Chapter 74

Lexie's pov
I groaned when I heard my alarm on the phone go off, my body didn't feel like getting up today. My head is pounding, my throat hurts, my stomach feels queasy and my body aches but I knew today I had to be at high water to perform half the choreography with James. If it were up to me I would spend the rest of day sleeping buried under the covers but I can't let him down like that so I turned off my alarm and willed my body to get out of bed even though it felt like the biggest effort in the world. I looked over at josh and didn't feel like waking him up just yet so I walked out of the room and over to mine where I decided today I would just throw on a pair of black sweats and a sports bra, put my hair in a messy bun, grabbed my bag and walked downstairs. When I got to the kitchen I saw griffin, Kio and Bryce all drinking protein shakes.

Lexie: Kio since when do you work out?
Kio: griffin finally convinced me so I am going to work out today
Lexie: (laughs) good luck with that
Griffin: you feeling okay?
Lexie: yeah why?
Griffin: I don't know your voice sounds weird
Bryce: only you would notice that nurse griffin she sounds fine to me
Lexie: yeah I am fine maybe just a little dehydrated
Griffin: drink some water then take your pill and eat something Kio and I will take you today
Lexie: okay
Lexie's pov
I walked over to the pantry and grabbed a cup and walked over to fridge and poured some water with ice and started drinking it. The cold water soothed my aching throat until i finished swallowing and then it my throat felt ten times worse, I didn't want to drink anymore but I still had to take my pill so I just grabbed the pill and placed it on my tongue and drank the water which was a bad idea because the pill plus the water was not a good combination I put the cup of water down and decided not to drink anymore. Then I walked over to the fridge and pulled out two pieces of bread to make toast because anything else would make my stomach feel worse. I ate the two pieces of toast and then told griffin and Kio I was ready to go.

Griffin: did you say bye to josh?
Lexie: no I'll be right back (walks upstairs, opens the door and walks over to josh and lightly shakes him)
Josh: hmm (opens his eyes)
Lexie: I just wanted to tell you I am leaving
Josh: okay I'll pick you up after, love you have a good day (sits up and kisses the top of her head)
Lexie: love you too (walks downstairs)
Griffin's pov
I watched Lexie come downstairs and she looked a little pale to me but she said she was feeling fine so I guess I am going to have to believe her. We left the house and Kio got in the passenger seat while I started driving with Lexie in the back, I put the radio on at a medium volume since it was still pretty early and Lexie stayed quiet most of the ride and If Kio or I asked her something she would give short answers, not with an attitude or anything like that just like making it clear she didn't feel like talking. Knowing her she's probably still half asleep so we let it go and thirty minutes later I pulled into high water.

Lexie: love you too (gets out of the car)
Lexie's pov
I really wish I had stayed in the car and went back home because I am starting to feel even worse then I did this morning but I'll deal with it. I walked up to Clare, Dani and Amy who pulled me in for a group hug since It's been a while since I have seen them. I apologized for ignoring them a majority of the week and they understood and forgave me so now we are just talking and catching up well they are talking and I am listening because if I talk it just hurts my throat even more.

Lexie: I really don't want to start with miss Cassidy (groans)
Dani: well it's a good thing your not
Lexie: what do you mean?
Amy: there was a schedule change for this week so we have moose, Camille, Luke and Natalie
Lexie: suddenly I think I want to see miss Cassidy
Clare: why what happened?
Lexie: let's just say the day that I skipped moose caught me and I am pretty sure he's the one that told Jaden and josh that I ditched also I might have said some... colorful words to him
Dani: moose is chill, just apologize and he'll forgive you
Lexie: I hate apologizing (crosses her arms)
Clare: stop being petty and just do it before class
Lexie: fineee
Lexie's pov
I walked away from the girls and towards moose's studio, I was in front of and was about to knock when I hesitated because if there's anything I hate it's swallowing my pride and admitting that I was wrong but I knocked anyway.

