand and put it in her mouth and a few minutes later she was asleep clutching onto my hoodie.

Bryce: (whispers) guys
Jaden: hmm (looks at him)
Bryce: she's asleep do you want me to put her on the bed?
Jaden: no it's okay you can just put her in the middle of the bed
(Bryce leans over to put her down but lex clutches onto his hoodie tighter)
Bryce: a little help she has a tight grip (jokes)
Josh: I got it (lightly pulls on her fingers to let go of the hoodie and she lets out a whine) shh shh (lays her in the middle)
Jaden: thanks for helping Bryce
Bryce: yeah of course it can't always be you two you know
Josh: still thank you
Bryce: what time is it?
Jaden: five thirty
Bryce: damn alright I am going back to bed
Them: night
Josh: do you think she'll snap out of it in the morning
Jaden: I have no idea but I am going to set up an appointment with doctor grey for whenever she has available I just think it would be a good idea you know
Josh: yeah and see how her stress levels have been
Jaden: exactly, anyways it is late and you have to go to sleep since your waking up for the podcast
Josh: damn I forgot about that and Bryce is coming on today too
Jaden: good that way Bryce and Dave can settle the feud and fans can stop spreading rumors
Josh: yeah I am tired of the rumors like we are brothers and brothers are going to have their arguments just because we took a small break from filming doesn't mean the whole sway is breaking up (shakes his head)
Jaden: yeah I understand but before you go ranting again let's go to sleep (pecks him on the lips)
Josh: Is that your polite way of shutting me up (smirks)
Jaden: yes
Josh: haha okay (turns the light off)
Jaden: I love you
Josh: love you too
(They fall back asleep)

(Jaden groans and answers the phone)

Jaden: hello (half asleep)
Nessa: hey Jaden uh I was wondering if you have any plans today?
Jaden: no not that I know of why?
Nessa: my record label wants to record a music video for la di die and since your featured on the song I kind of need you...
Jaden: yeah no problem what time do you want to do it?
Nessa: we can meet at the set around eleven does that work?
Jaden: yeah I'll see you then
Nessa: okay perfect bye Jaden
Jaden: later nessa

Josh: (mumbles) did you say nessa?
Jaden: yeah... she wants to record the music video today
Josh: oh okay
Jaden: you okay with that?
Josh: yeah of course babe I am just still half asleep
Jaden: (laughs) alright I am going to get ready then (gets off the bed)
30 minutes later
Lexie's pov
I woke up with Josh's arms wrapped around me and my mind felt fuzzy again kind of like when I first went into little space but I am not in little space anymore so why is it fuzzy? Shit I haven't eaten that's probably why... I should at least eat the rest of the salad so the boys don't get suspicious. I got out of bed and walked downstairs to see the other boys up and drinking protein shakes which is morning ritual at this point.

Lexie: morning (opens the fridge and pulls out the salad)
Griffin: wait a minute is Lexie willingly opening the fridge (gasps in shock)
Lexie: yeah well if I don't then I have you guys on my ass so... where's Jaden?
Bryce: left to record a video with nessa
Lexie: oh okay (puts the salad on the counter)
Griffin: rafy's going to be here in an hour so eat and then get ready, did you get the homework she gave you done?
Lexie: yes...
Noah: that didn't sound too convincing
Lexie: no I got it done I promise (takes a bite of the salad)
Quinton: okay well the rest of us are going to go work out so if you need anything come to the gym
Lexie: okay
(Lexie takes a bite of the salad but Bryce stays back)
Lexie: what are you still doing here? Aren't you the king of getting gains
Bryce: yeah I just want to make sure you eat plus I am not working out because I have to go on the podcast with josh
Lexie: oh okay well I am eating now aren't I (takes another bite)
Bryce: yeah but
Lexie: you know at some point you guys are going to have to start trusting me, I haven't thrown food away since Q found out and that was two or three months ago
(Bryce is about to respond but josh walks downstairs with his keys in his hand)
Josh: ready to go Bryce
Bryce: yeah
Josh: bye lex (kisses the top of her head) oh buddy's in my room can you try and walk her before Rafy gets here
Lexie: yeah I'll go now (takes another bite of the salad and stands up)
Josh: you can finish eating first lex
Lexie: it's okay I ate half of it, save the rest for lunch you know
Bryce: your having some sort of chicken for lunch you can't live off salads
Lexie: dancer Bryce remember
Bryce: yeah and one piece of chicken is fine
Lexie: okay whatever don't you have to go or you'll be late
Josh: yeah and I can't be late again or Dave will actually kill me
Bryce: then let's go, later lex
Lexie: bye
(Josh and Bryce walk out of the kitchen and leave the house)
Lexie's pov
Finally I am left alone the boys were working out, Jaden's gone and so are josh and Bryce. I put the salad in the fridge and went upstairs to grab buddy's leash and I clipped it on and walked with her downstairs to the gym where the boys were lifting weights.

