CHAPTER 47

MAE's P.O.V.

I pushed Jaden away but he held me tighter. What is wrong with him? When I was about to step on his foot he ended the kiss but continued hugging me. "What is wrong with you? Why did you do that?" I hissed in his ears. "I'm sorry but I have to do that so that we can make the media believe what I am about to say." My brows furrowed with his last statement. I wanted to clarify what he was talking about but he pulled away but not completely letting me go. I felt his arms wrapped around my waist. I looked at him questioningly. He then leaned a little closer and whispered on my ear.  

"Stay still. Let the media capture this so that they won't attack you and Jungkook." The moment I heard Jungkook's name, I malfunctioned. I paused and looked at him trying to understand our current situation. "Now, smile at me and then at the cameras in front of us." He whispered as he put his fingertips on my chin and tilted my head before he leaned in for another soft kiss. I clenched my palms into fist. Why do I feel like this man is taking advantage of the situation. I really want to punch him in the face right now but there are other things that is more important.

I lightly pinched him in his side to show my dissatisfaction but he only chuckled to my irritation as he faced the cameras flashing towards us with a huge smile on his lips. "Mae, smile." He whispered. I heaved a deep sigh before I did what I was told. I smiled awkwardly at the camera. The flashes of the camera is too bright I can feel my eyes beginning to water. I can't understand how artists or celebrities can stand this because honestly, I think the flashes can make someone go blind. 

After a few seconds, I pulled Jaden's shirt to get his attention. He looked at me confusedly. "This is enough, please let us get out of here." I pleaded. Jaden nodded and held my hand before we started walking towards his car. I tried to ignore the people who suddenly approached me with some recorders or phone in their hand while asking me uncomfortable questions. 

"Miss Ramirez, aren't you in a relationship with Jeon Jungkook of BTS?"

"Miss Ramirez, are you cheating on Jungkook? I thought you and him are back together again."

"Miss Ramirez, who is he? Is he your current boyfriend? What about Jungkook?"

I looked at the reporters and really wanted to answer their questions but I know right now, no one would believe me and anything I say can be used against him. I don't want that to happen. I don't want him to suffer again all because of me. I closed my eyes and bit my lip as I entered the Jaden's car.

"Are you okay?" I looked at Jaden who is looking at me anxiously. I heaved a deep sigh and shook my head. Of course, I am not okay. I am worried sick for Jungkook. I heard him sight, too before he started the engine of the car and drive away. "Mae, look, about the kiss earlier." Jaden started which made me look at him with a frown. "Look, I am sorry, okay? It was a spur of the moment action. I want the media to see that you can't be Jungkook's girlfriend because you already have me." He explained which made my frown deeper. "Are you insane? What about your wife? What will she think of it? Ugh! You just made things more complicated." I muttered in exasperation.

I looked away from him before I subtly wiped my lips with the back of my hand. I am so mad at him for doing that but I am also mad at myself for letting him do that. I closed my eyes and prayed that Jungkook wouldn't know about it. Wait? Why do I even care if Jungkook sees it? I think it will be better that way so that he will leave me alone. Right? My brain is saying, yes but I can feel discomfort in my heart. Ugh!  I rolled my eyes and heaved a deep sigh. Why am I so conflicted?

The loud ringing of my phone woke me up from my thoughts. "Hello?" I answered without looking at the identity of the caller. "Miss Mae. Hi! This is Bang Sihyuk, are you available today? There are just a few things I would like discuss about you know." I froze. The voice sounds familiar. I took the phone away from my ears and looked at the number displayed on the screen. Just then, I remembered that I haven't got Bang PD-nim's number yet that is why it is unregistered. I put the phone again back to my ear. "Ahm, hello? Hello? Are you still there?" I heard from the other line. I cleared my throat before speaking up as I put the phone back to my ear.