Camille: come in
(Lexie opens the door)
Natalie: oh Lexie nice to see you again, how are you?
Lexie: I am good is moose around...
Camille: yeah he just walked to the car for a moment and he'll be right back
Lexie: okay (sits on the floor)
Camille: so Lexie how are you? How are you adjusting to high water?
Lexie: I am fine
Natalie: really? I know some students can be kind of mean sometimes because they think they are better then everyone else but that's there own jealousy
Lexie: are you talking about Odalie and her little group of demons
Camille: we aren't aloud to call our students but between us sure
Lexie: (laughs for a second and then stops) I am just going to try and ignore Odalie and her comments...
(Camille is about to respond when moose walks in)
Moose: well if it isn't the trouble maker from last week, how you doing kid (walks over to her)
Lexie: good.. listen moose I just want to say I am sorry, last week I said some shit and was really out of line, I was angry and took it out on everyone which wasn't fair
Moose: it's okay I figured you had some stuff going on but hey that's what the dance floor is for okay, take all that energy and channel it yeah?
Lexie: yeah
Moose: okay start warming up the class should be here in about five minutes
Lexie: okay
Lexie's pov
I decided to just stretch a little because knowing Luke he was going to give us a full work out session and I don't have the energy for that. I stretched for about five minutes when I saw the girls walk in and came over to me so we could stretch together and then stretch each out. Little by little people started walking into the classroom and low and behold Odalie and her team of demons come walking into the room.

Amy: just ignore them okay?
(Lexie simply nods her head and continues stretching)
Luke: alright listen up everyone today we are going to do some resistance training which might seem easy at first but give it five minutes and you'll start to feel the burn so let's start! (Puts some music on)
Lexie's pov
As if my body wasn't aching enough on it's own now I am going to have to resistance training fuck my life. He started it by us simply sitting on the floor making sure our posture was straight and us making sure our back muscles were aligned with each other and engaging. We had to stretch and flex our feet every ten seconds and after three minutes my butt was already feeling numb from sitting on the floor. After the exercise he had us standing in releve until our legs were practically shaking because FYI when you are standing in releve you are in engaging everything. From your hips to your thighs to your core and yet people have the audacity to say dance isn't a sport. Thirty minutes later we were done with resistance training and went onto to learn the new hip hop combo with moose and Camille which was fun but by the time class was over my head pounding from the music, my stomach felt even more queasy and my body ached like a bitch. We finally finished with moose's class and now it was time for miss Cassidy's class.

Lexie: there's James I am going to see if we can go practice it before class starts
Clare: yeah I should do the same with Ricky (groans)
Dani: what's going on with you two lately?
Clare: oh you know the same toxic cycle we always find ourselves in one minute we are hooking up, saying he wants to fix things with me the next minute he's booking up with another girl
Ricky: who's booking up with another girl? (Stands behind Clare)
Lexie: what do you know speak of the devil and he appears
Ricky: I take it I am the devil
Dani: what gave you that bright idea
Lexie: well while you two go at each other I am going to practice with James
Amy: good luck!
(Lexie walks over to James who is talking with his friends and she taps him on the shoulder)
James: oh hey lex what's up?
Lexie: I was wondering if you wanted to practice the routine before miss Cassidy calls us out
James: yeah that's a good idea, catch you later guys (daps up his friends)
Lexie's pov
We walked over to one of the corners of the room and decided to mark it first meaning not go fully out and just make sure the counts we have match the music. We were able to practice for a good thirty minutes before Cassidy called us to the front of the class. I felt sick to my stomach and not from the nerves bud from the turns I just did which made me feel nauseous but I ignored it and we started our dance. We started on opposite sides and easily did the begging part of the song and after I sat on his lap and got off of him we both sat on the floor with our backs turned but did the hand movements we rehearsed so it looked like we were mirroring each other. The I turned around to face him and gently grabbed my head while our arms created like this loop for us to go through and make it look like we cracked each other's heads. I stood up while he lay on the ground and did a pirouette turn to get in between his legs with arms out stretched so it looked I was reaching out. Then kicked my left leg up then tumbled over James bringing him up with me then he rolled over me and sat on the floor in front of me while I stayed in back of him and that was officially one minute of the song which is what we needed. I was out of breath, dizzy, nauseous and exhausted.