Lexie: I am going to go walk buddy before Rafy comes
Blake: put on a pair of different shorts at least those are to small
Lexie: ugh fineee
Lexie's pov
I went upstairs and put on a pair of sweats instead of shorts and left my pajama shirt on, grabbed buddy and started walking her around the neighborhood. I put my headphones on and was listening to the song we were going to do choreography for when I noticed a black car across from me. Normally I don't care there are cars all the time since this was a neighborhood but this particular car I was staring at gave me a sick feeling in my stomach, I looked around my neighborhood to see if there was anyone around me but it was just buddy and I and then she started barking which wasn't very intimidating to be honest because she still has her puppy bark but it was enough for me to decided to go back to the house. I decided to make sure I was at least a little composed so I wouldn't worry the boys when I walked into the house, I breathed in a few times and once I just concluded it was my own paranoia I walked up to the driveway to see Rafy's car there and walked inside.

Lexie: hey Rafy
Rafy: hey Lexie how are you? (Walks over and hugs her)
Lexie: I am good how are you?
Rafy: I am good thanks for asking are you ready to get started?
Lexie: (dramatically sighs) I guess
Rafy: (laughs) come on let's go drama queen
(Rafy and Lexie walk into the dining room and start doing their work)
Scene change (On set)
Jaden's pov
I had gotten in set and the first thing they did was send me to wardrobe there were two outfits because there were going to be two scene changes. The first outfit was an open white puffy shirt with roses on them and gray pants along with earrings, a cross chain and the director let me keep my rings on saying it went with the look. After I went to do hair where they just kept the messy hair look and put eye liner on me and when the looks was complete I looked in the mirror and not going to lie the fit was fire, I loved it and I knew josh would to so I sent him a pic and waited for him to respond back when I heard the door open and saw Nessa walking in with a silver sequined dress and her and makeup all done she looked too not going to lie.

Nessa: thanks (gives him a small smile)
Jaden: (sighs) look ness I don't want things to be awkward between us, we used to be friends remember
Nessa: yeah but that was when you were my boyfriend's best friend and my best friend's boyfriend
Jaden: you and josh had already been broken up for a couple months it's not like I cheated on Mads with josh ness
Nessa: still why did you have to date him? You know we only broke up to work on ourselves but we still loved each other... we could have been back together by now
Jaden: I am sorry Ness for how things happened but I am not going to apologize for loving josh, I know it's probably hard seeing him with me but you have to move on for your own sake
Nessa: you know Mads still loves you right? We live together and she told me that if you weren't with josh that you two would have worked it out and you, her and lex would be the one as a family
(Jaden's about to respond but the director walks over to them)
Director: are you guys ready to start?
Jaden: y yeah
Director: great then let's go

Rafy: okay so now that we are done with English and history let's move onto math did you do the homework I gave you?
Lexie: yeah but then buddy ate it
Rafy: you know you could just be honest with me instead of using the dog ate my homework excuse
Lexie: but I am serious buddy really did eat it
Rafy: hmm where's the paper Lexie?
Lexie: in the trash because buddy actually ate it
Rafy: (sighs) Lexie I will help you with it but you need to be honest with me
Lexie: (mumbles) fine here it is (opens her folder and pulls out a blank sheet of paper) I didn't understand it...
Rafy: why didn't you ask griffin or Noah to help you?
(Lexie shrugs her shoulders)
Rafy: you know everyone's willing to help you but you have to speak up and ask no one can read your mind
Lexie: I know that
Rafy: then why didn't you?
(Lexie shrugs her shoulder again)
Rafy: okay well let's finish up this worksheet and then we are done for the day okay but I am going to talk to griffin about the homework