Cassidy: I like it good job guys I can't wait to see how it looks like by the time competition comes around, what did you think class?
Odalie: personally I think it was bland and boring
Amy: I disagree I think they are telling a beautiful story
Odalie: it's depressing that's what it is and the judges are not going to like that
Dani: why don't we let the judges decide that themselves until then keep your mouth shut
Cassidy: girls enough I will not have anymore fights break out in my studio understand?
Girls: yeah
Cassidy: James you and Lexie can continue practicing if you would like or watch the rest of the student's performances
Lexie: may I go to the bathroom first?
Cassidy: yes you may
Lexie's pov
I couldn't get out the studio fast enough I bolted to the bathroom and opened the stall and leaned over the toilet and threw up. I can't do this anymore today I did what I had to do which was do the dance with James and now I want to go home, shower and lay in bed so I pulled out my phone and called josh.

Josh's pov
I was filming BFF'S since I wasn't able to yesterday and was arguing with some kid stromedy who apparently doesn't know how to listen without interrupting so I told him to shut up and let me speak when my phone started ringing and saw Lexie calling.

Josh: sorry Dave I know this is unprofessional but I am really going to have to take this
Dave: who is it that's so important?
Josh: Lexie and she's at school she wouldn't have called unless something happened
Briana: take the call and we'll cut it out
Josh: thank you (answers the call)

Josh: hey lex I am filming BFF'S what's up?
Lexie: Joshy I don't feel good, I just threw up because my stomach hurt, my throat hurts, my head is pounding and I want to go home please pick me up (voice cracks)
Josh: okay go to the nurses office and I'll be there soon okay?
Lexie: okay thank you
Josh: your welcome I'll see you soon
Lexie: okay bye

Josh: I am really sorry guys but I am going to have to cut this short, lex isn't feeling good and I need to pick her up
Dave: we understand we'll end it here and say you had a family emergency

(Lexie walks out of the bathroom and walks into Cassidy's classroom)
Lexie: miss Cassidy I am sorry but I am going to have to go to the nurses office
Cassidy: is it an emergency?
Lexie: kind of
Cassidy: alright I am letting you off easy this time only because you impressed me today
Lexie: thank you miss
Clare: can I walk with her?
Cassidy: go but be quick
Clare: thanks
(Clare and Lexie walk out of the classroom and Clare looks at her)
Clare: you look pale, are you actually sick?
Lexie: hmm I woke up this morning feeling horrible
Clare: then why did you come? You know you shouldn't push your body when your sick
Lexie: I know but I had the duet with James I couldn't screw him over
Clare: (sighs) I understand, (gets to the nurses office) text me when you feel better
Lexie: thanks (hugs her)
Clare: oh wait here's a piece of gum (hands It to her)
Lexie: thank you, your a life saver I haven't carried since I stopped you know
Clare: yeah I figured having gum around can be a trigger because it makes it easier to you know
Lexie: exactly
Clare: alright I better get back before Cassidy kills me
Lexie: (laughs) okay
(Clare walks away and Lexie walks into the nurses office)
Lexie: excuse me but I called my big brother to come pick me up because I wasn't feeling well
?: okay well my name is Kelly and I am the school nurse so if you would I'll take your temperature and then you can lay down
Lexie: okay
(Kelly takes her temperature while Lexie lays down)
Kelly: you have a slight fever but nothing to high yet it's probably just a cold but I'll let you know when your brother is here
Lexie: thank you

Josh's pov
I pulled into the parking lot of the school and walked inside to the office since the nurse's office is there as well and walked up to the lady at the desk.

Josh: hi I am here to pick up Lexie hossler she's in the nurse's office
Kelly: okay and what is your name sir and do you have ID with you?
Josh: yeah here (hands her the ID) it's Josh Richards
Kelly: okay let me pull up her file to make sure you are on her emergency contact (looks at it and puts it back) okay let me go get her
Josh: thank you
(Kelly walks to the room where Lexie is laying down in and walks her over to josh)
Josh: hey bud how you feeling? (Pulls her In for a hug)
Lexie: not good (mumbles)
Josh: okay let's get you know
Kelly: oh just to let you know she has a slight fever so if you would just give her medicine when she gets home so the fever doesn't go up
Josh: okay thank you
Lexie's pov
I didn't want to walk so I made grabby hands for josh not caring If Kelly was right there. He finished signing the paper and picked me up and carried me over to the car and he put me in the passenger seat. Fifteen minutes into the drive I was starting to feel nauseous again.

Lexie: Joshy (mumbles)
Josh: hmm (looks over at her)
Lexie: pull over
(Josh pulls over and Lexie throws up again while josh holds her hair and rubs her back until Lexie finishes)
Josh: you good now baby?
Lexie: hmm do you have gum?
Josh: yeah here (hands it to her)
Lexie's pov
I took the gum and started chewing it and closed my eyes the rest of the car ride but didn't fall asleep because I felt too sick. Ten minutes later we were finally pulling into the driveway of the house, josh picked me up and carried me inside.

Anthony: hey your home early is everything okay?
Lexie: I don't feel good...
Blake: NURSE GRIFFIN WE NEED YOU!!
(Lexie winces from Blake screaming and covers her ears)
Josh: your an idiot Blake (hits him upside the head)
Griffin: someone called me?
Bryce: lex is feeling sick
Griffin: (looks at Lexie) your pale come here
(Lexie walks over to him and he puts his hand on her forehead)
Griffin: you have a fever
Josh: and she threw up in the car
Griffin: okay lex why don't you go take a quick shower while I go to cvs and get you some medicine
Lexie: okay
Griffin: what else hurts?
Lexie: my head, throat and body
Griffin: okay It's probably a cold so I'll get you that medicine and some throat lozenge's
Lexie: okay (mumbles)
Griffin: alright call me if anything josh
Josh; yeah I got you
Lexie's pov
I walked upstairs to josh and Jaden's room because josh said he wanted me to shower in his room in case I fall from fatigue or something like that. To be honest I think he's just paranoid from what happened a couple months back so I just agreed and grabbed a onesie but josh said since I had a fever I needed to wear a t shirt and shorts. I really didn't want to because it's not comfy but whatever, I walked into the bathroom, closed the door and stripped and got in the bathtub.

Once lex was in the shower I decided to walk out to the balcony to call Jaden since I haven't had a chance to call him today and after a couple more rings he answered.

Josh's pov
I sighed and put my phone down and sat on the bed and started thinking Jaden's career is on the verge of taking off I can feel it. My company with Mark is just starting and I have so many investments in companies that I can't keep up with the amount of business calls I take everyday. We are both getting busy and with this new stupid contract Jaden and I don't get to see each other everyday, what if he actually loses feelings for me? That thought almost brought tears to my eyes.. no josh don't start thinking that way Jaden loves you and you love him and no matter what happens we'll get through it together. I was brought out of my thoughts when the bathroom door opened and Lexie came out wearing a t shirt and shorts with her hair wrapped in a towel. She walked over to the bed and got on to cuddle up to me while I turned on the tv and handed her the remote. She put on Cinderella and within ten minutes of the movie she slipped into little space.

Griffin: Lexie you have to take your medicine
Lexie: no yucky (crosses her arms)
Josh: no it's not, it's grape flavored
Lexie: grape yucky
Griffin: Lexie Marie Hossler you are going to take this medics right now (pours the right dosage on the spoon and holds it to her lips)
Lexie: no (pushes griffins hand away)
Josh: baby don't you want to feel better?
Lexie: yeah...
griffin: then take your medicine
Lexie: nooo (whines)
(Josh and griffin keep trying to convince Lexie to take her medicine when Josh's phone rings)
Josh: oh now he calls me back (answers the FaceTime)  hey Jaden I am in the middle of trying to give lex her medicine with griff can I call you after?
Jaden: medicine? Why is she taking medicine?
Josh: she was threw up at school today so I picked her up and now she's in little space and doesn't want to take it
Griffin: Lexie I'll give you two cookies if you drink it
Lexie: two cookies and no medicine
Griffin: that's not the deal
Lexie: den no deal
Jaden: can I talk to her?
Josh: yeah, baby bubba is on the phone here talk to him (hands her his phone)
Lexie: hi bubba
Jaden: hey baby (smiles) what's wrong?
Lexie: my tummy, head, troat and body hurt
Jaden: aww baby I am sorry I am not there but do you want to feel better?
Lexie: yeah...
Jaden: then you can you take your medicine please?
Lexie: (thinks about it) if I take medicine, you come give me cuddles
Jaden: I am working tonight baby but dada can cuddle with you tonight
Lexie: but I want you (her eyes crystalize)
Jaden: I wish I could be with you too but I have to go meet Travis at the studio, but I want you to still take your medicine so you feel better can you do it for me princess
Lexie: but you no come give me cuddles for me so why I take medicine?
Jaden: so you don't feel sick anymore
Lexie: no not good reason, I want you come and dada give me cuddles
Jaden: (sighs) I'll try but I can't promise you I will
Lexie: den I no promise to take medicine (crosses her arms)
Griffin: Lexie that's not fair your brother has to work don't try and make him feel guilty
Lexie: but
Josh: but nothing that's not fair Lexie now please take your medicine or you are going to go in timeout
Lexie: fine (pouts)
(Griffin puts the spoon up to her lips and she takes it and makes a face)
Josh: here baby drink this (gives her Gatorade)
Lexie: (drinks it) dat hurts my troat
Josh: I know baby it'll feel better soon (runs his fingers through her hair)
Jaden: I am proud of you baby thank you for taking it
Lexie: welcome bubba I love you (blows kisses)
Jaden: I love you too, I gotta go now okay?
Lexie: otay (says sadly)
Josh: bye Jaden