Josh's pov
Bryce and Dave were in the middle of talking about the beef that they had with each other when I felt my phone vibrate and I saw Jaden sent me two pics one was a mirror pic with an open white puffy shirt with roses on them and gray pants, the second one was an open flannel shirt with ripped jeans. The first outfit was hot because he was wearing all this jewelry with it but the second one showed off his tattoos and his abs more than the first, I felt myself get hard just looking at the pic and so I texted him back while Bryce and Dave were talking.

Director: alright that's a wrap
Jaden: cool thanks for having me everyone it was a lot of fun (starts walking to the dressing room but nessa follows him) look ness if your going to tell me how my ex is still in love with me I really don't want to hear it or how your in love with josh
Nessa: just think about it Jaden I mean do you really think you two are going to get married in the future? How do you know that you didn't just fall in love with josh because you both were taking care of Lexie or something
Jaden: (shakes his head) your ridiculous ness in case you haven't realized but josh and I have known each other longer, we have lived together and we've always been close don't tell me how I caught feelings for josh when your not me (puts on his hoodie)
Nessa: fine whatever Jaden but if you think me and josh aren't going to be the ones to have a future your kidding yourself (walks away)
Jaden's pov
I watched nessa walk out of the room and changed out of the jeans and into the jeans I brought and got in the car and started driving home. I saw Josh's car in the driveway which meant that he was home and honestly all I wanted to do was be him his arms right now, I got out of the car and walked Inside to see Rafy, Lexie, griffin and Noah sitting at the couch talking and griffin had his arms crossed. Great what now?

Noah: in the kitchen with Bryce and Blake
Jaden: okay thanks (walks over to the kitchen and sees josh and wraps his arms around him)

Jaden: nothing I am just tired from last night that's all
Josh's pov
I know Jaden was lying because I could see it in his body language and I could tell he looked bothered by something so I looked at Bryce and Blake and told them I would catch up with them later and walked upstairs to our room with Jaden who had his head in the crook of my neck and arms wrapped around my waist. I didn't want to push him at first so I just ran my fingers through his curls and waited for him to talk.

Josh: yeah?
Jaden: do you see us having a future together?
Josh: yeah I couldn't imagine anyone else I would want to be with
Jaden: not even nessa? (Looks up at him)
Josh: no why? Did she say something to you?
Jaden: She admitted that she still loved you... do you love her josh? Because if you do I don't want to be the one to hold you back (tears in his eyes)
Josh: hey hey (wipes his tears) I love you Jaden, I don't want to be with nessa not now or ever again, did I love nessa yea and I think she's always going to have a place in my heart just like Mads will for you because they were our first loves but that doesn't change the fact that I love you and see a future with you
Jaden: I am just so scared your going to wake up one morning and not want to be with me anymore... (cries) and I am sorry for breaking down like this it's just what she said really got to me even though I tried not to show her it did
Josh: (pulls him closer to him) listen to me you don't have to apologize for crying and showing emotion Jaden, your strong for everyone else and it's okay to not always be strong and you know that more than anyone (wipes his tears) I love you so much
Jaden: I love you too
(Then their bedroom door opens and Lexie walks inside)
Lexie: Is everything okay?
Josh: (smiles) yeah we are good bubba's just having a moment why don't you come and give him a hug
Lexie: okay (smiles and walks over to the bed and hugs him) are you okay Jay?
Jaden: yeah baby I just had a rough day on set
Lexie: it's okay we all have those
Jaden: your right about that
Josh: i have an idea how about we just cuddle and watch movies the rest of the day? We all had a long night anyways
Lexie: what do you mean?
Jaden: you don'd remember your nightmare last night?
Lexie: no I had a nightmare last night?
Josh: yeah and when you woke up you were in little little space and stayed up till five because you didn't want to go back to sleep
Lexie: that explains why my brain felt fuzzy when I woke up this morning, how old was I?
Jaden: (shrugs his shoulders) younger then you usually are
Lexie: oh... anyways how about the movie?
Josh's pov
I turned the tv on and started scrolling though Amazon until I found a comedy with Adam Sandler and we decided on that one but thirty minutes into the movie both Jaden and Lexie knocked out and I thought about nessa's conversation with him. I was mad at her not going to lie because I couldn't believe she would say something so hurtful to him. They were friends at one point and I know it's weird for her that I am dating him but still. I didn't want to text her because I knew she would probably blow it more out of proportion and Jay was just opening up to me so instead I took out my phone and took a picture of them both, captioned it "couldn't imagine my life without them" and posted it on insta then put my phone down and went to sleep too.