(Griffin leaves the room and Lexie cuddles up to josh while he plays Cinderella again)
Lexie: dada I want bubba (lays her head on his shoulder)
Josh: (mumbles) me too

Jaden's pov
I sighed and put my phone down and walked back into the studio with Travis and Colson who was doing a take of love race while I waited so we can run our sons together and for once it was the three of us without Jane and without ness. That sounds fucked up but I don't want to be around either one of them right now, my little sister is sick and my boyfriend is acting weird I can tell and over the phone I felt it. I was pulled out of my thoughts by Travis.

Jaden: what did you say?
Travis: I said who was that?
Jaden: Lexie she's sick
Colson: do you want to go to her?
Jaden: would you guys mind?
Travis: no we know this whole contract thing is taking a toll on you and Colson and I want you to know we are doing everything we can to try and get you out of that part of the contract but still keep you on the label
Jaden: really?!
Colson: yeah it might take a little while but we want you to know we are on your side
Jaden: thanks guys I appreciate it (daps them up)
Colson: no problem now go be with your little girl
Jaden's pov
I grabbed my car keys and noticed it was now seven o clock which wasn't too late but I knew I was probably going to stay at the sway house again. After another forty minutes of driving thanks to LA traffic I pulled up to the house and knocked on the door and Noah opened the door.

Noah: Jaden what are you doing here? (Smiles and pulls him in for a hug)
Jaden: I wanted to see my boyfriend and little girl where are they?
Kio: he's trying to give her some crackers and gatorade upstairs since she can't have milk
Jaden: okay thanks I'll catch up with you guys later (walks upstairs and knocks on the door)
Lexie: I open it (gets off the bed and opens the bedroom door) bubba you came!!
Jaden: (picks her up) I wanted to be with you so Travis and cole let me go early
Lexie: yay!
Josh: (smiles) no lex now that bubba is here will you eat?
Lexie: no
Jaden: why not baby?
Lexie: I no want to trow up
Josh: what if you had three crackers and that's it
Lexie: (sighs) okay
Lexie's pov
I took da cracker from dada and ate one and I was okay and den I had da second one and my tummy didn't like dat so I ran to da bafroom and trow up again. Bubba came over and rub my back and hold my hair. When I was done bubba brush my teeth and brought me over to da bed and dada.

Josh: I am sorry for pushing you baby
Lexie: it otay can we wat cinrella now?
Josh: yeah come here
(Lexie, josh and Jaden press play on the movie and halfway through lex falls asleep)
Jaden: want to go to the balcony (looks at josh)
Josh: yeah let's go
(They get off the bed and walk to the balcony and Jaden kisses him)
Jaden: I missed you even though we saw each other yesterday
Josh: I am used to seeing you every morning when I wake up and when I go to sleep so I have missed you too
Jaden: Travis said he was going to try and find a way out of my contract but still keep me on the label
Josh: seriously?? (Says excited)
Jaden: yeah it might take some time but yeah
Josh: I don't care I just hope this ends soon (pecks him on the lips)
Jaden: I have had a long day can we go inside and sleep?
Josh: your staying the night?
Jaden: unless you don't want me too (jokes)
Josh: no no stay and just put an alarm again
Jaden: okay
(Jaden and josh walk inside the bedroom, cuddle and go to sleep)