Quinton: is anyone going wake up the lovers and lex for dinner?
Anthony: we should probably let the boys sleep and wake up lex since she skipped lunch
Boys except ant: not it
Anthony: fine I'll do it pussies
( Ant walks upstairs and opens the bedroom door to the finds the three of them cuddling, he pulls out his phone and takes a pic and then lightly shakes Lexie who let's out a whine)
Ant: Lex come on get up you need to eat
(Lexie opens her eyes and she's in little space so she whines again and closes her eyes)
Ant: come on lex you can fall back asleep after you eat
(Lexie shakes her head no so Ant gently picks her up from the middle of the bed and carries her downstairs)
Boys: hey lex
(Lexie tries to respond but gurgles instead)
Griffin: she must have slipped when she was sleeping
Kio: now what?
Griffin: just cut up the chicken in tiny pieces and she'll feed herself
Kio: okay (does it and hands her the plate)
Lexie's pov
Kiki hand me plate with food but I no want that I want bottle so I picked up the plate and threw it on the floor.

(Lexie looks at bryce and starts crying)
Noah: she's not in a toddler headspace Bryce you can't just yell at her (picks her up) shh shh it's okay
Bryce: sorry I forgot
Jaden's pov
I woke up and heard Lexie crying but she wasn't in the room with us so I assumed she was downstairs I groaned and looked at the time on my phone to see it was now seven thirty which meant we had been asleep for a few hours at least. I shook josh lightly and he opened his eyes a few minutes later and kissed me.

Josh: hey babe feeling any better?
Jaden: yeah thanks for reassuring me
(Josh is about to respond when they hear Lexie still crying downstairs)
Josh: we should probably go see what that's about
Jaden: yeah your right let's go
(The boys leave the room and walk downstairs to see Lexie crying in Noah's arms while he tries to calm her down and then she sees Jaden and makes grabby hands towards him)
Jaden: it's okay I got you baby (walks over and takes him from Noah and wipes her tears) what happened?
Quinton: Bryce yelled at her because she threw her food on the floor
Bryce: in my defense I forgot she wasn't being a bratty toddler
Jaden: (shakes his head) this is the second times she's regressed into a younger headspace, if she doesn't talk that's one of the signs
Bryce: noted
Jaden: (looks at Lexie) what do you want baby?
(Lexie points to the bottle on the counter)
Jaden: okay (puts a pot to boil)
Griffin: Jay she hasn't had any protein in almost two days
Jaden: just put a few pieces of chicken on her plate and I'll feed it to her
Griffin: okay
(Griffin puts a few more pieces onto a plate and the bottle's ready so Jaden walks over to the table and sits down with her in his lap while the rest of the boys serve themselves)
Jaden: can you ear a piece of chicken baby? (Picks up a piece with a fork)
(Lexie shakes her head and points to the bottle)
Jaden: you can have that after eating three pieces okay? (Puts the fork to her lips)
Lexie's pov
I eat three pieces of chicken like bubba want me too and he hand me bottle and gave it to me and I close my eyes after.

Once Jaden closed his eyes I pulled out my phone and went to nessa's contact and was about to text her when I got a text from Mads.

Josh: listen Mads I don't appreciate you trying to get in my head and I don't appreciate nessa trying to get in my boyfriends head either, we are the ones who know how we feel about each other not you guys so tell nessa to stop trying manipulate him, and don't text me again, I don't want to bring this to social media because you know the last thing I like doing is airing out personal shit but keep trying to ruin my relationship and I'll expose the both of you
